Our Redeemer Lutheran Church

I have been impressed with this congregation from the minute I inquired, by leaving a voicemail. Pastor Rod called back, never giving up when the Assisted Living community I live in does not have an answering machine and too many times fails to pass on messages. This is more profound than you know since I have had Parkinson's Disease for over 15 years now, am in a wheel chair, and, as such, have difficulty getting out.

He arranged for me to be picked up by a member (his own wife!) and, since then, by another wonderful member. The congregation is warm and friendly and is, for a lack of better words, like a second family. Every single person has welcomed me, treating me with dignity and respect, and I have quickly become friends with this "family,"

But the story doesn't end there! It is a small congregation that does a massive amount of outreach and community service work. As I like to say ... it's not an all talk, no go philanthropy, but a go, go, congregation. They contribute to the local food pantry, help the homeless shelter, let AA host their meetings there, hold services at a senior retirement community, host a drive for the Head Start program etc., etc., etc. That's barely a tip of the iceberg with all the activities they do for their own members!

If you're looking for a caring, welcoming active congregation, look no further. You won't be disappointed.

Hats off to Ms. Baumeister the Pre K teacher and her assistants for the wonderful job they do with the young children. Our great granddaughter attends and has learned so much. Way beyond their little age group. Thank you all.
