Bobcat Lake Campground

Facilities may be basic, but they're clean and well-maintained. Gates are left open in the off-season; camping is typically free from October through April. Usage during late fall and early spring is low; you may even have the place to yourself during peak fall colors. From May through September, drinking water is provided and modest fees are charged. Come early or late in the year to avoid mosquitoes. An extremely nice swimming beach is available on this same lake a short distance down the road. It is not immediately adjacent to the campground, though, but it is the nicest swimming area in this district of the Ottawa.

This is the one district of the Ottawa National Forest that operates their own campgrounds as opposed to handing them off to a private concessioner. Fees here and at other campgrounds in the Marenisco district are among the lowest you'll find at any rustic campground in UP with similar amenities.

Nice lake to take our kayaks to while camping at gogebic state campground. Lots of bluegill, crappies and bass. Had the best luck trolling ot drifting.

Besides the bugs, which at times were so unbearable in July that I had to suit up in mosquito netting, it's a fantastic and beautiful place to relax in the quiet wilderness and kayack/fish to your heart's content. Would definitely go back in the fall when its less buggy and not so hot.

A beautiful campground with 11 sites on a 76 acre lake that holds blue gills up to 8". Next to no other fish.

It is a very secluded and picturesque lake camp at and the fishing was good just a few places from where we slept. Would have gave five stars but the mosquitos made being outside of our camper almost completely unbearable

Gorgeous views, sites right on the shore, sites are well-spaced, lots of privacy. The only drawback was a bunch of yahoos blasting fireworks, which destroyed the peace of the place and silenced all the birds and animals. With no on-site management I had to ask them myself to cut it out, which they dud, but it turned and idyllic place into a kind of tense night.

The lake was really pretty, kind of warm water, nice wildlife.

Great little campground on a gorgeous and fairly quiet lake. Eleven sites, and while some are certainly better than others the majority are on the lakeside, providing fantastic views. Sites are decently spaced out, though I was a little surprised how many were occupied, even on a Wednesday!

Nice little NFS campground, with a picnic area and swimming beach a short drive away.

Very clean and quiet campground. Very close to the town of Marenisco. Road noise was minimal but I wish it was tucked off the road a bit more. Lake view was nice

Had a good time rained the whole while but had a good night and great afternoon. Glad to be home.
