Swamp II Bar & Restaurant

This is one of those hidden gems you hear about. We stopped on our way out to Hartwick Pines State Park after looking for a local "Mom & Pop" place or local favorite. They have great prices & have many specialty burgers & hoagie plus pizza & more. The reviews were all glowing too, so we decided to try it out. They did not disappoint. We're here at the very last weekend of the season, so the atmosphere was very laid back; maybe a dozen or so patrons. The Halloween decor was tastefully done, only adding to the beauty of the fall colors & the ambience of the place. I got the Philly Cheese Steak & asked for pickles instead of chips. Our waitress was a pickle dan as well so she gave me 8 spears at no extra charge. The hoagie was fantastic btw! My fiance got the 1/2 lb Swamp Burger with seasoned fries & a Coke. Our bill was only $25 & I only ate half my hoagie, so now I have donner too. Im only sorry we didn't catch our waitress' name, she was friendly & bubbly; she even credited me for the jukebox because I had spent $5 in credits only to realize the jukebox wasn't playing, it was another system being used. That was very cool of her to do since I only mentioned it to forewarn others. Needless to say, we would drive out of our way for good portions of great food, great prices & friendly atmosphere.

Couple trips there today. Like to hold these 5 stars for genuine place. The swamp II is that. Great food reasonable priced and a nice drink selection. Staff is awesome! Everything we had was delicious and probably more of a caliber of a higher end restaurant. They prepare their food very well and there’s plenty of it. Not in an obnoxious way but portions that one single human can eat all of it and feel full. Or even take a little to go.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat and had the best bar burger I've had in awhile! It was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and it was delicious!! Definitely recommend

We found this place during a girls weekend and it was just what we needed. Not fancy. Can be yourself. Our waitress Lynn was amazing. Can’t beat their drink prices.

Service was a bit slow but the sever was friendly and the food was great. I got a special ordered burger and it was delicious and they got my order right. Meat was high quality and the burger was cooked well and juicy. I would definitely eat there again

Just moved up this way recently and heard they had new owners and a new breakfast buffet. The place was open and inviting, tables were not overcrowded. It's definitely been cleaned up since the last owners. It looks like they continue to improve.

Our server/owner was five stars amazing, patient, and genuine. The breakfast buffet was fresh and hot. Not a single complaint about food or quality. A great taste to everything. She took time to talk to us, listen to our feedback. She was awesome.

But I was completely taken back by the fresh fruit selection and even more surprised to be impressed by it, you really don't think much about it. I mean it was beautifully fresh, hand cut that morning. That takes pride, passion and love. Kudos to these new owners and the pride they show in their food and service. Will make this a regular place to visit ❤

This is a bar/ restaurant in upper lower Michigan. The food was good and the staff was great. Has a bloody mary and it was mixed correctly, and had all the "dressings". The atmosphere was nice with music and TV's playing in the backround. I will be returning.

The service here was great and the food was even better! A large group (9) of us stopped here and our waitress, Jamie, along with some help from the bartender did an AWESOME job. The food was good and generously portioned. Highly recommended

Have been twice over last month, both times were excellent..

Dropped my daughter off in Gaylord for the week to visit with here mom and sisters. This is a 5hr round trip on the way back home to flint me and my wife got hungry and I did a search for somewhere to eat. Swamp 2 popped up on the list and I read the reviews and we decided to stop in for a bite. We both had the bacon burger and onion rings. Needless to say we were not disappointed. The burgers were made from fresh hamburger hand patted out they were thick and had just the right amount of seasoning and they did not skimp out on the bacon. The onion rings are some of the best I've ever had also, the staff and customers were really friendly and welcoming something you don't get where I live and the building was very clean. I am very happy I stopped in for dinner I will be stopping in again and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a bite or something to drink.

Ate breakfast with the family before heading to and it was an excellent buffet the sausage gravy and biscuits were amazing the the bacon was very good wasnt to crispy or to chewy was done well by the cook and the home fries/potato cubes were AMAZING the seasoning was excellently done. 100% will eat there again on the next visit

Just had the Burger Bites on special, they were great! My son had a chicken wrap and loved it. Great prices, generous drinks! Awesome huge glass mugs. Seated immediately. Outdoor and indoor options. Love the new colors inside! Another great local small business in the I-75 Corridor in northern MI. Right on Old-27. Trails galore!

Breakfast buffet is great. Love the eggs, biscuits & gravy. Never had a bad meal here.

Hands down. The BEST Bar Burgers we have ever had! They will win this on one of those food shows I am sure, lol. How they're cooks are not famous yet....I do not know👏😀👏👏Awesome staff! So friendly and make you feel at home! We have went when they are SWAMPED (pun intended), and they STILL keep it friendly⚘(we all know that is not easy, lol). Much appreciated you guys! Thank you!!
