Favorite campground hands down. Choice of cabins on the river or tents and of course trailers. The owners are really nice and you can’t beat the location for fishing and tubing.

This was our honeymoon and the cabin was a great spot for it. Although it rained we the area is a convenient drive to Gaylord for the Call of the Wild museum and Hartwick Pines for the lumberjack museum. It is also a little over an hour drive to the Mackinaw Bridge where you can catch a ferry from either side to the Island. We loved every minute of our 4 days and hated to leave.

Joyce is the best host. Our extended family has made staying here an annual tradition. Beautiful views of the river. Easy access to kayaking and canoeing. Quiet and Serene.

One of my most favorite spots in Michigan, wonderful owners, cute, clean cabins rite next to the river, and the kayaking is amazing!! Highly recommend 👌

I cannot express into words how grateful I am to Joyce, we are from out of state, and was in a disparate situation from another cabin rental, Joyce took us in last min,she is so sweet, Is there a Personable and friendly, the cabin she put us in was A mansion compared we left, there is Free canoeing, lake behind our cabin which is shallow water, great to swim in, They are pet friendly, plenty of walking trails to take your dogs, dogs can get in water, Joyce again this is Bonita and we will definitely be back!! Thank you so much for your Generosity

Stayed in a 1 bedroom with loft log cabin. Loved it. Quaint and cozy, sets on a trout stream. Very clean.

Excellent place to stay when enjoying this area of the lower peninsula.

I am reluctant to write this review, as I want to keep this place hidden from the general public. The hosts are so friendly and accommodating and they make you feel so welcome. The area is pristine and rugged yet so relaxing. The weather was very nice being sunny and low 70's, a rarity in this area during the late October season.
If I could give 6 stars I would !

Great peaceful place, I like the cabin by the creek with a swing and firepit, it has a nice firestove inside with a cool loft, the hosts are awesome and friendly, and the best mattress I've slept on in years...I hope to be back soon.

Beautiful quiet resort that is nestled right along the Manistee River. The cabins have all the amentities, were very clean, and right on the river bank. There are kayaks and canoes to use for your leisure. They also have a kids playground, horseshoes, and basketball court. It is family owned and run and the owners are very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend and it definitely won’t be my last stay here!

This is a beautiful resort with very friendly and helpful owners. We stayed in one of the cabins and it was very clean and cozy. We were right on the water and had access to canoes, kayaks where the owners would pick you up or take you where ever you wanted to start/stop your trip on the water. The fishing was excellent.

You are personally welcomed. We were helped with everything we asked. Kayaking or canoeing on the Mannistee River is the best I have ever seen in this state or any. The Manistee River has a sandy bottom. It is about 2 feet at the deepest. It flows in a swift ripple. We kayaked on the sectio that has woods on both sides. It was awesome!

Amazing owners to the point where they feel like family immediately.... My husband was in an ATV Accident as soon as she found out we where at the hospital she called three times to check on him and is just a genuine loving jewel of a person. Always have a blast and very inexpensive for such a diamond in the rough.

I was up north with a flat tire on my dirtbike and no tools to fix it. Randomly ran into the owner (not staying at his campground) and he gave me tools and everything I needed to get me back on the trails.
Campground is super secluded, right by the trails and river. Awesome place to camp and the owner is super cool! Highly recommend staying here if you're in the area looking for an awesome campground!

We love the tall trees in the morning as the sunrise shines thru. A walk down to see the Manistee River and quiet setting makes for a great get away.

Been coming here long before it was Whispering Pines.1957 when I was 2. 63 years on it is still the same homey feel with modern convince. Cabin and grounds are immaculate. Quiet. If you love rustic outdoors it doesn't get any better.
