Callahan's Goose Creek Lodge

This property is a labor or love. The owners must have spent years collecting the best of decorations, furnishings and accouterments to make this Lodge their own home. There are so many individual touches, from the red Refrigerator to the hummingbird pictures, from broken glass paintings to the animal statues: There is so much of thought involved in the decoration. The property is remarkably well maintained with no broken pieces or damaged items ensuring the users have an excellent experience throughout the stay.

There is plenty of activities in the neighborhood. As a matter of fact, we planned this resort to the our stay place and go to Traverse city and Mackinaw island for sight seeing but seeing the serenity and comfort of the place, we did not even feel like going to many places. It has a very good kayaking river that while not deep provided enough adventure due to some Beaver dams and zigzagging pathways. There is not much fish in the river and the ones we caught were very tiny. The trail is simple but very enjoyable and the view breathtaking. You see the river from the terrace all surrounded by trees.

There are plenty of activities inside the lodge that the owners have placed. There are movies you can watch (older and more family oriented movie though Fifty shades greyer is an exception), books to be read (mostly hunting and bird watching), Board games (Jenga, Chess), BBQ pits and fireplaces, and a bunch of others that I can't seem to remember.

This is a place that you will remember for a long time and continue coming back.

Few suggestions for the owners : Consider putting some locking mechanism in the bathroom as it can be easily opened from outside with the combination and while we did not have any accidents, if more people are sharing, someone might walk into someone else using the bathroom.
Second : Please put better signs (without abbreviations) around the turns as it is easy to miss the location and the cell phone maps also don't work or give clear directions at times.
Third : A table tennis (Ping Pong) table or a Foosball table will also be helpful.
Fourth : Continue being the amazing administrators that you are.

Fantastic accommodations, beautiful scenery, quiet, serene, very comfortable and relaxing.
