We love the wildlife drive and the short walking paths throughout it. We haven't done the larger trails with our kiddos yet, but will be I'm sure.

We have visited at least once every season. There is always something to see. The seven mile drive through trail is marvelous

Beautiful! Great place for birding and being one with nature. Trails are well maintained. Multiple hiking trail options provides serious and novice hikers with opportunities. Family friendly hikes and a beautiful 7.5 mile wilderness drive. Worth the stop every time! They also have a clean and informative visitor center.

This is a fantastic place for all nature lovers, especially those with limited mobility. There's lots to see on the wildlife loop. The short trails are also nice for an easygoing walk (I prefer the Blue Hill trail to see warblers!) One of the best places to see sandhill cranes in MN.

If you love nature, you'll love it here. We spotted, Blue winged teal, trumpeter swans, sandhill cranes, eagles, painted turtle, pelican, and great blue herons. There is a 7 mile loop that you travel by vehicle or bike.

The majority of the reserve is (understandably) closed during spring and summer, but they do have a 7 mile driveable loop dedicated to car tours.

I always love it here! So peaceful. If you need a good walk, or just to sit and reflect, it's a great place to go! Been a favorite of the kids' and mine for 15 years now!

Amazing wildlife area so close to the cities. What a great place to go spend some time with Nature. Rightfully said, it's a wildlife refuge not a motor park. You need to drive very slowly, with quiet engines. Anyways the slower you go the more you see. Best thing is to walk.

Never a dull moment driving the 7 mile Wildlife Loop. My favorite time to visit is during May/June to view the beautiful lupines.

Love this place, been coming up here for years. Beautiful scenery. Lots of wildlife. I mainly come here to photograph the wildlife, However, today's trip is all about fields of lupine in bloom.

Peacefulness in an evening's walk. Serenity, Sand dunes, complete with Red and White Pines, grouse drumming and woodpeckers pecking. The feel of the northwoods without the tiring commute. Worth a try if you need to get away and slow down for a bit.

We were on the blue Hill trail today. Nice walk but trails are uneven and some through thick brush so it's not a paved trail but the rewards at many points of this trail abound.

On the wildlife loop I was delighted to see half a dozen sandhill cranes, a great blue heron, a small army of trumpeter swans, several species of sandpiper, cormorants and a bounding family of river otters. There are a few walking trails off of the auto-loop- I trod the half-mile forested path twice. An observation deck set in some trees offered a shady, cool place to relax and enjoy the view on a hot day.

Drove the Prairie’s Edge Wildlife Drive on a late May evening. Beautiful and abundant wild lupine in the first couple of miles of the drive, especially near the half-mile prairie loop trail. The drive then draws closer to the refuge’s interior pools, where we saw about 100 sandhill cranes, with some dancing in groups to attract a mate. Also saw Canada geese, trumpeter swans, assorted ducks, deer, and a bald eagle nest at the end of the loop. Highly recommended!

Love this park - both as a hiker and a photographer. It's a beautiful place to capture the moment or to just walk/sit and enjoy all that nature has to offer.

A very therapeutic experience. Fresh air and nature as far as the eye can see. The path is about 7 miles long and you can drive the entirety of the road. There are walking paths at different stopping points as well. A great way to spend a beautiful day.

One of my favorite spots. Great spot to take a breathe and enjoy creation. If you are a birder like me…you need more than 2 hours to go through it

Great trail to walk and enjoy early fall colors. Has prairie, wooded pine, and wetlands.
