We love this place! I go there with my bf at least twice a month. The service is always excellent and the staff is very nice. I love the home-feel diner atmosphere. Their menu has a good variety of food, but we usually get fries - which are always so tasty and crunchy - eggs, sausage and bacon with white toast. I highly recommend you to try their fries, bacon and white toast! And the price is great too! We never spend more than $30 for two meals.

In my opinion, this spot is THE quintessential "hole in the wall" american diner. My friends and I try to make the trip over the river whenever were in the city. I only eat breakfast but the coffee is always fresh and im never disappointed. Certainly better than any chain breakfast establishment. People complaining about delivery are silly, we all know this is sit down and enjoy kinda food.

So awesome! We are visiting from California and picked this place randomly. So happy we did! Food was delicious, service was excellent and our food came out so fast! We highly recommend this place!

Great place to have a nice breakfast. Their unlimited cofee is the best and sercice is exellent. Prices are reasonable and food is delicious.

Sharing about wonderful customer service experience. Our waitress had a wonderful way about her and was kind. We asked to sit a bit longer to get work done and she said it's fine until all other tables were full. It had a quaint feel to it with her yelling the older back to the chef. Seems there were many regulars and we heard them being greeted by name. Food was ordinary, we got omelets, but we would go back again for the service.

Quick and easy. Yummy food. Good service.

Charlies is the best American cuisine restaurant around. Portions are generous, the seasoning is on point, & they offer traditional flavored American food.
Pancakes and home fries are a must try! Whether you're going for breakfast, lunch, or dinner you can't go wrong. The kitchen is out in the open too, so you get to see how your food is made. They're accommodating for people with allergies or food restrictions. I def recommend trying!

Nice little diner. This place has been here for many years. It's a tiny unassuming place but the staff is friendly and the food is very good. As of the date of this review there is no longer outdoor dining

On of the best diner all over New York city!

I fundamentally refuse to eat with anyone named Charlie. Thankfully, "Charlie's Restaurant" keeps Charlie in a cage in the kitchen. I asked to see him (to ensure that the cage was secure and also to drop off an unobtrusive cake that I had baked for Charlie), but the staff refused. Good, I didn't want to see Charlie anyway. They did deliver my cake to him though.
The food was delicious. MmmmMMmmmMMMmmMMmmmMm. Ambiance was fine. I heard that, later in the day, Charlie escaped his cage and disrupted some diners' meals. But my visit was 100% Charlie-less. Haven't seen a Charlie since.

West new York's hidden gem. Been walking by this place for about a year now , finally caught them open. Went there for breakfast and it was spot on reminded me of a dinner when I was a kid ,this is also the only place Bergenline where you can get a good old school style breakfast. They also have lunch and dinner options which I am sure are just as good. I highly recommend giving this place a chance service was very friendly as well.

We visited on 3 occasions whilst in NJ and can honestly say this diner is fantastic. The whole staff team are friendly and welcoming especially Martha 😊, the food is delicious and the portions are very generous. If you are in the neighbourhood you simply must drop in, Charlie’s will not disappoint!! Thank you Charlie’s for making our time in the USA all the more enjoyable .
