Dr. Kaladas took me right away when I had an excruciating pain in my neck. We were visiting NJ at that time and Dr. Kaladas was recommended by the hotel where we were staying. Dr. Kaladas not only prescribed some medications but he understood that we were out of town and needed immediate Physical Therapy. He called the local Healing Hands PT himself and requested that they take me immediately on an urgent basis. The Healing Hands gave an appointment immediately and I got a lot better within three sessions. I thank Dr. Kaladas and his staff for such a good care which saved my life. Knowing we were from out of town, his staff was also very good and helped us with directions and phone numbers etc.
Thanks Dr. Kaladas.

Dr K is the best! He listens, asks questions, makes sure you understand, and makes you feel comfortable. He is a one man show, so sometimes there can be a wait, however I have come to appreciate that this is because a good doctor takes the time he needs with each patient.

Dr. Kaladas is one of the best physicians to listen, troubleshoot, and identify root cause to symptoms which leads to the right diagnosis. Excellent staff with high level of professionalism and empathy.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kaladas for over 2 years. I have a star simply because of the ladies Arlene & Denise. They tried their best to accommodate my needs, however, the responsibilities lye on Dr. Kaladas. I am a diabetic who is on insulin. Dr. Kaladas never really got involved with my diagnosis as I felt he should have. It took 2 trips to the emergency room to find out I needed insulin all along. I made clear other concerns as well that are associated with diabetes and to no avail. He just kept prescribing me Metformin and refilling my other medications. I also put in an application from the American Diabetes Association to be filled out to help me with the cost of my insulin and it took 6 months for him to get it back to them only to not have been completed, so I never got the assistance I needed. Then Dr.K prescribed 3 BP pills just to have a note on the bottle to say I need to make an appointment. I haven’t been to his office in almost a year. He has just now tried reaching out, not a call or even an email, but in a prescription bottle to say I need to make an appointment. Needless to say I have moved on…Nice guy, but I need a doctor not a new friend.

I am writing this review to share my experience with my primary care doctor, who I have been seeing for the past 3-4 years. My intention is not to complain, but rather to inform others about the shortcomings I have encountered in the hope that they can make more informed decisions when choosing a healthcare provider.

One of the major issues I have faced is Dr. Kaladas's tendency to prescribe medications without thoroughly evaluating my symptoms or considering potential side effects. For example, when I've mentioned symptoms that feel like possible bronchitis, I was prescribed steroid medication without my doctor listening to my heart or asking about my symptoms. He just assumed I was right and immediately started treating me for it without questioning more. This pattern has continued across various ailments, often resulting in prescriptions that don't address the root of the problem.

Recently, my doctor prescribed a medication and when I asked about its side effects, the team told me to Google it. Upon researching, I discovered that the medication could potentially exacerbate pre-existing conditions I have, such as heartburn, anxiety, high blood pressure, and heart issues—all of which my doctor was aware of. I decided to take matters into my own hands and not take the medication.

Throughout my time as a patient, I found that Dr. Kaladas prioritized checking me off his list rather than adopting a holistic approach to my health. For example, during my heart issue ordeal, we never discussed the importance of diet and exercise. Additionally, I was prescribed an ultrasound that didn't even scan the organ in question. When I tried to address this issue, I ended up in collections because the office refused to take responsibility and schedule a new scan without charging me for both.

In conclusion, my experience (again, over 3-4 years; not just a one-off occurrence) with this primary care doctor has been disappointing and frustrating. I believe patients deserve a healthcare provider who takes the time to listen to their concerns, thoroughly assess their symptoms, and provide well-rounded care that considers their overall well-being. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this doctor, and I encourage others to seek out a medical professional who prioritizes patient needs and genuinely cares about their long-term health.

Bottom Line: Do not go here. I will outline the reasons below. If you are looking for timeliness in care or that personal touch, well, keep on going. It's been over a month and I still have not gotten the doctor to simply fax paperwork to my insurance company for blood pressure medication. If they don't have urgency for meds, then don't risk your medical treatment here for anything else.
Background: I've been going to this office for years and the quality of care has degraded to the point that I am in the process for looking for another doctor. First, the doctor's office fails to call in my medication in a timely manner for over a month now. I get to the point that I call their emergency line and only after that, I receive a text for a prescription refill the next day for a 30 day refill from my pharmacy until they can fax a simple piece of paper that I had seen they had on hand to my insurance company. It shouldn't take several phone calls to get a prescription refilled, especially after an in-person visit. Prescriptions should be called in immediately after the visit, to prevent issues like this from happening. "Urgent Med" should have a little sense of urgency, or else change the name to "When we feel like it Med" and watch your patient count drop. Imagine having a serious condition and not knowing or trusting your doctor to call in for your medication. No trust. Things like this are caused by poor management in the administrative side of the office. I've called almost daily and the people who pick up the phone merely say "he's been very busy and he'll get to it today"...well today came and went. 30 days to be exact.
At the two week mark, the assistant tells me that she is going to get the doctor to sign the paperwork and that he is "very busy". Then at around the same two week mark, they said they haven't sent my blood pressure refill because I had not gone to get a new blood work. As this never came up in conversation before as it being the reason for withholding blood pressure medication I currently see the same doctor for for several years now. When I received that poor excuse for bad paperwork management, I went ahead to Quest to complete my paperwork. TWO WEEKS later, I am still calling and now they still say that the doctor is "too busy" due to the holiday season. Pure carelessness. They have the paperwork they need. I had it faxed again and again for an entire week prior and on top of that, I made sure they had the paperwork during my IN PERSON visit. I had eyes on the paperwork that the receptionist had in her hand. I mentioned it to the receptionist, the student PA, and the actual doctor and received the head nod from all that they understood what I was talking about and why I needed that paperwork faxed to my insurance company for a prescription refill.. Apparently all those head nods were false, since the simple task still not been complete. Forget the doctor's office lifting a finger to help. Imagine being treated like this when you are depending on a medical doctor for vital medication that will get you better? Now go ahead and make it a reality if you choose this place. If other patients are being treated like this, I wouldn't want to give this place the trust that I require from medical provider. This obviously shows a poor hand-off of information between shifts and that patient care falls through the cracks, even though I have been calling almost daily. The things I would want to change in that office the lack of consistency with the level of care that I receive in the form of timely paperwork submission, follow through with patient care (calling in prescriptions on a timely manner), and a little more of a human factor to be present in the employees that run that office such as increased due diligence from the staff. Especially for a business (yes it's a business) that relies on trust, consistency, and quality control to be successful in a highly competitive market. It's a shame because the Doctor is great and the face of Urgent med (the administrative staff) is dropping the ball.
