The Beauty Loj at Norm's

Sarah is phenomenal! She did 11 women’s hair for my wedding. She made everything perfect. She even cut my hair halfway through reception! Thank you for making me feel like a princess!! 10/10 recommend.

This place is so underrated and very reasonably priced! My husband and I were eloping in the ADKs but got covid right before. The Beauty Loj was so nice about rescheduling my bridal hair appointment. Not only do they have excellent customer service, but they did an INCREDIBLE job with my hair! I have super frizzy hair and would be hiking up a mountain for our wedding location on an 80 degree day. To my surprise, I didn't have a single sighting of frizz on top of the mountain! I would 100% recommend the Beauty Loj at Norm's! You won't be disappointed!

Where do I begin? I am not from Lake Placid so I had a lot of research to do in order to find a hairstylist for my wedding. I am so thrilled my sister found Sarah. Not only was my whole bridal party happy with their hair, Sarah was the most down the earth person. She had great conversations and was so quick!! I highly recommend Sarah at The Beauty Loj at Norm's. We all looked beautiful :-)

I am visiting Lake Placid for a few weeks and I wanted to get a pedicure and manicure at a reasonable cost. I did not want to go to a high end, expensive salon.

I walked into The Beauty Loj and was instantly greeted and had a great experience with Jackie! She does a fantastic job! The massage during the pedicure was incredible and she has a very soft touch, but is thorough. The paint job on both my toes (regular polish) and my fingernails (gel French) were great.

I would absolutely recommend Jackie at the Beauty Loj to anyone!

The salon is clean and decorated in a lot of young, vibrant colors. It's really cute. Like a classy college dorm room with bright pink chairs and fluffy pillows.

I got highlights and a tone a few weeks back with Sarah. She was great with fitting me in her schedule, my hair came out great, I got what I asked for, for a reasonable price, and to be real she was pleasant to chat with while I was in the chair:) Thank you!!

I highly recommend sarah for any event you need, she did my hair for my wedding and really set the day off right! She made quick work of my hair and I ended up with a beautiful bow on my head! The best part was that it stayed in all day up to the wedding and all night dancing till 3am! Sarah, you are amazing, thank you so much!

I couldn’t be more happy with how Sarah styled my hair on my wedding day and took care of my bridesmaids and the mothers of the bride and groom! She sculpted beautiful updos and was very friendly and flexible. Sarah is a local and knowledgeable about the area, which is great for out-of-towners getting married in the area who want to know more about where to go and what to do.

I called The Beauty Loj to make appointments to get pedicures and manicures for me and three of my friends. When we arrived the woman working said that two of us could get started and the others would need to wait. We were okay with this as we had anticipated that only two of us would be able to go at a time. What I did not anticipate was having to wait for two men to get their haircut while my feet were soaking for my pedicure. The woman started my pedicure but stopped twice to do two mens' haircuts. Other women also came in and were seen before my friends. I am not sure if these other people had appointments or not but I was frustrated because we had called ahead to confirm our appointment.

It ended up taking so long that I had to reschedule my manicure for the next day. I returned the following morning for a gel manicure. Unfortunately, two days later the gel had already chipped. I am very upset that the gel only lasted two days. I have gotten gel manicures that have lasted over two weeks.

I am giving The Beauty Loj 2 stars because despite the long wait, poor appointment organization and bad gel manicure the salon was very clean and the staff was friendly.

Update: I am extremely appreciative of the great customer service at The Beauty Loj. I now totally understand why we waited so long (nail tech had a family emergency) but it would have been nice to have a heads up once we arrived for our appointments. The owner Sarah was very apologetic and offered me a free redo of my gel manicure. I returned to the Beatuy Loj and received another gel manicure that looks fabulous and has not chipped! I will definitely return to The Beauty Loj next year!

The Beauty Lol is my go to for hair and nails in the Lake Placid area! Sarah and her girls are always so warm and welcoming and accommodating to my needs. Thanks for bringing a trendy, clean, up to date salon into the area!

The Beauty Loj hosted my entire wedding party (15 girls plus 2 moms) to get our nails done the day before my wedding in Lake Placid. They had 4 girls on staff who were all beyond great! We all got gel mani and pedi each and everyone's came out wonderful!!! They closed down the salon for us so we had he place to ourselves where we enjoyed snacks and spritzers! It was so clean and you would have thought the staff was part of our wedding party we all chatted the entire time like wev all known each other for years! It was truly like a mini party before the party - so much fun!!! Would go back in a heart beat!

Sarah, the owner has been my stylist for 15 years. I've followed her from other places and now she has her own salon. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I highly recommend her.
