La Catrina

This USED to be one of our favorite places in the Troy area to eat until today. We were actually laughed at by the waitress when I explained to her that they were NOT allowed to segregate us or treat me any different than any other patron because of my disability and having a service dog. They demanded to see my papers! I explained that under Americans with Disabilities act that he and I were protected and tried to patiently explain this too the waitresses whom had to “Go call the owner” because local health code is supposedly over a federal law. After returning I was told that I could be placed on the cold windy patio OR they could put us in a private room so we wouldn’t be near any other customers. Is that NOT the literal definition of “segregation”??

The food and the service was top notch! I have never had a Chimichanga dinner that left me wanting more ! The picadilla meat was delicious! If you all have a chance, stop in this restaurant, you won't be disappointed! I'm just passing through, but I wish you were in Southern Indiana Louisville area!

Only 4 stars on food as the salad wasn't fresh and the radishes were dry. Staff was great and the tables weren't crammed into each other.

The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the drinks were top notch! I will be returning to explore more of their delicious menu!

This is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever eaten at. They put a lot of love into their food, it's homemade and everything tastes authentic. The entrance and entire restaurant is wheelchair friendly. My only complaint - and I do adore everyone there - but my only complaint is the service. We were there for over an hour today and were only checked on 1 time. My daughter was missing her drink and our queso went cold waiting fir someone to bring more chips. There were 3 servers and only 5 tables with people, so it wasn't busy. I also wanted my tortilla soup as an appetizer but it came out with my food. In the evenings when they are busy, though, the service is great!

Absolutely outstanding Mexican restaurant. Very Authentic flavor delicious cuisine. The Staff was very cordial and very attentive to our table making sure we always had everything we needed. I highly recommend the birria Tacos or the chimi churro. They also have very tasty dessert churros with cream filling.

This is the best Mexican food I have ever had in any restaurant around this area. My daughter and I got sampler platters for 16 dollars each and there was so much food that mine came on 2 large plates and we each took home a to go container that looked like we had just ordered our meal to go. And we both had ate plenty of food before we boxed it. There were like 5 items on our plates and the food was simply scrumptious. I am not usually a fan of Mexican food in our immediate area it just is bland and unappetizing. But this food was so good it's even hard to describe. This place is in Troy, Ohio about an hour or so away from my home so won't be able to just go there anytime and I hate that but I will go back for sure. My daughter and I were doing a shopping excursion Sunday together and just happen to find this wonderful place. They had the restaurant decorated for Day of the Dead which happened at midnite on the Sunday we were there last week. The photos on the decorated table in one of my photos obviously are family members of the owners or such. The restaurant decorations were so nice and inventive and the paintings in the walls were beautiful. There were 2 chalk boards on a little stage that had been hand done in chalk by someone which is the wings and then the one with many different little drawings they were so beautiful and thoughtful. There was also a bar area in the middle of the restaurant and it was a pretty large place with several seating areas. It appeared they might also have entertainment sometimes in the small stage area. The staff were very friendly and nice and very attentive to our needs. And the restaurant was very clean and basically immaculate. I was very very impressed and that is hard to do with this kind of food. I will return and if you are ever in Troy, Ohio you must check it out you won't regret it. The address is 845 W. Market Street. I am not familiar with this town we were just passing thru and looking for somewhere to eat that we could go inside and relax and we found a gem. So maybe there are other things you could do in the town if you took a day trip but it is worth checking out.

Great Mexican restaurant. Xavier was an amazing server. The drinks were expertly mixed and the food was amazing. Quick service and my glass was never empty. The inside is beautiful with a nice relaxing atmosphere.

Absolutely would recommend! The place is beautiful and vibrantly painted, bathrooms are well kept and look nice. The staff were very hospitable, and the food was good. The wait time was also VERY short. Great experience!

Currently staying with my friend on my move back to the KY/OH area from TX. We decided to go out to eat and I thought the place looked interesting and gave off great vibes after viewing their menu online so decided to give them a go and boy did they deliver.

The menu is lean but packs a punch with the wait staff & kitchen willing to modify whatever they can to make you're experience a good one and food to your liking.

The food is more on the authentic Mexican cuisine side of the spectrum than the stereotypical Mexican cuisine side you've probably come to expect from most Mexican restaurants. The freshness and quality is amazing, present, noticeable. The food flavorful, prepared very well, and you get your money's worth portion size. I can recommend the black beans, fajitas, and Pollo Mango after this trip. The waitress was amazingly helpful and thorough in explaining what everything was dish wise, the flavor profiles of everything down to the sauces/salsa, and how it was cooked/prepared. I can also say the bartender can sling out an epic and mean Bloody Maria, dig the Calavera Sugar Skull drink glasses they serve you your beverage in.

I was satisfied and honestly shocked to the point of wanting to leave positive feedback and a positive review (I don't normally review restaurants unless they're either amazing or terrible).

I'd happily and highly recommend trying La Catrina to anyone that loves Mexican cuisine or, well, to be honest anyone that loves fresh, flavorful, quality cuisine and wants a great dining experience. If you're in Troy, OH or the Troy, OH area give La Catrina a go, you won't regret the decision.

Authentic Mexican food. The street tacos are the best in the area. And don't forget the drinks - Javier & Jess make the BEST margaritas. The food is fabulous and the staff is even better. They treat you like family.

La Catrina is one of our favorite places to eat in Miami County. They have such a unique and delicous menu. From the mangorita to the tacos, every single item we have had is amazing! One of my favorite things to get is the Chicken Tortilla Soup! La Catrina is such a gem in Miami County!

I have been to LA Catrina for lunch multiple times, and it's always good. I usually get the Catrina bowl with grilled chicken. Fast service, good prices

Food is just great! I have been trying each one of them and none had failed me. Of course depending what time you're dining in, but me lunch time, service is amazingly quick and staff are very friendly.

Good food and presentation of the food.

I've visited a lot of Mexican restaurants. LaCatrina is one of the best for authentic Mexican food. We ordered the chicken burrito and black bean burrito, both with Ranchero sauce. These came with Mexican rice and beans. The food was hot and excellent. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and has plenty of room. The salsa is very mild and chips are incredible. We recently stopped visiting another Mexican restaurant in town due to the price increase and lack of cleanliness. The prices here are very reasonable.

We have never had a bad meal here. Strawberry Mojio's are great. Staff is always so friendly. Food is fresh and great. Best food in Troy.

First time there food was very good my Draft beer was extremely cold very good. It was a tad pricey . Would definitely visit again

Inside was so colorful! Street tacos were delicous and the strawberry daiquiri was perfect.
