Not fancy food, but good food. We enjoyed the vibe on a Sunday afternoon in November.

Warm, filling and flavorful. My husband was a very happy man after each course including delicious apple pie a la mode.

Service was friendly and attentive.

Came here craving mozzarella sticks around 8pm on a weekday night. The fried cheese was delicious. The marinara sauce had good flavor. The cheese had a slight chew to it which was good. Bowl of vegetable soup was $4. Chocolate cake was really good especially with the chocolate drizzle for $5. Overall, a great value small 3 course meal for $19! Service was great and my waitress checked on me frequently.

It was a great and welcoming experience. It was very busy during our time there, but the server was very attentive. The price was fair and the food was delicious.

Choice, eclectic college vibe. Big menu with something for everyone. Nice, caring staff. Love the regulars at the counter.

Visiting Richmond for the day so we stopped by for food here first, and it was awesome! I had a super specific craving for a cheesy hot dog baked potato and the server was happy to make it happen, and it was SO good! I really appreciate the flexibility, it was delicious!

Cozy diner like restaurant with an extensive menu full of comfort food. Service was pleasant, food was served hot and quick.

The poutine was tasty, with mozzarella cheese replacing cheese curds and diced ham slices added. The Ranch dressing, served chilled and on the side, hit especially well, best ranch I have had in a while.

The spaghetti with the chicken Parm was a little mushy and not Al dented, but that's what you should expect from a dinner serving comfort food.

The green beans that accompanied my son's chicken fried steak seemed to come from a can. But my son LOVED them green beans.

The portions were very generous making this place a great value. No wonder it seemed to be doing well in this college campus location.

Been first time in this place! I moved recently in that neighborhood. Very nice and clean place, staff is very friendly and my salad with chicken was great! Prices were good, happy was good!
Definitely will comeback there!

For 30 years, I have been coming back to the Village for good food! Its unique atmosphere is always welcoming and always great service! I will continue for the next 30!

We stopped in here for breakfast on our way out of Richmond and I am very glad we did! The food and service were both excellent, highly recommended!

First time here. Son just started at VCU so we had heard this was a good place and decided to try. Cute place. Food was good. We got pizza fries, Italian sub, tuna melt, club sandwich and chicken parm sub. All very good

Great food, slow but friendly service

Great food, fast service, decent portion sizes and fair prices. We went on a weekday morning so it wasn’t too busy. Parking was close by as well. We even got mini souvenir pitchers. Nice variety of options for food as well.

Years ago it was across the street where Root's is now (reference photo on menu). Being a local staple: pretty much everything on the menu has been galvanized to an unquestionably legitimate iteration (its the way most folk love like it). Furthermore, for nearly the entirety of my life its been a place to camp out and nurse a coffee for a few hrs before some important (or benign) engagement. Or just a good place to get some eggs and try to make sense of how it all got here. Also, there's a jukebox.

Excellent diner downtown near VCU. Breakfast served all day and giant milkshakes served in silver cups for only $5. Plenty of seating and a great menu. The ambiance is amazing with the cozy wood booths and our food came out very fast. Definitely worth a visit. I want to go back to try the pancakes!

We were in the area and we wanted something quick and easy for dinner. We saw the positive reviews for Village Cafe and decided to give it a try.
We really liked it. Food and service were both great and the prices weren't bad. Will definitely be going back.

I walked into this place thinking I’d have to wait to get a seat but was greeted with a warm smile and seated immediately. We were seated on the top floor. The service was quick and I enjoyed the biscuits and gravy the most. The portion were enough to feed two hungry adults. I enjoyed a mimosa with my meal. Thank you Leland for being attentive. I will definitely stop by here again.

Exceeded my expectations. I got the fried pork chops that they had on special. It was amazing. Side of Mac was fantastic. Creamy and tasty. Potatoes were potatoes lol nothing special but they tasted great. Bread was soft. I love how the soda glasses are so big. I drink a lot of beverages with my meal and it was nice to not have to ask for a refill. Wish I had room for desert because their milkshake options were incredible! Will go back for sure!

Super fast service here. We had breakfast food which I find similar every where. But the potatoes here were cooked perfectly and the biscuits were delicious. You need to get a milkshake to share because they’re yummy and enormous. Also whoever was in charge of the music has great taste. Thanks.

Excellent choices and delicious food! Peach cobbler a la mode was sooo good, rock fish w fries was one of best. Place is very popular and it was a bit loud but once you get your food nothing matters.

One of my favorites. It's been awhile since we had the opportunity to eat here, but the food is as good as it has always been.
My wife had a Reuben Sandwich, I opted for something a little different, ordering a Cowboy Burrito from the "Specials" menu. It was packed with flavor and the portion was definitely more than enough.
