Chesterfield County Public Schools Administration Building

Yesterday the middle school track reginals was hed at meadowbrook hs. during rainy conditions. The field was partially wet but the meet was continued. Not postponing the event was a calculative mistake from the very beginning simply from a safety standpoint. However when significant amount of showers ensued at 630pm. the kaos from event coordinators was was totally unacceptable. The kids involved in this event was thoroughly soaked and some even shivering because of this weather. Two events were ran in the midst of heavy showers. Again totally unacceptable. The event was then called at approximately 715pm a full 35 minutes after this heavy downpour of rain started. I am a new commer to Chesterfield va. And was at this event watching my grandson. I have been told by my son that Chesterfield values children well being at the utmost. This was not evident yesterday. I hope this observation is received as a call to reevaluate your procedures for future events that might occur under similar conditions.
