Riptides Seafood Restaurant

Exceptionally impressed! First time coming to this restaurant and it served as the perfect date night spot for my partner and I. It took a little time to be seated but once we were everything was seamless. Our server Callie was sweet, attentive and patient. She accommodated my special requests with a smile. While my mojito was a little on the sour side for my preference, I did appreciate being able to have a mocktail. The menu is full of so many options to choose from. I got the Riptides Special… it has a mix of this and that. Food was delicious which will be the very reason we'd return for another dinner here.

We went here to celebrate a birthday and everything was fabulous. Two people had lovely fruity mixed drinks and we shared bacon wrapped ocean scallops and gator bites.
Seating inside or outside and they had sun umbrellas at the tables.
The rib-eye looked amazing and we had scallops, oysters, shrimp, crab cakes, and salmon. All was amazing.
Staff was attentive and there were enough of them that they didn't seem rushed, even though it was fairly busy.
This was my first time and I will definitely be going back!

Very popular place! Casual family atmosphere. We met with family members for a group dinner at Riptides on a Saturday evening. They don't do reservations, so get there early with a large group! Service was very good, the servers were VERY busy and working hard. The restaurant was packed so noise level was higher than I expected. Atmosphere was busy and friendly.
I had seared scallops that were perfectly cooked. Husband had baked catfish that was very good, but he will try blackened next time. We will be back! Highly recommended.

I/we had a very pleasant experience, the service was very good and the food tasted great. Their outdoor patio is a highlight and a very nice part of the experience.

I have been here over 15 times and have not had a SINGLE negative experience. The food is always cooked to perfection, seasoned well and comes out at the right temperature. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The desserts, especially the cheesecakes, are NEXT LEVEL! I am already anticipating my next visit!

Riptides was great and I highly recommend it! They offer seafood with a southern twist. Our waitress was extremely polite and the wait for our food was short. We ordered the lobster ravioli with the house salad. Both were delicious and filling. We also ordered the crab bites as an appetizer and were very pleased with them as well! My complements to the chef. I would easily come here again!

Very good seafood and service , I had the 12oz steak with Coconut rice and broccoli.... Seafood Combo was absolutely the best and adult drinks was great ... Wings for appetizer with Tai glaze. Went back again

I have been going to this restaurant for little over a year and never had a plate of food I didn't like. The service is top notch and cleanly. They also appreciate the glow gear I have. The wife and kid are always happy with the food as well. Had dinner last night the lobster Mac and a ribeye was delicious finishing for lunch today. Keep up the great work riptide we love it.

I’ve been here a number of times but decided to write a review this time. Riptides is a great place for a dinner date or just a casual lunch meeting. The atmosphere is nice and the food is delicious. A lot of options for pescatarians, such as myself. I had the coconut shrimp which were out of this world, strawberry pecan salad and shrimp scampi. Whatever you decide to get, I promise you won’t be disappointed with the selection.

Beautiful restaurant and fantastic dining staff! Our waiter, Stevan, was excellent and attentive. Everyone was nice from the beginning and even apologized about the wait (10-15 minutes on a super busy Friday). The starters came out literally a minute after we ordered and they were hot and delicious! Whole meal was very enjoyable and will be recommending this place for more dinners in the future.

Excellent service and food. Was happy to tip 20 percent!

Visited again still very nice atmosphere. Main lobster tails were a bit chewy this time around though. Overall I was pleased. Huge portions.

What a delicious and delightful spot. First off, the music was a whole vibe. I almost forgot where I was. Everything from SWV, Michael Jackson, Temptations to Mary J Blige. I was shooting. I was meeting a friend in the area and he said the food wouldn't disappoint and he was right.

I started out wanting shrimp. I mean, it's VA, Duh. So, I got their firecracker shrimp, and they were delicious. The shrimp was fresh and large with a delectable spicy Thai sauce and a bed of spring mix to garnish. The sauce and peppery greens really meshed well together. We indulged in the shrimp plate with a classic loaded backed potato and cheesy broccoli. I settled on 2 hugemoungus crack cakes with a tangy and zesty romulade. I wanted to balance the meal with their sweet potato casserole and large heavy battered sweet onion rings.

The Crab cakes were fully favored with a comfortable amount of seasoning and a bright lemon infusion throughout each meaty bite. The robust romulade really enchanted the sweetness of the cake. The sweet casserole was also palatable and played well with the cake. I wanted the sweetness. However, the onion ring shocked me. They were high, delicious, and very sweet. I wasn't expecting it. The specific sauce for them also enhanced the flavor profile. They were crispy and strong and not overly greasy. I loved the taste of them.

This spot is a hidden gem. Run don't walk. I thoroughly enjoyed my food and the establishment. Great comply chill spot that's not uptight or pretentious.

We stopped in for lunch. The food was fantastic! My husband and I split a starter of hush puppies. He had the daily special of red snapper sandwich. He really enjoyed it. I had crab bites and she crab soup. They were both excellent! The serving of hush puppies was so generous that we ended up taking some home.
Service was great and the atmosphere was relaxing.

First time here, I didn't know what to expect but was surprisingly surprised by everything. Food service and vibe was great. Definitely a family restaurant too.

Been here multiple times it is always great. Plenty of parking, never a long wait. The staff is super friendly and the food is top notch. Definitely the best seafood in town.

Nice size portions of food. Waitress was on top of things with the crowd we had. The She Crab Soup was very filling and tasted great.

Me and my wife ate here for the 1st time , we had gator bites as an appetizer she had fish and chips and I just had a salad(chicken). Not a big seafood person but the fish was good. Staff were great, environment was nice as well.

Enjoyable experience overall, will definitely return at some point. Stopped in for a late lunch and there was an unexpected rush with short staff but they were friendly and attentive nonetheless.

Started with the gator bites with remoulade sauce which was an absolutely delicious dish. Had the snapper special for the entree which was pretty decent. Only complaint was that the fries and hush puppies were over done. The hush puppies had great flavor though and will definitely want to try them again.

Amazing week night specials and everything was amazing! Obviously the crab dip was our favorite because we ate it all immediately!! The menu is perfect with a lot of options to make everyone in the family happy. great deals on oysters and appetizers. Highly recommend

This has become one of our favorite places to celebrate special occasions. The food is great, the service is pretty good and I say that become sometimes they get petty busy, but when you're good that should be an expectation. I'd definitely recommend giving them a try.
