LaPrade Library - Chesterfield County Public Library

This is one of many libraries in chesterfield that are very kid friendly! The outside can use more curb appeal but overall a good library, never seems to be too busy..always clean. They have a nice organized kids section with legos, puzzles, and more to keep little busy. They also display local school art projects etc. My child is always excited to see the class artwork on display. There are plenty of FREE resources here that people do not realize.

Free kid & adult classes, events and more. Sometimes registration fills quickly but they also have waitlist. We visit all the libraries to take advantage of the chesterfield resources. You can also check out a state park bag here to use as a local guide & activities when in the park.

Great spacious library and our favorite place to review or just focus and read in. Clean bathrooms, friendly librarians and there was never a time that we couldn't find a free table or chair to sit in. For laptop users there are power ports on most of the study tables so it is great for people who have old laptops that needs constant energy (like mine). Also have private study cubicles available (first come first serve & a 2 hout limit if there are others signed up waiting). Definitely recommend this library

Friendly staff, great selection of books, and even toys for the kiddos to check out (like the xylophone). Lots of great activities for all ages. Nice and quiet place to discover your next literary adventure.

I love this place. There are so many outlets, places to sit, the wifi is a decent speed, and the employees are so kind. Definitely recommend!

I've been enjoying LaPrade for over a year now, having moved close to it. The space, the people, the arrangement of books. The children's section is even sized for little people, with shelves no taller than three feet. Board and picture books are separated from the advanced young readers. The catalogue computers are readily and easily available. There is even a 3D printer waiting for small projects to work on (ask at the front desk).
The traffic is generally fine, light and easy to cross, though accessing the library will require a car, as there are no sidewalks in this area of Hull street. There is disabled access, a medium sized conference room, two restrooms and water fountain. Plenty of parking space.

Super nice, great selection, helpful staff. They have got a nice selection of cheap books for sale, two bucks for hard back and one dollar for paperback. I love all the natural light coming in, super cozy.

Great library! It’s a pretty decent size and very clean when I went. I feel like they have a large selection of books verses the one I go to which is Chester location. I feel like books I always want are here and have to be transferred. But was happy to have the option of coming here to get a book if I need too

Barbara Ferrara is the Ultimate Librarian. She's the Merlin of books. I've known her for 20 years. She's the branch manager of Laprade and she (also) functions as one of the regional managers of the library system. She has a heart of gold.

Laprade is a beautiful library with a great layout, and features many free programs including 3D Printing from 3-4:30PM (the first Monday of the month) and From Book to Movie Night featuring popcorn and soda (for FREE).

This Library is in a good location...can Always find what I need and never had to wait for a computer. Excellent Community and Service Board...you can post your business cards their.

These ladies were super wonderful. I just moved and needed important documents printed off and they were kind and patient.

Staff helped in locating a book and placed it on hold and assisted in finding another similar book to read while waiting for the book that was requested.
