Just 4 Kids Pediatric Dentistry & Sedation- Chester VA

I had a dental emergency with my 2 year old. They got me in at the earliest appointment. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Doctor Sheffield was incredible. Was able to get into my daughters mouth although she was in a lot of pain. She was very knowledgeable and informative and even dealt with my new mom anxiety for a couple days after with a few phone calls with no judgment! My daughter left there in all smiles even though she was hurting. The dental assistant we had as well was very nice and helpful. Was very impressed how well my daughter took to everyone in this office! Definitely recommend.

We're new to the area and needed a trustworthy dental clinic for my children who could also provide orthodontic care. I'm very glad we tried Just 4 Kids because the whole staff was friendly, inviting and warm. My son was a little nervous and his hygienist was so sweet to him and helped calm his nerves. Our second appointment was for my daughter's Orthodontic eval. First off, I was running late and called ahead to see if they'd still be able to see us. I was so thankful they were able to work with me! Dr. Burke was fantastic, as was his hygienist, and I feel my daughter is in good hands. I would definitely recommend Just 4 Kids to my friends and family.

We referred to Just for Kids for my sons cavities. He had crowns done along with a couple other things. And we wouldn’t have gone anywhere else!

Staff and Doctors are amazing! They were so kind and personable to him and put him at ease, getting him to sleep and checking on him after! Between Doctors calling and checking in and other staff members checking on him after the procedure, we definitely feel like they care for his well being and how he is doing!

Everything was explained thoroughly and clearly which is much appreciated when a procedure like this is being done to your child.

My child loves it here. The staff are extremely nice & the Dr. has always been gentle & kind. I've never had any complaints & even during the pandemic, they made the new way of checking in a smooth transition. I highly recommend this office.

Extremely efficient and quick. The new physician is very knowledgeable and the staff makes you feel very comfortable. I am impressed! I also felt a more conservative approach where as other dentists will bill as much as possible... I'm glad they care more about the needs of my children. Thank you doctor Tucker!

Even though they have changed the name, I still love the rooms for the patients. Staff is friendly.

Absolutely friendly and helpful staff. Smiling faces from the time we got in till we left. We got there early (with 2 kids) and they got us done in a very timely manner. Would recommend this to all my friends with kids!

Have had 4 different doctors in the last 6 visits - we have been patients there for 7 years. All 3 children have appt usually at same time, never an issue with the scheduling.

This past visit: new office staff, new dentist, new hygienists (sad to see even more new faces), and was told information that "was seen on his last X-rays, but i am not certain why you weren't informed" (child is missing molars from birth).

Same dentist examined my oldest without me being present (she's 11) and sent her out to waiting room and the my other 2 were brought back for exams. My daughter was not present while the dentist talked to me in the hallway about her teeth.

They lost 3 patients that visit. I am very wary of the high staff turn over at the Chester office.

I have had nothing but awful experiences here. They did not get my consent before giving my child medication and then still charged me for it. The fillings they put in fell out within a few months and had to be redone. They had me hold my 3 year old because she was scared. I was just fine holding her on my lap but when they tell me to hold her arms and then they pry her mouth open while she screamed the whole time, I AM NOT OKAY WITH THAT! My daughter is now 4 and TERRIFIED of any dentist. I have since switched dentists and they didn't print all the records I needed to transfer so I had to go through the records myself and go back into the office and tell them I needed ALL of the records. I would suggest looking hard for a good pediatric dentist.

New to area . My 2 1/2 year old needs some work done which i knew. But the doctor came up with a plan that i was responsible for 7,000 of it Before she did surgery. When i told her we couldnt afford that she insisted that we needed to have all that work done and they could not modify the plan. needless to say we will be getting a second opinion from another dentist.

My 5 year granddaughter needed work done and it would cost 1200.00 . I had majority of the payment. $900.00 and asked could I make payments. The assistant that was letting me know what I needed to do was trying to help, however, when she was asking could I make payments for the rest, they told her no. She was trying to help, however, the dentist said no. I asked could he at least do the major teeth that were major problems. He said that he rather do them all do she would not have a bad experience. She needed the work done. But they would not do any of them.That’s a lot of money for teeth that will fall out. I wanted some assistance for the teeth that where bothering her but he would not do any. Do you leave a child in pain? Some may think 1200 is nothing, that’s not the whole bill, that’s my out of pocket expense.

If i could give them no star i would.. the woman dentist there numbed my 9 yr old son and gave him laughing gas to get 1 molar removed. After an hour of her sticking a needle into my sons gum to numb it. Yes ( he was nervous scared and uncomfortable as most kids are at a dentist) THIS WOMAN REFUSED TO PULL THE TOOTH AFTER NUMBING HIM BECAUSE SHE DIDNT FEEL COMFORTABLE PULLING IT!!!!!!!!!!! Im sorry WHAT???? I am beyond livid that my son had to endure that traumatic experience and not even have the broken infected tooth taken out!!!! What kind of dentist refuses to do their job after putting a child through all that. Im hurt and upset and shocked. I will never go back here!!!!!

My granddaughter has been there a couple times in the past year. Every time she is supposed to have an appointment,they call say they need to reschedule. They called in May and cancelled her appointment once again. Said they would call me back next week. Guess what?! It's July and still no call from them!! This is the worst place I have ever seen!! Take my advice and find another dentist!!

They scheduled my son's appointment at THEIR lunchtime therefore they closed the building and we had to wait outside alongside another family. Also they scheduled another appointment for my son and when I called to confirm the appointment a couple days in advance they inform me they have a new doc that wouldn't start until a month after my sons appointment. No one called to inform me of anything
