Bon Secours - Chester Family Medicine

I was looking for a doctor for my husband and myself after having major blood pressure problems with my former doctor I went to for over 15 years and kept receiving horrible care. I found Dr. Port and he was like magic. His bedside manner was amazing and his diagnostic techniques were fantastic, a truly old school doctor. Then after 2 years of my husband and I going to this office Dr. Port moves out of state. I was heartbroken because he was the first doctor my husband actually trusted. When the switch happened we felt we received poor care, Dr. Lingler was a bit standoffish, the front desk was robotic but the nurses were always kind. I decided to give them another chance even after being told they did not provide care for patients involved in a car accident and I had to find another doctor, (I was furious!!!)
I am glad I gave them another chance. Dr Lingler was so personable and sweet my next visit and I felt comforted. My husband fell in “Medical Love” 😂 with the nurse practitioners one of which he would see before he sees Dr. Lingler! Change is hard especially when one finds a fantastic doctor like I did in Dr. Port. I feel in the beginning stages of the office change were growing pains and understand NO DOCTOR OR PA OR NURSE ASSISTANT OR NURSE GOES INTO THESE FIELDS WITH THE INTENTIONS OF GIVING POOR CARE!! This is a dedicated team with your care in mind. Like the other negative reviews said yes this IS a business and yes there were changes made but they were made to keep up with the new changes to fall in line with updated formats now used to communicate our medical needs in a timely manner. I won’t go anywhere else for care.

These guys are great, Dr. Lingler is very approachable and all the nurse practitioners are very conscientious and caring. Things have changed over the past few years, which I guess is why some people are upset. The previous docs always kept throwing more meds at me, didn't really listen. The new staff took me off some stuff and I actually feel better as a result.

Also love the convenience of checking my labs and making appts through the patient portal.

My family started using this practice when we moved from to Chester in 2019. Terry Smith is AMAZING and takes the time to listen to what you have to say! She’s tuned into you and is such a kind hearted provider. My son loves seeing her! Everyone is very friendly at the front office and attentive. I cannot recommend this practice enough!

Dr. Stennett was my doctor as a child. I have been through many doctors in my time, and ended up coming back to this practice because their level of care exceed all the others. I never have a long wait, and I always leave feeling as though my care is the upmost concern. I have been back with them for 8 + years and I probably pass around 10-12 different family practices on my 45 minute drive to them, but I feel it is worth the drive!!! Early morning appointments guarantee the flexibility needed for my work schedule. Love them all!!!

Dr Lingler is a wonderful Dr and always takes her time to make sure everything is discussed and taken care of. Staff is always friendly and very polite.

Dr. Terry Smith is wonderful. So glad we changed from the previous provider.

Precious review edited. The issue I had with this practice was 100% resolved and included a professional apology. I am very satisfied with my care at this practice.

Even at turn over I never had a negative experience. I appreciate Dr Lingler and the staff.

Most of the negative reviews and those complaining about missing the old doctors ACTUALLY mean they miss getting their narcotics, so there understandably bitter they lost their hook up.

wouldn't make appointment for the next day, wanted me to call the next day at 8am and make it. my doctor is great, appointments is not. how crazy im sick

I chose this facility because I thought it was better than the one I was with yet I find it is worse I have called numerous times told what to do clicked on 1 - 3- 0 phone rings next thing I hear is CLICK. you say 12pm is not busy i find that untrue i have called. I needed answer about Asthma machine medicine no answer phone ringing. answering patients question poor. This has happen since enrolled. unable to reach anyone. If you post something than you must make sure it is done. I Rate service

I was a patient here from 1987 to recently and their service has completely gone down hill recently. A lot of the staff that I have had interactions with this year have been rude and not very helpful. I will not be back.

Please listen to the previous reviews along with my own. This office should not be in business and should be shut down until they learn how to effectively communicate with patients. Heather is very rude, acts entitled and hung up in my face as I was trying to figure out why I needed to come into the office to get my serious medical condition form filled out which has always been filled out by Dr. Terry Smith's team when it was time for renewal. At no time was I made aware that I needed to be seen should a doctor choose to leave their practice. She spoke to me as if I was supposed to know that already and not be informed. I now have to pay for a visit to see some new doctor and have to wait a month to be seen. This form protects me for when my electricity bill is in danger of being turned off. Had I known I would have to wait this long, I would have been made an appointment. However, no one made me aware of it. I will be filing a complaint against this office and sharing my experience as being hung up did it for me. Heather, shame on you! If you do not like your job, find another one where you can be taught how to treat patients and speak with them respectfully. We do not owe you anything. However, you owe us respect.

The office is exceptionally rude and dismissive. Kimberly Plummer in particular was incredibly terrible to deal with. Complained about having work "pawned off on her" by a previous doctor. The previous doctor being from where I used to live, and the work being asked of her to look at symptoms currently experienced. She's incredibly condescending, and had to google the best medication to prescribe during the appointment. Avoid this office.

Bon Secours has a lot of good doctors and excellent hospitals; sadly this practice missed out on the talent! I do remember Daniel kashdan NP having an abrasive form of health care, Dr Kimberly Lingler was an arrogant/opinionated doctor and Terry Smith NP didn't know the difference between allergy and asthma medication. The office manager was rude. The doctors have limited medical experience and appear clueless to what's going on! The practice appears to have a problem keeping quality doctors or patients who prefer to make this a long term family practice!
