Croaker's Spot Richmond

Our server was Ya Ya and Journey was the floor manager. Outstanding service from both. Our entrees were the fried fish boat (whiting) and for me, fried catfish and shrimp. Excellent and the portions were huge. Sides were delicious—red potatoes and cheese grits. The cornbread is sweet—almost like a cake. Highly recommend.

Overall dining at this restaurant was delightful from start to finish. The food was fresh and full of flavor. Croakers stands out for the charming atmosphere, we felt welcomed and had a few laughs with our waitress Jameelah.

Our server Ya Ya was the best. She served us with Excellence!

I passed this place a few years ago & wanted to stop, but I didn’t…….& I’m glad that I didn’t, because the company I had at the time would’ve ruined the experience.
This spot is ALL THAT. The atmosphere, music, food, drinks & even our waitress was superb & real cute.
I ordered the veggie fish boat. The portions were plentiful. I will be returning & looking forward to visiting the Petersburg location.

We visited the Croaker’s Spot on Labor Day. We planned to visit another restaurant but it was closed and lucky for us because the food here was good! We ordered the Eggleston’s Fried Fish Boat and Famous Fish and Shrimp Fry. We substituted one of the sides for mac and cheese.
The food was nostalgic and gave me a sense of home. The fish tasted like it came out of my grandma’s kitchen years ago. The mac tasted like my family cooked it as well. The cornbread was huge…I didn’t finish it all but it was good.
I would recommend this place.

Wowwwwww the food was maddd goooood. Truck driver was doing a layover in Richmond and found this spot and I’m glad I did. I’ve been to many restaurants across the states and this has been one of the best I tasted. The flavors were so amazing. Whenever I’m in Richmond I know where to eat. Thank you please continue to stay great.

Woooo baby! Totally enjoyed my crab cake dinner. Had plenty to take home. Everything was seasoned to perfection. We all have dinner for tomorrow. The atmosphere was so inviting and the background music brought back memories! I'll be back!

Simply delicious and I read today 7/5 they are a best restaurant for would food I AGREE!! I went 7/2 after a jazz event it was the best soul food in Richmond yes being from the south ..I know..fish excellent nice portions.. Mac and cheese the best yams super duper great!! The lady I met while sitting at bar had the chicken wings she said superb as well .. I will return everytime I'm in Richmond? Aliza the barmaid was perfect perfect service.. place nice...

Loved the fried fish and cheesy grits with scrambled eggs. The cornbread is a delight. My friends loved the sweet and savory shrimp and grits. It's worth the wait, and the food tastes like what my grandmothers would have made.

So happy my daughter thought about this spot. We was seated quickly and soon greeted by our server Jamilla with a big smile and she was so helpful from start to finish. The food was amazing. Fast, Fresh and Hot and zero complaints. If you're n the richmond area give them a try, you won't be disappointed

This black owned spot was so dope!! The atmosphere was so smooth and laid back. They played smooth r&b music while we ate and the service was spectacular! The food was absolutely amazing I got the chicken, shrimp, turkey sausage blackened pasta. It was amazing. 😋

I ordered the Crab Cake Dinner and my husband the Ultimate Feast. Dessert pineapple coconut cake. Everything was seasoned very good not too salty or spicy.
Overall a delicious experience with a side of cornbread left for a late night snack 😋

It's first come, first serve, but they did accommodate a group of 8 people which was my family for Christmas so that was great. Long wait, but the food was worth it. 20 minutes top was the wait, but when you have as many as people as we did the weight doesn't seem so long.

Great ambience, our waiter Joshua was the best waiter we've had in long time. He gave us suggestions, read the menu and top plates for us very informative and cordial. Food was great and very well presented, great atmosphere and if you love seafood this is great spot!

I got the fried seafood platter with grits and rice for sides (I know). The fish are shrimp were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The grits were some of the best I've had in a while. The hunk of cornbread was light and fluffy the way Granny used to make it. I will return if I am in the Richmond area again.

If I could have ordered an extra stomach to finish this deliciousness, I would've. If you ever visit Richmond, VA and looking for soul food... this IS IT!!!

We enjoy the atmosphere and the customer service. The food was awesome.

Was able to dine in on a Sunday after 2 PM, without a wait time. Our waitress China India was outstanding. The food portions are still huge. You have enough for another meal. I ordered 4 pcs fried fish, with sides of mac n cheese (taste like sour cream is blended in which I don't like, but it's cheesy plus great with the candied yams.), candied yams (are most definitely candied yams like in the South), cheesy grits (grits were too thick for my liking), and it came with the famous cornbread. The strawberry lemonade was good as well. Will dine in again.
