Village Wine Shop and Tasting Room

This adorable shop on one of the main streets in Langley is worth your time and money. The super kind owner is friendly, patient, and knowledgeable about his love for Whidbey Island and Washington and Oregon wines. We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting and time with the owner and a Langley local. Can’t wait to go back!

What an absolute gem!! The Village Wine Shop brings a beautiful blend of expert masterful knowledge of amazing PNW wines and a warm Whidbey Island community vibe. The owner Rick has an astute caring attention to detail and always steers me in the right direction for the perfect bottle (or two) His sweet dog Gus is just the icing on the cake. Often there’s excellent live music on Sundays with local talent! Come in for a visit and enjoy the celebratory energy!

This shop is awesome! Rick the owner is a character. Every time we go to Langley we spend an hour or two sipping wine here and chatting with the local characters who come through. Often there's some live music as well. Oh, the wine is fantastic too :)

The guy who runs this place, Rick, and his adorable dog Gus, are absolute treasures. Rick is very knowledgable and carries only local washington and oregon wines, as well as a few bottle of saki. We did a tasting here that was great and had a wonderful chatting with Rick. If i lived near by i would get all my wine here just to hang out with Rick. Check this place out if you want to drink wine or do some shopping, you wont regret it.

Fabulous wine shop! The store specializes in Washington and Oregon wines and Japanese sake. It might seem like an eclectic mix, but the owner has a reason for it; you should ask about it! The wines are organized by price instead of the usual location or alphabetical winery name. Organizing by price makes it so easy and convenient to stay in your budget. I'm picky about Chardonnays, but the owner have me a great recommendations for Alexana and it was so crisp and delicious! The store is great and the owner is an upstanding guy. Be sure to also say 'hi' to Gus the dog!

My wife and I stopped in to wine taste and really enjoyed the wine selection for the tasting! Rick, the owner, was fantastic! We really enjoyed chatting with him and also enjoyed his sweet dog, Gus. We for sure will plan to come back to Langley and will definitely stop in here again to hopefully see Rick and Gus. Stop in here for sure if you’re in Langley!

Nina was welcoming, easy going and friendly. Her dog, Gus was mellow and minded his own business in the shop. The shop is clean and well organized. The tasting for $10 was lovely! Definitely recommend stopping in and can’t wait to go back!

Stopped by randomly with our 2 and 5 year old to see if we could sneak a wine tasting in. Thanks for allowing 2 crazy kids to watch their iPad and still letting us try some awesome curated wines paired with great conversation. Highly recommend! 🍷🍷

Sweet little shop and yummy variety of wine. I have a new obsession with a raspberry wine the owner recommended.

Amazing little wine store!

On a Sunday evening I called in a take out pizza order. I was told it would be 90 mins, so I said that was fine. Later after giving them my order I was told it would only be 60 mins. After picking up my pizza I noticed it wasn't very warm and probably was sitting there for 30 mins. Also, the pizza had very little cheese and skimpy toppings. The taste was ok, but not that great. I can't recommend this place.

Came here on Saturday did a tasting and bought a bottle. Came back on Sunday and they had live music with people drinking at the establishment. The owner was playing the harmonica with the band. He said he would come help us with wine when he was done. He didn't have time so we picked a wine for purchase. He suggested we buy the winery branded wine instead. I agreed. I asked if he could open the wine so we could enjoy it in the shop (to enjoy the music) however he said it was against the rules even though this is the same wine offered for tastings. Was extremely disappointed on the approach to sell the local winery brand after waiting 20 mins for service to then be told we couldn't stay and have a glass and enjoy the live music.

Really nasty message from the owner 2 years after I left an uncomplementary review on his Yelp page. Don't wear your prescription sunglasses into his shop. His law says you have to remove them so he can see your eyes before he'll give you a pour. He discriminates and he's a liar in his message 2 years later. He must really be an angry and bored person to lie about the situation TWO years later. Read his reviews. Condescending towards women and on a power trip. Stay away, better tasting rooms all over the island where you'll be treated with respect as a paying customer and be able to wear your sunnies if you so choose.
