Yesterday my wife and I did tandem hanggliding flight lessons. She did 3000 ft and I did 1500 ft. The staff from check in to the flight were absolutely amazing. It was worth every bit of the 4 hour drive to get there. If you want to try out hanggliding or honestly anything they offer I highly recommend using them, I can promise you won't regret the decision.

We are blessed to have this extraordinary place with very friendly staff and flying community. Is a great place to fly in a tandem paraglider or hanglider with experienced instructors. It is a very safe flying site with an generous landing zone. The flight school is second to none. If you pursue the dream of flying, this is a great place to start.

Whether a seasoned veteran, a low hours novice pilot, or an absolute beginner, LMFP has everything a paraglider pilot/student could ask for. The launch is well maintained, and so is the massive landing zone. If you’re new, fantastic glass off days are frequent. The ridge offers excellent soaring, with spectacular views. Tandem flights are also available, with some world class pilots. If you’re in the market for new gear, they have that covered too.

The staff, instructors, locals, and regulars, create a great environment for learning and fellowship. Even if your feet never leave the ground, Lookout is always a great experience.

Lookout is an exceptional school, and I can’t say enough about the instructors. In addition to being phenomenal pilots, the instructors are all really patient and just fun to be around.

If you’re serious about becoming a pilot, this is the place to go. You’ll learn everything you need to know about how gliders work, how to set them up and maintain them, how to do proper safety checks and preflights, and how to fly in different conditions (and how to do so safely).

The office staff are also all really lovely. I had to make a bunch of changes to my flight schedule because of the holidays, and they were great about working with my schedule.

These folks have an amazing crew running an incredibly efficient operation here.

I had a ton of fun with Mikey. He is a great instructor - he gave me the controls and talked me through several maneuvers, stalls, and even landing!

This is my second hang gliding experience, and definitely the best.

Looking around at the scenery while you're at altitude is hard to beat. These aren't the Midwestern farmlands anymore.

We came with a rather large group (six) and were worried a bit about timing with other events, but they ended up getting us through super fast, as they had multiple planes pulling wings up to 3000 feet and coming right back down to grab the next.

Lookout Mountain Flight Park provides a once-in-a-lifetime experience with tandem paragliding flights over the scenic North Georgia mountains. The pilots are friendly, answering all your questions and ensuring thorough safety measures so you can fully enjoy yourself. I personally enrolled in their paragliding lessons, enabling me to fulfill my dream of flying solo. I highly recommend this location for experienced pilots or first-timers looking to enjoy the skies for a day!

Is there ever a time when you don't need to get out and disconnect from technology and just be outside for a while? The answer is no.
We stayed at one of their adorable little studio Airbnb's on the launch site field.
It was adorable, cozy and there is literally not a bad seat in the house view wise. Don't even get me started on the stargazing, Jupiter was so bright and I actually got a picture of it's moons, totally unexpected.
Now to the good part! Flying lessons are hands down one of the best experiences I have ever had thus far. I would recommend going late summer early fall and go early or late, mid day is always more windy. And if you can, go during the week that's your best bet on getting the time of day you want.

LOVED IT!!
EXPERIENCE LIKE NO OTHER ❤❤❤

I would highly recommend trying hang gliding. The trainer was very professional and friendly. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I got strapped in, followed the instructions and the small plane got us up super high and we were on our own up in the sky. 🫣🫣🫣

I was a teeny bit scared, but mostly excited 🥰🥰🥰
For me, it felt like I was flying on a dragon 🐉
I will definitely be back 😎😎

My whole adult family had a great weekend of instruction on the training hill. Involves some sprinting so prepare those hamstrings well in advance. We plan to come back for more.

Lookout Mountain Flight Park is THE place to go for learning to soar into the open air with a hang glider or paraglider. Their staff are some of the friendliest people and the many instructors have a truly impressive range of experience and insight into the sport. Top notch training facilities, with all the equipment youll need, are set up with a safety and responsibility first mindset.
I started my experience with LMFP with a tandem flight where you soar through the air like an eagle with a professional pilot a few thousand feet up above the gorgeous rolling foothills in Trenton, GA. Talk about amazing! I was immediately hooked and signed up with classes to learn how to fly myself that day. The entire training process was incredible with support from the staff and the local community who are all so welcoming to new pilots and visitors. Throughout the process I was able to rent, and then eventually purchase, all the equipment I needed from the well stocked pro shop on site. I love my Falcon and fly every chance I get with friends Ill hold dear forever.

If youre looking for one of the best experiences of your life, at a place unlike any other, fly with us all here at Lookout for some life changing, soul filling fun.

Absolutely a wonderful experience! Stayed in RV area (Bob was super friendly and helpful)! We both went up to 1500'. I was with Tim, he was with Ozzie -- and both were excellent!

Great great experience!! If you are up for some adventure then this is it! We booked for tandem flight for 3000 ft height but we couldn't do it on the day because of some technical issues so they generously upgraded our flight to 14000 ft flight plus free pictures which was amazing! Staff is really good and they will give you all the information about the flight before hand. I miss the name of my pilot but he was super cool. He let me fly the glider for quite a long time which I enjoyed the most!

I HAD AN ABSOLUTE BLAST! WHAT A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!
The entire office staff and all of the hang gliding instructors are highly experienced and true professionals within the hang gliding and aviation world. Everyone was very patient and understanding from the beginning of my conversation with each person. Each reviewed every possibility and took his time going through the complete process giving me a review of what is involved in starting and about the progression of the learning curve for gaining a new skill. Each consistently took the time to break the flow of the conversation to ensure I was completely understanding every bit of information. Their experience and service ethic left no gaps for questions, I ended up with a head full of fantastic information. The info leveraged against my own research helped me make my decision of how far I wanted to go and what I wanted to complete. The staff never exerted pressure or sales tactics, they wished only to serve to inform the interested and to be immediately available for any questions.

For those who are uncertain they offer Tandem flights with an instructor towing you in an ultralight, you only need to hang and communicate with the pilot to gain a “what’s it like” experience. There are also package deals that include training on their tiny bunny hill with progression to the small, and then the big hill. You can approach each hill only after you have proven your skills before you graduate to your next challenge. It is reassuring to know the purchase is good for 2 years, which was a concern, as at my tenure on this planet, stuff wiggles a bit and gets tender, even though I consider myself in excellent condition for my years.

The value of their accommodations is great and you will end up saving some of your hard earned money as nearby State Parks, Lodges, and Campgrounds are all more expensive than their rates. Just pitching a tent in the nearby Cloudland Canyon is going to cost you north $30 per night. LMFP has a campground at the LZ with nearby facilities and a tiny charge of $5 a night. I opted for a bit more comfort, their Pentagon cabins, which is barely twice the price of pitching a tent in a state park. I must inform you they are rustic, and small, so if you bring a feminine partner or if you're a couple, the feminine mate may not be happy. For this I would suggest one of the upgraded cabins with a porch that faces the LZ as these cabins are newer and larger. I am not knocking the P cabins, they are just more rustic and smaller. I stayed 5 nights in a P cabin and it was plenty of comfort for a single person. Comparing the P cabins to a tent, the P cabins are “Glamping”. The cabins have a window unit with AC, Fan, and Dehumidifier and it keeps the small space more than comfortable. There was a nice size bed with clean and fresh linens and a mini kitchen with what you need to cook. There is a tiny kitchen with a double kitchen sink and an electric two burner stove. The cabin is stocked with a few plates, cups, and a bit of flatware and includes a mix of cooking utensils, pots, and pans. There is a mini bathroom with a full toilet and a mini vanity sink with hot and cold water. There is a full size bath/shower fiberglass type and plenty of hot water, believe me, you are going to need it. The P cabins include a full size refrigerator and freezer which made them a better value than any motel/hotel.

I was provided with all the required safety gear and the flight instructors closely monitored my progress as I was learning how to fly. Remember, speak up and communicate with your instructor. LMFP has strict safety policies in place, and they enforce them as they should, no need for stupid human tricks in any real sport. I am very impressed with the level of safety at LMFP and I always felt confident that I was in good hands. I knew that my safety was always everyone's top priority.

I had a great interest in this place. When we were able to visit, there was a strong cross wind, non-conducive for safe or successful flying. We took in the gorgeous Georgia vista, and snapped a few pictures before leaving.

Growing up, I spent my summers near Ellenville, NY. I had older cousins and friends that flew. They’d fly up over the mountain and say hello as we swam in the pool of my Nanny’s house. It’s always been something I wanted to do!
Jay was so fun, so good at explaining things, and just so much fun! I can’t wait to go back and I REALLY can’t wait to learn to fly on my own! It was truly magical!!!

Took family and friends for the tandem flight. Had a blast. The team explained what to expect and guided us through every step of the flight. We got to “fly” the glider and the landing is a rush. Thanks, guys.
