Stone Mountain Park Campground

Beautiful park, comfortable and pleasant places. Very friendly staff. We were in the Blue Sites. Beautiful views on this edge. There needs to be a little renovation to the bathrooms however they were kept clean. And also on the road. We couldn't climb the stone mountain due to a family mishap and we had to leave early. We will surely return and enjoy its natural beauty and attractions even more. Here I share some photos.

The laser light show was really good. The kids loved it. The drone show was awesome. Not alot to do at the amusement park but still a lot of family fun. Campground was perfect I felt. Easy to set up. Easy to find the campsite . Had a good view. I have a 38 ft camper and had plenty of room to set up in camp site with plenty of room around camper.

My husband and I have been going to Stone Mountain Campground since 2018. It started out just a one-time visit. But the first visit, my husband had two grandma seizures and ended up in Atlanta Trama Center for a week. When it came time to leave the camp ground. They took me in like family. I was staying in a yurt. They made sure I was safe until I could take my husband home just like family. We come back every year and are still treated the same. Nice, quiet, family oriented, There are sites for tents, small and large campers, and yurts. Also, there are fire pits and charcoal grills. On site, there's a small store for things you might have forgotten or drinks ,wood, etc. A big screen TV on site to watch and a swimming pool. It sat right off of Stone Mountain Lake beautiful view. Right beside the Camp ground is is Stone Mountain. If you like to camp, this is a must. You won't regret it.

Beautiful campground . Sites were gravel and nicely outlined. Large sites amongst tall pines. Stayed in site 226. Bath house very close by. We were there Dec 23-27 so could see Stone Mountain thru the trees across the lake. Will stay here again. lots to do at the park

First time camping in a yurt and first at Stone Mountain. We absolutely love the campground and enjoyed all the amenities. Got to climb the mountain and see the laser show Holiday event. Beautiful view and awesome hiking adventures.

We stayed here for about 5 days in late July, and the campground itself was peaceful, and next to the lake. It wasn't like some campgrounds that have a water park etc. It was really peaceful and comfortable. The park, including the mountain, the lake, the kayaking and scenery have more than enough to keep a family with kids very much occupied and happily entertained. Each site had a fire ring, and it was a really great experience for us. Would recommend if you're looking for a peaceful and beautiful camping experience with plenty to do. 👍🏼

Clean campground, clean bathrooms and showers. No swimming in the lake but there is a swimming pool.

The laser light show was nice. Anybody who appreciates music through the ages will enjoy it.

The Walk Up Trail was fun. It gets steep at some points. When you get to the top, appreciate the view.

One of our favorite campgrounds! Beautiful views, friendly staff, clean shower and restroom facilities. Close to many restaurants. Great hiking and kayaking

Stone Mountain is a wonderful park to visit. Whether you want to do the sky ride or camping or just take in the breath taking views, it will leave you in awe.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Stone Mountain Park Campgrounds. We had a site right on Stone Mountain Lake with great views of Stone Mountain. We stayed at camp site #353 in the older part (blue section) of the campgrounds, which offered a nice level partially paved site, clean electric, a fire ring, grill and picnic table. It was a beautiful peaceful and private setting in the woods among the giant Georgia pines. The restroom and shower facility was right around the corner and nice and clean with laundry facilities. If you are looking to camp near Stone Mountain I highly recommend Stone Mountain Park Campgrounds.

We love this RV campground. Every site has a great view as well as a fire pit and grill. Level sites with great hookups. A little pricey but so worth it.

Decently maintained, decent facilities. Careful some of the loops are VERY steep. My truck had a hard time pulling my rig through the hills in the area where I had a reservation. I wasn’t able to get my rig in to the tight spot due to the slope of the main road (and my truck/newbie skills🥴) I went back to the front desk, got a site in a flatter area which was perfect. 🎉 being in the campground was awesome… The access to the park is easy once you understand the loop around the Mountain.

Nice campground, busy but everyone was nice. The spots are a little tight but it is nice. Lots of space. They had awesome events for Halloween though!

We had a great Full hookup site #290 in loop M. Launched my paddle board right from the back of our site, just down the hill. Great view of Stone Mountain.

We went here for camping during Labor Day and loved it so much. You have to book ahead during the holidays weekend but totally worth it. Our spot was right by the water and it the best spot. The breeze from the lake make it less hot and just a step into the water with your boat. The restroom and shower were clean, there is playground for your little one, Punic table and fire pit and grill. Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved it here! Great hikes, pret friendly, couldn’t ask for more!

This is Stone Mountain GA. ( NC also has an equally nice Stone Mountain State Park)

Camping in January gives a different feel for this campground since it was at only about 30 % occupancy when we visited on a weekend. Our site was supposed to have electric but it didn’t work - when we called the response was immediate- seemed like a problem not in the immediate box and they tried to rig something up but it didn’t work very long. When we checked out we let the office know and we got a discount on our bill.
The campsites are nice but on the hillside down toward the lake there was a fair amount of litter and we picked up a lot of small pieces of litter in our campsite.
There is only one restroom/ showers on many loops . However the restroom on our loop was large and clean. Many sites have lake views as well as Stone Mountain views.

We were only able to stay two nights but enjoyed our stay. There would be tons to do here and great history to go with it. Easy to get to the campground and well maintained what we could see. We would definitely stay again,and much longer next time.

I would say overall it good. Will say the age of the campground and the money that goes in the tickets and ownership by the state of GA it should be nicer for campers to park. I noticed that every spot is 5 foot off level. Love this place. My fifth wheel camper was 1 foot off the ground on the front and 6 foot off of the back. That was unlevel. Other than that is was perfect like always.

A really sweet place. Good level RV sites, many with a great view of the lake and mountain. We were right across from the yurts which are at an excellent location. If you are in a big rig, be sure to come in the MAIN ENTRANCE off US78. The other entrance is very narrow and we could barely fit through. The park is curvy and hilly so be sure you are comfortable driving/backing in on this kind of terrain.
