We worked with Modern Concrete for our kitchen renovation 3 years ago. Not only did Justin template everything by hand to ensure that our uneven walls wouldn’t cause gaps between our counter and wall, but also worked closely with us to find the perfect shade of charcoal we wanted. We were so impressed, we also worked with him on a custom “marble look” 60” dining room table last summer that is the conversation piece of our home. It holds up to toddlers eating, red wine rings, and daily family life. The fact we can use normal household cleaner with no special care needed for daily cleaning is the icing on the cake with his products!

Very smooth experience. I love our new bar countertops Justin created and installed for us. Very pleased with how it turned out and the ease of the process.

We love our concrete counter tops! They are exactly what I wanted for the space and the company/owner was a breeze to deal with! My overall experience was great and the finished product is so good! I’m a bullet point type so here are my pros and cons:

Pros

- Industrial look

- Easy to clean (so far I have only had to wipe mine down with a damp cloth)

- Cheaper price point than quartz

- Custom color/thickness

- Beauty marks **As you can see in the pictures, these counter tops have some imperfections (a darker spot, somewhat rough edge, etc.). I love the “built in” character that gives my kitchen. If you are a perfectionist and want everything the same this may not work for you…

- Local company with excellent customer service

Cons

- There is no “see before you buy”. Concrete tops are made specifically for your space. There are samples that you can look at but the end result is revealed upon installation. There isn’t somewhere you can go to pick out a slab.

- Because these counter tops are customized to your space, the time frame from start to finish can be longer than other options. **I didn’t even think about this beforehand and wished I would have planned my calendar accordingly; everything worked out fine in the end though!

A few tips:

- Have all of your faucets and sinks ordered/on site before you schedule your “template” appointment

- There is a small, inset logo added to the counter tops (see picture). **I was aware of this beforehand from a previous customer however, if you are very particular then you may want to discuss placement before your counter tops are poured.

For reference, I went with the charcoal color option and a 1” thickness…had my budget allowed, I would have upgraded to the 2”.

Justin is professional, proficient, and extremely easy to work with! We are extremely pleased with the quality of his work on our basement kitchen countertops and highly recommend him to anyone!

There’s no one as attentive to detail as Justin. He went above and beyond for my project. So grateful and will definitely be using him again. :)
