Amazing Cajun food in Lafayette LA!! Went with the Chicken & Tasso Pasta along with the corn and potato salad. Already planning a return trip! :)

Poche's is my go to Cajun stop when passing through Louisiana. I passed by on a Monday this trip but was too late for the Red Beans and Rice, a true favorite. I had the crawfish etouffee instead and it was very good. Full of crawfish and flavor and a generous portion as well. Do yourself a favor and stop by for a delicious lunch and then take home some meats from the market when you leave.

Delicious étouffée. I’m visiting from out of state and having étouffée was one of the main things I wanted to do and Poche’s did not disappoint! Lots of crawfish in the sauce. The staff were super nice and friendly—the woman who brought out my food (I think the owner?) was very sweet and answered my sightseeing questions. There’s a market with a lot of great looking frozen food that I was sad I could not buy due to not having a way to keep it frozen.

Everything about this place says authentic, genuine, and flavorful. It was my first time here, and I loved the fried chicken, rice dressing, potato salad, and green bean casserole. Very nice open dining room. Friendly service and will answer questions. The owner was friendly and very nice to speak with about his family and restaurant.

Piccadilly-style service in a hometown setting with awesome food. Daily lunch specials. Ate lunch from here 3 out of 4 days in the area (don't judge me) and individual hot meals ranged from $12-18 average. Community style seating (you may be sitting at a long table with people you don't know) or takeout. Get in line, get your food, find a seat. Choices change each day. The plates were packed full and I took some of my meal to go each time. Plus, the meat market is on site and you can grab some things to cook at home later such as fresh sausage, stuffed chickens, etc. This will be my stop every time in Breaux Bridge from now on.

*RECOMMENDED: Hamburger steak (best of anywhere ever been) and BBQ chicken.

Food was excellent! Rice dressing mix is the best in South Louisiana! I thought the plate lunches were a little high until I watched them fix the lunches! You can feed 2 people with 1 plate lunch! Best deal on hot Cajun food anywhere in the south! I have them 5 stars across the board! Being married to the best Cajun cook in Louisiana has me setting the bar really high! Poches is absolutely worth the drive! ❤

What more can I say.. This place is home cooked Cajun food at its finest. If you want true Cajun cooking, come to this place. The staff is fast and helpful, they do plate lunches and let me tell you... It slaps like will Smith at an awards show lol

Great lunch place when you’re in the area. Sunday has bbq chicken, pork steak, crawfish ettoufee, fried catfish and shrimp and lots of sides.

The daily lunch specials are delicious. I also stop in for dinner sometimes as well, best etouffee in Louisiana

We stopped by Poche’s on the way home from Key West. We were looking for some authentic Cajun food.
We ordered the seafood platter comes with shrimp & catfish lightly battered was seasoned to perfection with white rice, we substituted the white rice for the rice dressing sides we got baked beans, potato salad and crawfish ettouffe Im not sure what they put in those baked beans but we sure did want more of it. It was enough for my husband & I to share.
The flavor of this food was to die for! It’s authentic Cajun food for sure. They have a hot table set up, the line was long. The line moved pretty fast to be honest so don’t get discouraged by the line, the food is definitely worth the wait!
They have plenty of desserts, we had to be strong not to buy them bcs then we will eat them all.
You defiantly need to try this place, you will not be disappointed! This is a hidden GEM, you’ll be glad you came. And believe me you’ll be back as we will as well.

I can't say enough about this place this place is wonderful. The food is amazing. The fresh meats and the different varieties are amazing. The customer service is amazing. The place is clean and neat. they are mindful courteous and considerate. If you buy a pie you will be hooked.

I literally drive to Breux Bridge specifically to go to Poche's. The best food you can possibly get. I love a good fried catfish plate from them. The potato salad is always super on point. And don't even get me started on the Coconut Delight pies. Those things are my biggest addictions on earth. Just do yourself a favor and take a trip to Poche's!

Wow!!! Excellent!! Loved it all. Hot food steam table. Frozen food - shrimp gumbo, crawfish etoufee, and shrimp etoufee. Old school candy. So many varieties of sausage and fresh meats. Love the smoked cabbage.

Food was excellent a must try. Just a out of the way place but it was well worth the stop. The food was very good

This is an old fashioned market and restaurant. The wait in line was long, but worth it. The food was excellent and plentiful. Maybe too plentiful. You won't leave this place hungry unless you are doing take out.

Real Cajun food. I got take out at lunch - stuffed pork chops - and came back for crawfish etouffe for supper. Loved the rice dressing side. Everything was perfectly cooked and really tasty. Also very fast. Everyone - staff and customers- were very friendly. If you’re looking for local food and an authentic experience this is it.

Do not sleep on Poche’s! Seriously so good. We got the fried catfish and shrimp with rice dressing, and mashed potatoes and everything was fantastic. Absolutely worth the trip.

Love the Crawfish Ettouffee 😋& bring frozen containers of it home with us. Best we have ever had. Other food options are also delicious. Tried the shrimp & fish last trip 😋
