Great Harvest Bread

We purchased a king cake from here and it was hands down the best I've outside of Louisiana. Cream cheese icing, not too sharp, just rich and delicious. We got the chocolate filling. No regrets.

Walking into Great Harvest Bread is a sensory celebration. The comforting smells of baking bread, the warmth, all the beautifully crafted breads and the offer of samples of warm bread slathered with butter. You never have to buy without first trying. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Our family favorite is the Honey Whole Wheat. For a special treat on Christmas we got the Cinnamon Roll Tree. We heated it in the oven Christmas morning... it was heavenly. A new holiday tradition in our house.

Hands down some of the best homemade bread I’ve ever tasted. The smell when you walk in is amazing you can tell everything there is made fresh daily. I highly recommend harvest bread as my new go to sweet treat. There’s so many things to choose from and the staff there are super friendly and sweet. The margarita pizza bread is truly a game changer. Not to mention the delicious apple bear claw or the cinnamon swirl bread. So many choices and all so fresh

The bread there is so delicious! I go there when I want a treat - to me it's better than cake! Everything is always very fresh. I miss their free samples but get that it's hard to do that ever since covid started. Their prices are reasonable given the freshness and tastiness.

Delicious! The Great Harvest Bread is so good, especially the cheese breads. Just time your visit for the day they make your favorite.

This is a great place. There is such a great variety of breads, cookies, scones, and even treats for your pet.The staff is the best. Hunter is such a nice, kind, patient person. We even struck a conversation all while he tended to other customers. Something worth mentioning is that a customer came in with a question about vegan bread. Hunter was able to accommodate to their needs.I would definitely go back time and again. The staff is really kind and well knowledgeable, and very important, such a great variety of delicious bread!! !

Fantastic staff! They make the bread fresh I. the store and even mill their wheat flour there. It was such a great delight to find this place. Their bread and cookies that I got are so soft and delicious. Would definitely suggest this to anyone who is picking on their bread being fresh and soft or really anyone looking for a treat.

This bakery is so wonderful! The people are great and they are usually busy, so any ambivolence on their part is probably exhaustion. The baked goods that I have purchased are always fresh and amazingly delicious. I get the trail bars a lot when I'm in town and they are the bees knees - so good and very satisfying. My whole family loves this place and if anything I buy doesn't get eaten quickly, I double wrap and put it in the freezer; it's still awesome when we take it out.

Never do i complain about their very intricate but simple flavor combinations baked in their Loafs of bread , or their cookies and scones. This place is a great buy. You'd almost wish their seasonal items were available year round , but then that takes the fun away.

Scrumptious fresh bread! The Great Harvest locations in MD and VA have their own special menu and unique selection of loaves. Glad I made the trek from McLean to Rockville to try Rockville's specialty loaves - Chocolate Babka, Cinnamon Blast, and Pumpkin Yumkin. Totally worth it!

Cinnamon Blast (5/5) - Brioche bread with a brown sugar cinnamon swirl. While the bread was a bit dense, with a touch of melted butter, it was heavenly. The loaf is quite large and almost a foot. It didn't last too long in our house before my hubby and I devoured it!

Pumpkin Yumpkin (4/5) - While the loaf is oozing with chocolate chips in every bite, it overpowers the subtle pumpkin flavor. I LOVE chocolate chips, but the dense loaf didn't pair well with pumpkin and didn't have the sweet savory flavor I was hoping for. Banana pairs the best with chocolate chips. A simple Pumpkin spice loaf would be nice (which I believe the bakery offers). Alas, I finished the loaf and delightfully crossed it off my foodie bucket list, fun to try!

Chocolate Babka (3/5) - Hubby's favorite! Similar to the Cinnamon Blast, dense brioche bread with swirls of rich chocolate layers. The ratio between bread and chocolate was a bit low, wish there was more chocolate!

The bread keeps well for around 5 days with twist tie diligence! I enjoyed our bread feast with decadent loaves.

The Rockville bakery is quite crowded with heavy foot traffic, everyone was Covid compliant - wearing a mask and stood 6 feet apart. The cozy Vienna location has a lot less foot traffic with divine Focaccia that's super fluffy, try it! Definitely worth a trip from Rockville.

Love trying different loaves of bread in MD and VA, looking forward to some new variety!

First time here. Picked up a scone for my kiddo and left. Then returned..my take home scones were cinnamon chip and blueberry white chocolate chip and they were to die for! Service was great and i was able to try a few fresh made breads. I will definitely return :)

I've gone in twice this week! The spinach provolone and the challah are on point, and my kids love getting to pick a bread to try. The packaging make for great gift giving too!

I agree with Caitlin. It was the spinach provolone that was a gift that got me started with this store. I've had so many things from there if I was going to recommend something I would suggest the chocolate bobka. I also like the garlic cheddar. So many choices and so little time.

Always buy their bread and everything they make is fantastic, this is the only place I purchase bakery items

A hidden gem, used to come here (well the one in Herndon) since I was in middle school it's a childhood favorite and so amazing! Even now as an adult ! So glad they are out here! Super fresh stone ground wheat, no one else grinds their own wheat!

I don’t really get to bake anything anymore except cookies sometimes with the kids. All the bread my family needs is from this place. You can always be sure that their breads are fresh and baked with this highest quality in mind.

Each time I get into Great Harvest, I forget amount counting calories! All the bread I have sampled taste so good. My fav is pumpkin yumkin!

Amazing Everytime! Scones are to die for! Super Friendly staff too! I wish I lived closer, but when I'm ever in DC, I won't miss going here for a delicious scone!
