Glenda's Creole Kitchen Restaurant

Always on the lookout for good local cooking, I stumbled upon Glenda's Creole kitchen. Never decisive, I was able to get both the smothered ribs and the red beans and sausage with two sides, corn and white beans. The woman who served me was patient and helpful as she described what some of the options were.

For $12, I got a large plate of food that will give me at least one other meal. The rib was delicious with a good amount of meat on the bone and the beans and sausage were equally flavorful.

If you're looking for fancy atmosphere or someplace romantic, this is not the place to go. If you're more interested in good food than decor, the rustic, homey and somewhat chaotic atmosphere is perfect.

Thankfully, their visit by Anthony Bourdain has not seemed to change their way of doing business.

It literally felt like it did when I was a kid in my maw maws kitchen. French being spoken, and laughs. The food was very good, but the atmosphere made it feel like home. I recommend it

Had the smothered ribs, black eyes and corn. She had the stuffed turkey. It was amazing. Portions were huge and left overs were even good, and I'm not a leftovers guy. Service was very nice to us. Reminds me of family restaurants in Mexico, the kind service and atmosphere. Bourdain wasn't messn round with this one.

Excellent meal and service. Had the Catfish Coubillion. Seasoning was spot on. Catfish fresh. Potato salad and beans good. Had cake for dessert that tasted like my grandmas. Will come back.

I lived in South Louisiana for 45 years and have extensively traveled around the world and have tried Cajun food whenever I saw it. Glenda's have some of the best authentic Cajun that I have ever had. Friendly service, great food, authentic Cajun cuisine

It is a out of the way to get to but it is so worth the drive. I ordered the smothered Pork Steak rice, green beans, and Cajun Potato salad. Love it all but can't believe I'm saying this but the Cajun Potato Salad was the stand out. With a perfect punch of both spicy and sweat from any Potato salad. A step up to what I was brought up with. And need to add their Strawberry Lemonade is so good please don't order sodas here, get their tea, Lemonade, Strawberry Lemonade when eating Glenda's Creole Cajun Cooking.

The staff are so friendly and takes the time to explain each daily entrée. This is a real cooking and talk about homely, Glenda's doesn't get more homely than here.

Food 9/10 Service 10/10

The rice dressing was on point. The turkey roll was seasoned well and the ribs have a great smokey flavor ( has a sauce but it's not overwhelming). We hit the time just right on a Sunday because the line was short. If you're looking for a plate lunch in the Breaux bridge area, treat yourself to this place. PS the bread pudding was delicious and has its own personal pie style tin so you don't have to share - if you don't want to.

A great experience, and a must stop.

Always good food. Their brisket went down hill from pre-covid days but thats understandable. I dont know what goes on behind scenes but they went from tasting, looking and feeling like real brisket you can pull apart to something thats really fatty and feels more like a chunk of meat. Besides that, their BBQ chicken and Sausage plate lunches are amazing. High quality food. The girls at the window are always nice.

The chef at the cooking demo at the Lafayette Music festival said Glendas kitchen was a must stop before leaving town. We agree. Food was yummy and cake was especially good too.

Food is always amazing!!! She always serves you with a smile then her awesome food I love miss Glenda!!she works so hard to please her customer's!

Stopped by because of an episode of Anthony B’s No Reservations. Have had it added to our bucket list for a while. We loved it! Glenda is a sweetheart! Will definitely be back for a repeat visit if we are ever here again!!!!

Best tasting food around South Louisiana, everything seasoned perfect, quick service, great cake!
