My Vet Calls

Dr Perl is a wonderful vet, and he was extremely prompt and you could tell he had so much experience with animals. My pup wasn't eating but when Dr Perl pulled out a treat--she took it! I would recommend him multiple times over and I am very happy with his services. He answered all my questions and it was a great experience!

When I needed a vet to come and care for my geriatric cat, I went through a list of 7 potential companies and vets and called them all to request appointments. Of this list; 2 answered to say they did not do house calls; I left messages (emails and voicemails) for 4; and only 1, Dr. Perl, returned my call and came out. I am so glad he did. He is professional and friendly, and makes you and your pet feel safe and warm. He was able to quickly analyze the situation and explain it in clear terms. Unfortunately my cat is not going to live much longer, but he gave good advice that ensured I was not going to put my cat through any further discomfort or trauma or unnecessary treatments. I know from past experience that taking my cat to certain emergency hospitals would result in the opposite. Dr. Perl is so good that I would happily pay more for his type of service. The only reason I was hesitant to write a review is because he is already in high demand - but this means he needs an assistant! If you know a good vet who would like to join a wonderful doctor, send them to Dr. Perl!

Dr. Perl was gentle; he carefully eased my beloved Cody, and a few years later, RocketBoy, my cat companion of over 20 years, into the next realm. He has come to the house and tested my pets for Lyme and given them their protective vaccines. I buy the flea and tick preventative through My Vet Calls, and it arrives promptly. I recommend Dr. Perl.

Dr. Perl is very efficient, very kind, no nonsense with a wry sense of humor. We really appreciate how he helped our sheltie move on previously. Now he is unfazed in the face of our rambunctious puppies.

Dr. Perl is a lifesaving professional: a highly skilled, super-intelligent, and compassionate veterinarian. Over the course of about 20 years, he has taken care of seven of our cats and solved a host of problems. He clearly knows what he's doing; his business practices are honest and transparent; and his fees are more than reasonable. The advantage of having an experienced, pragmatic veterinarian like Dr. Perl make home visits is invaluable. I have recommended him to all the people I love.

He was incredibly responsive, calm, and empathetic with our giant English Mastiff. He came to our house (crucial service with a giant breed dog that wasn't very mobile) and was able to identify what is likely a resolvable situation after I was so worried that today was the "end." Couldn't have gotten better news! Dr. Perl came recommended by another Mastiff owner, and I'd like to add my own endorsement.

Dr. Perl got on the floor with Bailey (15) and gave him a quick exam, making helpful recommendations to treat his arthritis pain. He also came within the hour to give our elderly RottweilerX a peaceful death in 2013.

Dr. Perl was a life saver. We knew it was the final days for our dog. When she wouldn’t even come downstairs we knew it was time and we didn’t want her to suffer. We called everywhere (at least 10 places) to see about getting a vet to euthanize her in our home, and we didn’t want to move her since we knew it would be painful and she was 50 pounds so it wouldn’t be easy. Every place we called wouldn’t be able to come out until the next day because of a holiday. Dr. Perl came out in a 1/2 hour after calling him. He explained the process, gave us our options and he made a very painful process peaceful for us and our dog. He also travelled outside of his normal area when he heard about our dog’s situation. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Perl. I am so thankful he was kind enough to go out of his way to accommodate us.

Dr Perl is simply the best, I tell everyone about his services. He has taken care of two dogs for us and will take care of the next as well. He most recently helped us send our dog to doggy heaven in the comfort of our home after taking care of him for many years, I could see the compassion and sadness in him as he was doing it, wasn't just another dog. Highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Perl has twice visited our two older cats (14 and 20), the younger of whom is prone to ear infections. He is great with the cats, both of whom can be very cranky around strangers, and his advice concerning the care of our senior lady has been wonderful. The rates are extremely reasonable to spare our cats a trip in the car, which they hate, and he is very prompt about returning phone calls. I wholeheartedly recommend him!

I have known Dr. Perl for many, many years. He is compassionate, knowledgeable, a good diagnostician.
Last year, he came to put first my cat to sleep, and a few months later one of my dogs. They could not have left in better hands than his.
He is now back to be my regular vet, and I feel absolutely lucky that my pets are now in his care.

Our fur baby, Bugsy, was obviously in the final stages of life. He was a sickly cat in general but those last two days he had constant vomiting and wouldn't eat or drink anymore, so we knew the end was near. Dr. Malachi responded immediatly by text to our questions and concerns, no long on-hold wait on the phone. She was able to euthanize Bugsy in our living room in a very calm and respectful way within 24 hours of texting her. She followed CDC protocol and filled out all the paperwork with my husband outdoors and wore a mask when in our home for a brief amount of time. I loved how quiet she was, whispering when she spoke, so as not to add noisy stress to the situation. When it was all over she quietly snuck out and drove away so we could have that time to sit with Bugsy and mourn. No fake "sorry for your loss" or any awkward small talk, just an empathetic "ok", and she saw her own way out the front door. Bugsy went out very peacefully with the sun shining on him through the window and soft music playing. I can't say enough good things about a sad situation, so I'll just say thank you, Dr. Malachi. You're awesome.
