BJ's Carolina Cafe, Catering & Cakes

I got the prime rib on a Saturday night. An absolutely beautiful hunk of meat, packed with possibly the most flavor I have had in a steak. And that’s before you put the au jus on it! Prime rib is one of those things that is really easy to do alright but seemingly much harder to do perfectly, but this place nailed it. The sides weren’t just an afterthought either, fries were great of course. A lot of mid-budget restaurants in the South have an applesauce side that is watery garbage as if it was an afterthought, but theirs was surprisingly really good, A tier. Service staff was nice and prompt as well. Not usually my style of place to visit but they knocked it out of the park and I will be back.

Seen this place while traveling south from Va. Stopped in on the way back for breakfast and glad I did. Very filling meal that came out hot and fresh. Has home cooking feel and is as real of a place as it gets. Also had the orange juice which was fresh squeezed. Do your self a favor and dont pass this little place by. It is a gem.

Nortk Carolina is very famous for BBQ. And "Carolina Sauce" is also existing.
This restaurant serves BBQ, seafood, the other local food, and great cakes!!!
BBQ mas very good and two kinds of BBQ sauces are also delicious with spicy and sour taste.
The other cuisine, fried flounder and Sandwiches looked very nice!
Fresh squeezed homemade lemonade was so good.
And they have many choices of cake, it is difficult to choose! Every cake looks so good.
I chose strawberry cream cake (of course, it is homemade!), it was so sweet and so good.

Waitress lady was very kind and friendly, she had knowledge of menu. Her recommendation was so helpful.

Where do I start. The food was excellent, my wife had the chicken salad BLT, and I had the fried flounder. Our server Justin was great, super friendly and attentive., we never had to wait for a refill or anything. The prices are good. Oh and the cheesecake was good as well. I only wish I would've found this place sooner. Will definitely be back.

Literally the best little cafe to stop and eat at after a long day of traveling. The BEST crab dip I’ve ever eaten. There’s a reason that the burgers come with a steak knife but they are grilled to perfection. Finally, all of the desserts are homemade and absolutely delicious! I highly recommend!

Came here during “off season” and dined in for Lunch. Boyfriend had the Chicken Salad Sandwich, and I ordered the Chicken Salad Cold Plate. Both were very good. Very shocked at the portion size for the price we payed - we were satisfied and full. Desert was good too! We’ve become locals as of recent and looking forward to coming back for dinner in the future. Awesome place I’d you’re in the area or leaving/coming into the OBX.

The Fried Flounder plate and Chicken Tenders were fresh, hot, and delicious. EXCELLENT CORN BREAD!!

It was a wonderful country cafe. I visited on Tuesday and their special was fried chicken, which tasted amazing! My server Justin made me feel very welcomed and took time to talk with me as I was dining alone. Their baked beans and desserts are wonderful as well. Next time you're in the neighborhood, stop by and say hi and treat yourself to some wonderful Southern cooked food.

Just came down for wing night with some great music from Blaney Phillips! As always the food is on point! And the service was even better!

If the tray they bring you doesn't look full enough they add extra at no cost. We could decide on the freshly made peach cobbler or the yummy looking banana pudding so we got both. Definitely a must if you are visiting the Outter Banks. Hopefully they seat you by the desserts like they did me. More time to figure what you want for dessert.

This was actually called The Lost Colony Inn and Distillery. My husband had a glass of their red beer and a plate of beer-battered fish and Chips. I had Crab and Spinach Quisch with a great salad. Both were delicious! We shared a piece of Pumpkin Cheese Cake. Heavenly. This place is located on Roanoke Island just up from their lighthouse. Worth the trip!

Never been here before. Will gladly come back when ever I am on the mainland. Simple decor, not too much goin on, but that doesn't matter because the food is spectacular! Had the bang bang meatloaf grilled cheese it was soooooooo good!!!! If you are hungry and in the area or passing by stop in and get some food! I will be back for sure.

Hands down some of the best Southern breakfast and lunch you could ask for prior to hitting the Outer Banks Islands. Perfect place to stop. Highly reccomend the loaded fries. Best I've ever had!

Found this little gem off the Rd. In Jarvisburg. Amazing amount of food and it was quite a bargain! Delicious! Ribs were great! Chicken wings amazing as advertised and Billy Burger with a crab cake on top was soooo good!

Absolutely delicious! Fresh fried shrimp, fries, cole slaw & cornbread $12. Hub's had catch of the day (flounder), also came with the above sides $12. Will definitely be back.

Great stop for breakfast on the way home from OBX. Delicious bacon/sausage egg & sandwiches and grits. We had a slice of pecan pie with our coffee and it was some of the best we've had. Quick and easy stop for takeout and affordable!

Love the food loved the hospitality I just held my daughters bridal shower in the back room and it was all that and then some great place if you haven't been and met the wonderful family that owns and operates BJ'S then you're missing out on a currituck treasure I thank Mrs Wanda Beasley for all she did to make this event truly special we loved it and will definitely be back awesome place !!!!! I give it 10 stars

BJ's Carolina Cafe is a must anytime I'm headed home from the beach. The restaurant is super clean and the staff is VERY friendly! The food? AMAZING! I recommend BJ's Carolina Cafe to anyone passing through to, or from, the OBX!

What a gem of a cafe! We flew by this place at 60mph on our way out of town and did a u-turn, and boy are we glad we did. This is the most delightful owner run restaurants that we have visited! Wanda is such a treasure to talk to. She makes you feel like you walked into her home, sat down at the kitchen table and you have been friends for a life time. The food was excellent- quick, hot, delicious, and the portions are belly stuffing! I wish we lived closer so we could visit all the time.
