Beautiful lake with many things you can do. Took the Jeep out and had a blast! Lovely spots for pictures, fishing, kayaking, and the forest and roads were very clean and free from trash!

I can't say enough good things about our recent stay at Badin Lake Campground. Situated in the heart of the Uwharrie National Forest, this site offers a peaceful respite that's a world away from the everyday hustle.

The campground itself is beautifully laid out, with sites that are both spacious and secluded. Each spot offers easy access to Badin Lake, a glittering expanse of water that’s perfect for boating, fishing, or simply basking in the sun. We enjoyed the well-maintained hiking trails that weave through the forest, offering both challenge and reward with stunning scenic overlooks.

A standout feature for us was the excellent fishing opportunities; we caught a variety of fish including bass and catfish. The experience of sitting by the lake with a fishing pole as the sun set was nothing short of serene.

But what really sets Badin Lake Campground apart is its commitment to conservation. From clearly marked recycling stations to informative nature programs, it's evident that the management takes its stewardship of the land seriously.

Leaving Badin Lake was bittersweet; the tranquility and natural beauty left a lasting impression. Whether you're a camping veteran or a first-timer, Badin Lake Campground offers an unparalleled outdoor experience that calls you back time and time again.

The group camping area is great, lots of tent pads and space to spread out. The bathrooms are close by, and the drinking water is centrally located.

I definitely prefer the group sites at badin lake you still get your shower and bathroom but you also get your privacy. The sites are great very shady and the tent pads are large and it's all flat ground.

BRING WOOD!
You aren't allowed to cut down trees, and you won't find any firewood on the ground.
There aren't many twigs for kindling, either. We had to burn all of our paper towels to get the kindling going so that we could burn the few sticks and logs we found; leaves were all wet.
Bring sandals for the shower. It gets super dirty in there.
Make friends with your neighbors so they give you their wood when they leave.

Like to camp out in the mountains with all your friends that like to camp out too in the same area? Then this is the place for you! Clean bathrooms and showers and trash containers. Good high ground and shaded spots. Nature supplies the rest.

Really nice group camping area. Plenty of space, platforms for tents, plenty of trees for Hammocks. One of the nicest group camping areas. We really liked it. Only downside is you must drive to fish, etc.

Cheap, quaint, well maintained. Everything I was expecting and more. They have working showers and toilets. Great place for a group getaway. They keep it cheap for customers by not having electricity hookups, but there is potable water at the sites

Amazing campground right on the water, there are single plots that you can go to too, just as good. The campground host was super friendly and helped us find a good spot!

Great group camping, facilities are on the older side and could use a refresh, but that is expected at the price point.
