This local used bookstore is simply charming. The cozy atmosphere and abundant books make it a pleasant spot to browse. It has a welcoming atmosphere that radiates a relaxed vibe, perfect for anyone who enjoys a quiet yet fun book-hunting experience.

This hidden bookstore is definitely a spot you should check out! It doesn’t seem like much for the outside but inside they have tons of books of different genres. I have found a few books here that I enjoyed and think it’s worth a look.

The Book Lady is, in my opinion, the best used bookstore in Monroe, NC, and likely in the Charlotte area. There is a very large selection of children’s books, fiction, and history. If you are interested in books around religion, you should also be happy. Prices are better than 2nd & Charles, and in my experience, better than the other used bookstores in the area.

Being able to return books and get a 50% store credit then buy books for half of a really low discounted price is WONDERFUL. It is the best deal in town for someone who wants the best bargain for books. I am an a retiree who has been buying books from the Book Lady for over fifteen years. Covid almost caused this store to close. That would have been a great loss to our community.

Nice and cozy with a great selection. I didn't come in looking for anything in particular, but walked out with a hillbilly cookbook with no ISBN number. Also the dogs are really cute and friendly, and keep you entertained while you're waiting for your friends!

Great and cute used book store with a good selection of titles for kids who are independent readers. Friendly staff. Will come back!

SO. MANY. BOOKS! This store is beautiful, and very well stocked. I was looking for a few books to complete a series in my collection, and The Book Lady had several copies of the ones I was looking for, as well as some I already had. So thankful to The Book Lady for helping me complete my collection.

Promo in answering phone, answered all my questions. Received the books I’d wanted to turn in for trade, and gave me same info as person I spoke to in phone, providdd me a brief but helpful tour of how they are organized and also have signs hanging, although dealing with used books, place was tidy, well organized and also included dvd, vhs, games and puzzles along with several spots to sit with a book or two.

Love going here. It's got a great selection of choices, and whatever you're looking for, they can help you find. Great prices, and their book exchange is definitely recommended.

My friend and I went here this morning and wow! What a hidden gem! The staff was super helpful and friendly! The sheer selection, organization and cleanliness had my jaw on the floor. The little sitting area is adorable and I found some great finds in the “hot hot hot” section for myself and in the young readers section for my son. The prices and book quality were great! We will be back soon!

This is the spot! You donate books, and get half back as a credit for purchases. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The store is in no shortage of options, and the books are well-organized. I can’t wait to go back! 📚 ❤

This is my favorite bookstore !!!! The book selection is incredible. This store also houses a vast collection of audio books as well as a good selection of movies. The staff is helpful and friendly; the atmosphere is lovely and peaceful. BEST of ALL the prices are exceedingly low and affordable.

Great atmosphere. Large selection of books for a great price. Workers are always friendly helpful. Extremely clean inside and outside. I recommend anyone to visit. I visit the area 2-5 times every month, a little over two hours.

I enjoy this store for the variety as well as the prices. This is not a commercial box store, but one that has character. Books are separate by subject but the fun is in the looking to find that one gem you didn't know about or one that is out of print.

You may not be able to find the exact book you are always looking for but it's fun looking for treasures.

Was an excellent experience. My wife was looking for Robyn Carr books. The Virgin River series. Found 4 of the ones she needed.
Best part was we hadn't been in there since before the pandemic. Had completely forgotten about our store credit. So with the credit and the other 6 books I got. We paid less than $4 for everything.

Lots of books, great AC, and friendly, helpful staff. Remember to bring books to trade. Clean, roomy bathroom if you need it. Call or check Facebook for store hours, because holidays can affect them.
