I highly recommend the Pet Emergency Clinic of Pitt County. From the initial phone call to the ED evaluation and treatment, the department provided compassionate and professional service to my Lucy, a border collie mix. The phone attendant patiently listened to my dog’s history and medical concern; and advised for me to bring Lucy to the Emergency Department. Lucy was promptly evaluated and treated by the veterinarian, who explained Lucy’s medical problems and treatments. They answered all questions to our satisfaction. I was reassured that only muscle, and no tendon or bone, was exposed by the open wound on Lucy’s hind foot. This wound was cleaned, surgically repaired, and securely dressed that evening. Careful instructions and an IV bag turned to a “shoe” were provided to us. Lucy is currently improving quickly with the pain medication and antibiotic prescribed and provided prior to ED discharge. I am very happy that my furry baby is on the mend.

Thank you so much for your care, Pet Emergency Clinic of Pitt County!

Sincerely,
From Lucy and her mom

My Sheltie, Jet, was transferred from my regular vet to the Pet Emergency Clinic for an overnight stay for a possible obstruction. The vet did a great job of laying out her plan and then called during the night with an update. She explained everything that was going on and patiently answered my questions so I could make the best decision for my dog. Jet received great care from the entire staff and was transferred back to our normal vet in the morning. Jet avoided surgery and is doing so much better today. I am so thankful that this clinic is in place and able to provide quality after hours care for our pets.

They were extremely nice . Wait time was 4 hours but i totally understand with all the emergencies that came in that night . The staff were so likable and made the experience so much better . And them having a coffee machine was a plus ! I can truly say they cared for every animal that goes through that door . Glad to say that my pup is well and doing so much better after last night’s visit . Nothing serious

My 16.5 year old min pin, Jackson, was in severe distress when we brought him in at 3:30am yesterday morning. He had been suffering from congestive heart failure for quite some time that was controlled by medication. Yesterday, he suddenly went downhill and was struggling to breathe. The doctor at the hospital did all of the necessary life saving measures and tests, but after several hours he was still struggling in spite of her efforts. This episode was the third time in the last year this happened, but the other episodes were quickly resolved and we were able to take him home and he was fine. I would also add that he was deaf and almost completely blind. After several hours of him still struggling to breathe, my wife and I made the agonizing decision to have him euthanized. We couldn’t bear to see him suffering and we knew that more episodes were in the future. Although this seemed like the right thing to do, I am still struggling with our decision. The final event was calm as we held him and the doctor and support staff were so kind and comforting. I can’t say enough about how they handled this situation for us and we are so thankful.

We showed up with our little girl at 10:30 at night and they were on top of things…the vet was very clear about her diagnosis and her care plan. We are broken hearted to find out she has CHF and may have less than 1 year with her, very confident that with the vets care and care plan she may prove that wrong!! Thank you for all you do and you’re very much appreciated.

I have nothing but great things to say about the services that I had received yesterday at the Pet Emergency Clinic. The front desk staff was so considerate and helpful and it was my first time visiting. “Lisa” was super understanding because I was emotional about my puppy. She made sure to attend to my requests and made things comfortable. I highly recommend them. Thanks for your kind support.

Dr.Davis and her staff are fantastic! They took great care of our 15 year old kitty, before sending him to his regular doctor to continue to treat his urinary blockage. They explained everything they were going to do with him at every step. Then they explained every thing on the bill. I would highly recommend this clinic! Thank you so much for saving our Ciciboy!

We came in for a snake bite of my puppy, who had to stay overnight. The doctor and staff were courteous, kind, and communicated clearly. They coordinated smoothly with the other practice where we got care initially. I'm so thankful for the with they do.

Amazing. Showed up at 3 am with my sick pup, not only were they very compassionate, answered any question I had, and never left me wondering. But they never once made me feel any type of way other than truly cared for and taken care of. They loved my pup just like their own. Thank you so much for helping me! Odin sure loved you guys also. 🖤

Had to take my dog in on a Saturday due to an infection from a surgery earlier in the week at the regular vet. It was very busy, but the entire staff were caring and extremely supportive. Unfortunately it was worse the next day and back we went for more treatment. They did not charge an extra visit fee and I was shocked. Again, patient, supportive, caring, and gentle. Hoping he makes a full recovery now!
If this was a regular vet clinic I would move my animals here!!

Amazingly professional caring staff, we had an issue with our cats eye. we got home one day from work and it was swollen beyond belief. We immediately ran to the only animal hospital open in the area open after a normal work day and they made sure to get straight to work figuring out what was wrong with our baby girl. Now she wasn’t exactly a fan of being at the vet, but they handled it amazingly, they came back and gave us a few options, and after about 4-5 days on some medicine Thor is feeling just like her normal self. Normally I wouldn’t leave a review, but this team of people helped to make sure that she was taken care of, listened to us and addressed all concerns, went above and beyond, and knew exactly how to get her feeling better. Thank you, and if we ever need anything we will only be returning here!

I came here yesterday for my new kitten's swollen eye and ear mites. It wasn't an "emergency", but the vet couldn't get him in for an appointment for over a week. Since he wasn't an emergency, we did have to wait about 3.5 hours since there were multiple critical patients that had to go ahead of him. When pets came in in critical condition, staff immediately rushed them back and didn't make them wait in the waiting area at all. This was so good to see because I could see that they really cared about the animals and their families.

While we were waiting, a vet tech came and brought my boy a toy to play with to keep him occupied. This act of kindness almost brought me to tears because it showed me that he was in good hands and that he would truly be cared for here. Once we got back, the vet tech and vet were so sweet to my boy and gave him a thorough exam. They took their time to explain his conditions and taught me how to administer his meds. When leaving, the receptionist said to me "thank you so much for taking care of this sweet kitten", which was just so sweet and empathetic!

Overall, I could not recommend this office enough. I've been to offices where staff didn't seem to care about the animals a ton, but everyone here was so thoughtful and really cared about us. I felt like my boy was in very good hands.

You guys were the best in a bad situation. We've never been before and you treated us like family. You helped us to send Lucky over the Rainbow Bridge peacefully and with no pain. I can't thank y'all enough for being there for us. She was our baby even though she was probably 16 or 17 Yeats old. (Lucky was a rescue and we tried to make her life happy and filled with love.) Thank you again. You are all awesome!

The doctor was thorough and patient in explaining my dog's condition. I made the difficult decision to euthanize, and the staff was incredibly compassionate. They were patient to give me time for closure before and after the procedure, and I never felt rushed or like my grief was an inconvenience. Despite the tragedy, I left with a lot of peace knowing my dog I were offered dignity and comfort in his last moments.

I brought my cat to be seen here because of issues with his hydration. The front desk staff were informative and helpful. We did wait a while to be seen (approx 1.5hr) and I was the first person there at 6pm, but I was told that was due to emergencies coming in which I understood. The care my cat received was outstanding. I really appreciate the veterinarian for being so thorough and really explaining every detail about the testing and medications given. If needed, I will bring my fur babies here again in the future.

Terrifying to have to use this facility but so grateful they were available! Sarah the tech was an absolute doll to my baby! We left feeling relieved knowing we could sleep easy that night knowing our baby was taken care of so professionally. Very loving workers!

I brought my handsome Siamese cat, Topaz, in on Christmas evening, following a neurological event. They immediately took him back and started assessing him. They took amazing care of my sweet cat. I can’t express how thankful I am that they were available and took such amazingly compassionate care of my fur baby.

My dog, Doug went into this clinic, where he has never gone, lethargic and close to death. Everyone, from the receptionist to the veterinarian were super nice and helpful. They genuinely cared about my dogs heath and well being. He had to stay overnight, they kept me informed as they said they would. All costs were gone over beforehand. The next day when I went to pick him up, he was doing so much better. The staff, even the following day were absolutely amazing. I hope we never end up at the emergency clinic again but I know if we ever do, I have no doubt this is where I would be taking him. I wish I could give them 10 stars! The staff deserves a huge thank you for just being your genuine selves and I appreciate you saving my dog more than you will ever know.

Transferred my pup Lilly from my normal vet to this clinic for overnight iv fluids and detox. They were so kind, and patient with all of my sleep deprived questions. Letting me stay in the room with her and keeping me informed of everything that they found as the night went on. Just be patient! I know its scary to have to bring your furbaby there, but they are in good hands. 100% recommend this clinic and it's staff.

They were busy and I had to wait, because there were a lot of animals who needed help and it was a Sunday. They saved my cat’s life. She wasn’t eating or drinking water for 4+ days. They kept her overnight and gave her IV Fluids she desperately needed. She had lost half her body weight. They worked with East Carolina Vet to transfer her the day after for continued care because she was still not eating. After 6 days, she finally got better and is eating and drinking. She would not have made it without medical intervention and this team that was willing to work Sunday overnight to care for my furr baby. God bless this place.
