Alchemist Wine and Sprits @ Six Mile (retail package store)

This store, be it small, it is fantastic. Amanda the store manager is incredible. She is so knowledgeable, warm, caring, and welcoming. She recommended me onto a new vodka and now I come back for this! She is who keeps the customers coming back and makes sure everything is in stock! Every now and then she has cute decorated signs for the holidays which is a really nice extra touch. They have a lot of tastings as well which is fun to try new products! Amanda is personable and totally makes the liquor store purchasing process an enjoyable one. Great prices and an incredible central location.

Amazing!!! I called to see if there was anyway they could assemble a last minute charcuterie board to go and was literally blown away by the service, knowledge, and attention to detail!! I had no idea what I really wanted on the board, and Kirk talked me through several options for meats and cheeses and explained each one so beautifully!! You know how sometimes sommeliers and cheese mongers just come off as pretentious know it all snobs, and you leave feeling like you should have just microwaved yourself some frozen dino nuggets and had a capri sun? Not the case at Alchemist! I left with a little more knowledge of cheese, the most beautiful charcuterie platter, and a bottle of delicious Pinot noir! The shop was so cheery and bustling with happy customers, and I can’t wait to go back to eat at the bar!! 10/10 recommend!

It's a very welcoming place with an amazing selection of wines -- for special occasions or every day. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Derek is especially capable, with incredible descriptive powers. Choosing a wine there is a great experience -- fun, interesting, and never intimidating. They're website is an excellent resource, too.

Awesome store. They have a huge selection with every bourbon, tequila, vodka etc that you could think of. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and always jumping out of their seat to see how they can assist me. 10/10, one of the best stores in the Charleston area.

Great selection! Most knowledgeable staff that I've encountered in years. They spend time explaining the differences and similarities between a variety of expansive offerings. From the most popular brands to the hard to find, Six Mile has it all, or will get it for you. I'm a novice when it comes to wine appreciation, and experience, but found that Six Mile Team Members were very patient in educating me in order to make the best decisions possible in planning and purchasing for our special occasion. And, the price was right!

I love coming here for my whiskey and bourbon "hobby." The staff is always so knowledgeable and helpful. Derek is the staff member I have interacted with the most. He knows his stuff and he articulates his own passion for the product. I highly recommend Six Mile Wine and Spirits.

Fantastic selection! Friendly, knowledgeable, and energetic staff. I hate going into a store where the person behind the counter does not know the products and shys away from questions. These guy are their to point you in the right direction, let you explore something new (even if it’s cheaper), and help you make a selection from wine to vodka to bourbon, heck they even give you cocktail recipes to try out! If your going somewhere else your missing out.

This place has the best selection ever, and the customer service is second to none. Derek can tell you about any wine in the store. They are willing to order any products you may need. Awesome prices combined with the knowledge and selection.... best place to shop. I drive past several stores just to shop here. You won't be disappointed.

Great selection of wines! The selection of wine is constantly evolving as vintages change.

I personally love the custom tasting notes prepared by the store, bc it shows that they know at least a little bit about every wine on the shelf, i also like that they are transparent with wine ratings from major tasting journals even if the rating isn't 90+.

Six mile may not have the biggest wine selection (its pretty big though), but i think it is the best, because its hard not to get a good bottle at any price point from $6 to $100, the wine selection is well curated.

Staff is very helpful, and not just with wine, they can talk intelligently about bourbon, scotch, rum, gin, etc. Believe me i have tested them and worry they spend too much time thinking about wine and liquor ha!

Recently had the pleasure of Bourbon shopping here. They have an excellent selection. The staff was very knowledgeable, and were able to describe the nuances of different premium Bourbons that I had not tried, leading me to a phenomenal bottle of Noah's Mill.

By far the most knowledgable staff I've encountered. I love that they always offer suggestions on new things to try. Derek (and everyone, really!) has been more than helpful. Great selection, to boot! Appreciate that they keep a list and are willing to contact you when a rare find makes its way to the store.

We're visiting from out of town. We visited looking for the pickle vodka we'd tried the last time we visited Charleston. The gentleman working was extremely helpful and super knowledgeable, showing us all the local spirits they carried and making great suggestions and even drink ideas. We came in for a single bottle of spirits and left with 6 different bottles of local juice based on his suggestions. Awesome service and tons of help.

The guys that run the store are not only friendly and have vast knowledge of their product but the're HONEST which is hard to come by these days. They taste all their wines before they sell them to the public to ensure high quality liquor for the best price.

I got the chance to drop in briefly last time I was in town and I’m very glad I did. Shop has a vast selection with the knowledge to match. I was highly impressed by the staff; they were among the best I’ve encountered. I’ll be back for sure.
