Best kept secret in the southeast. Great education. Great programs. Support systems for all students. It's the only university in NC with a Medical School, Dental School, and Engineering School. The city of Greenville is all about ECU and it's a great college town. I went there and both my kids are current students there. Check out the Honors College and the scholarship opportunities, too!

I wish I could give this school TEN stars. Not only is it a beautiful campus, all of the programs are accredited and the student population is great. There is a lot of spirit and the downtown (uptown) area is very student friendly, always something to do on or off campus. I like the positive attitude that would not be found in the NorthEast.

The best memories I've made in my life are at this school! Met amazing friends from all over the country and had some pretty awesome professors 😊! Deciding to go to ECU was by far the best decision I've ever made!

ECU is excellent. It was some of the best years of my life. It's viewed as a reputable and accredited university in the eyes employers for any job interview I've had since college. The professors care about the educational quality they provide. They were very well prepared for their lectures and made sure every student got something out of their class. I've got my 6 year old already talking about going there.

ECU is a leader. When I was there, ECU made various initiatives to better the eastern NC region. ECU took off with online classes more than any university in the state to cater people whose life commitments made it difficult to be full time on-campus students. The Brody School of Medicine, in conjunction with the hospital would treat uninsured patients throughout the area without a guarantee they'd be paid for it anytime soon or at all on some cases. ECU broke ground with a dental school to address the shortage of dentists in the region. The Princeton Review's yearly annual report on who they decide to rank as the best and worst colleges does not consider selfless efforts and initiatives like these that truly make the world a better place.

ECU is diverse. I went through a major change, which put me on track for a 4.5 year graduation. Then I ended up working a lot in a demanding job my last year so I took class part time that year stretching it into 5 years. Throughout this time, I got involved in various groups and organizations. There's something there for everybody. Sure there's the partying crowd that everybody talks about for those who choose to take that path. Every university I've had friends at and visited I observed that. There are also just as many bookworms who would cringe over a B on their college transcript. School spirit thrives at ECU and that is where all groups of people are out on the tailgating field together sporting purple and gold together.

I highly recommend this institution to anyone who is looking for a solid education and enjoyable college experience. Memories there will last a lifetime. My first year of college in 4th floor Jones Hall I'll never forget. I encourage students to make the most of it while they are there and don't take your college years for granted because once they're gone, they're gone. You're only in college once.

Graduated with a couple degrees and found jobs easily afterwards. Some phenomenal professors. Great school spirit and the party-atmosphere is becoming overshadowed by some of the more prominent colleges of the university. Some of the greatest years of my life.

It is a very well established University that has taking care of our
baby girl. She has grown into a very beautiful and responsible young
lady. Look out WORLD she has accomplished so much in her time
at ECU. It is hard to believe that it is almost over. We laughed and
cried the first day we dropped her off. We will be experiencing the same
feeling again . It won't be long she is a SENIOR this year!!!!!
WOW!!! Where has the time gone.. We just want to let her know that
we are so proud of her and all of her Accomplishments at ECU!!!
We love you to the Moon and Back. Thank you for taking us on your
Journey !!! Always Remember "TIME +EFFORT = SUCCESS

This school stands out in a state that full of some of the best Universities in the country and East Carolina is no exception. The quality of teachers at this school is hard to touch and the results cannot be argued. The success of this school can definitely be associated with the excellent teaching but it obviously goes beyond that in the selection process. This University seems to accept kids with not just exceptional brains but with incredible business sense and an ability to socially interact that I haven't seen at other universities. I have been very lucky to find many great employees there and have recently considered only recruiting from East Carolina. I can go to other schools in the same league but 9 out of ten times the students from say UNC or NC State don't seem to be able to sale themselves or any product.

My 3 children will all have graduated from ECU by 2018. My wife at 50 in 2019. We are friends with many professors(they range from Conservative to liberal). They too are middle aged and now call Greenville home after wandering about the country. Myself, I worked and lived in every Southern State on the Atlantic Coast, and N.Carolina in the pines is the best. Once had a problem with my son's Stafford Loan funds being wired to his account...the Chancellor of the University told me " I am personally going to make this right"....and did. Football, feels like SEC atmosphere.

Though it's known as a party school, East Carolina is still a great university. Unreal amount of school spirit, and incredible on-campus atmosphere.
