We bought a home in Goose Creek, SC and had a great experience with our realtor, Dean Wilson. He is a highly organized professional and a very friendly, likeable person. A little over a year ago, my girlfriend and I relocated from Illinois and were seeking to buy a home. With the vast knowledge of the area, Dean stepped up to the plate and literally crushed the task at hand. He was persistent, experienced, and kept all lines of communication open throughout the process. With being first time home buyers, Dean handled all the technical aspects of the contract, closing, etc flawlessly. Initially I was not excited to go through this whole process, but Dean changed that mentality. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him whether buying or selling to anyone seeking to relocate to the Charleston area.

We bought a home in North Charleston, SC and had a great experience with realtor, Loren Bethea. She is a highly organized professional and a very friendly likeable person. We relocated from Ohio, so needed someone with a deep knowledge of the area....Loren was able to target homes and communities that met our "must have" list without needless viewing of dozens of homes in the area. She is a lifelong resident of the area, so has an extensive knowledge of property amenities, pros and cons of each area, etc. She handled all the technical aspects of the contract, closing, etc flawlessly.....she is really great! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her whether buying or selling.

We're very grateful to have worked with Lisa West. 2020 has been a very strange and stressful year, but Lisa made it easy for us to find the right home for our family. She was quick to provide us options and helped to narrow things down to what worked for us. She was also very good at explaining all the various processes involved, especially since this was our first time buying a home. We love our new home and would recommend Lisa to anyone looking for not just any place, but the right place.

My experience as a first time home buyer with Dean Wilson was great. The entire process was smooth and when we hit any bumps in the road, Dean was always informative and on top of things. Thanks Carolina One!!

Chris Conway was a tremendous help in assisting me with getting my security deposit back despite a sticky situation. Chris was prompt, professional, and courteous. Great customer service from Chris!

We've been using Carolina One for our rental property for the past two years and they are very professional with quality service.

This is the main office with the owners who in my opinion are not professional whatsoever and do not honor their brand. If I could give zero stars I would. I have reported an agent of theirs and their broker and all they did was blow us off for a trespass committed with the full support and aid of their agent. Do not recommend as they have no honor or accountability.

Rented from them for 4 years. Horrible customer service, different property manager every time I called. We did so much work such as replacing floors with laminate. painted the whole place except bedrooms. Repairs were a nightmare. And now that we bought our own house (for which we did not use them as a realtor- I would never give them the benefit of that commisson) I just received a bill as they claim the "damages and repair go over our security deposit". The homeowner loved us and has offered to pay us the security deposit because he saw all we did for the house.

This company is terrible. Do NOT rent from them. The other review is correct in stating they hire young and inexperienced agents and do not provide training. Plus their turnover and fees are excessive. I moved from out of state and below is snippet of a letter I sent to them about my experience. Note that the property was left much cleaner than when I moved in and I was charged over $600 in fees when I moved out - there were no damages noted to the property.

"When I moved in the kitchen, bathrooms, and the baseboards were disgusting. Before I moved out, all of the cabinets were cleaned, the stove, oven, baseboards, floors, showers, and fixtures. I even pulled the refrigerator out and swept mopped behind it. The house was cared for as if I owned it myself and I think that over $600 in move out fees is excessive. I’m sure there isn’t much that can be done about it, but I would like to leave CarolinaOne feedback and I hope it is shared:
1.) The fees are excessive: $200 inspection fee taken from the security deposit at the end of the lease, plus pet rent.
2.) The contractors that CarolinaOne uses are terrible.
a. As mentioned above, the house was a complete mess when I moved in. I can only imagine the cleaning job I paid $100 for. I can tell you the garage floor should have been spotless and the stove drip pans should be made out of gold.
b. The inspector for the sprinkler system backflow valve didn’t even inspect it but tagged it ok. The first time I turned it on it leaked through a giant crack in the side of the valve that was very obvious. I reported this to the property manager at the time…nothing was done except for the valve being fixed.
c. The installation of the fence that was promised at the beginning of the lease took 9 months. How does it take 9 months to install a fence?
d. When I moved in the yard was full of leaves and other yard waste. A company was paid to remove the leaves. Following their work, I personally removed another 31 full bags of leaves and debris from the yard. I reported this to the property manager at the time…nothing was done.
3.) CarolinaOne’s turnover rate is ridiculous. I have multiple property managers over the 1 year period I rented the property. There was one occasion where a maintenance request was not responded to for over a month and I can only attribute that to the lack of a manager for my property.
4.) I was misinformed about taking someone off the lease when I first asked the question. I was told it was an easy process, all I had to do was submit some pay information, and it turns out there is a long drawn out process involved. Further, since I couldn’t take my wife, from whom I was legally separated, off the lease without a bunch hassle, she called the office and got information she should necessarily have been privy too. She also called the community security desk and tracked the whereabouts of my vehicle based on the swipes of the security sticker through the gate. I do not appreciate this breach of privacy.
I don’t have much good to say about my rental experience, unfortunately. The rental home wasn’t that great considering my rent was $1700 a month: the community is terrible, the size of the home is overstated, and the service from CarolinaOne was mediocre at best. The exorbitant fees at the end of the lease are the icing on the cake for my experience. Had I not been in a hurry to find a property I would have done a little more research and not rented the property or from CarolinaOne. Good luck and please share my sentiments with your colleagues and the property owner...he should know how his property is managed."

I will NEVER use them to buy EVER. I spoke to about 6 different realtors, including the OWNER, who would not return my calls or emails. I even would get sent to voicemail and they would text me on my cell, and would not return my texts. Not one person was interested in getting back to me, and I have yet to have them reach out to me again from weeks ago. I ended up buying a home with a completely different property group. These people want nothing to do with you.

This people are rental trash, they charge up front 225 non refundable for management fee, at the end they charge another $200 for maintenance coordination which basically means because they have to send someone to the place you rented to inspected, then they used a company that is in their building to do the maintenance. Charge $490 for eight nail holes, and $78 for a light bulb. $125 for cleaning fee (oven only)
