South Bexar County VA Clinic

VA clinic my primary care team located for last 14 years. One VIA trip per hour until now. After 14 years there are now 2 bus trips per hour scheduled veteran can use. It makes scheduling visits quite easy.

the facility is very small and looks old. Found out its been there for 20 years. Everyone I delt with was super friendly and helpful. Just had blood work to do, and the gentlemen doing it was talkative and personable. Great place to have labs done.

I need to thank PA AMY for helping me during my appointment. She is very knowledgeable, professional and family friendly atmosphere that gives me a piece of mind.
May I also thank Juan for returning my call promptly even near closing time and helping me receive an answer in a very kind manner.

The South Bexar Out Patient VA Clinic always delivers first class service to the veterans and has a good and caring staff.

I have been receiving services there at the VASBOC and I have never had any issues there at all, nothing but great services, convenient, friendly and professional staff, even the parking is adequate.

It’s not the office that’s a problem, it’s the fact that there is no direct line to the office. So if your doctor called you and you missed the call, you would have to call the call center and they would leave a message with the doctor and you would pray you answer the next time or it’s going to be a never ending cycle. It’s annoying and beyond frustrating.

Every time I go, gets worse. Can't get anyone on the phone and if you do you get hung up on after being on hold.
the only good thing are the people who take labs. Got a good sense of humor. But that's it.

As noted by many of the remarks, its a real shame that we cannot contact the staff at the Bexar Clinic. How are they supposed to serve the Veterans assigned to the Clinic when they won't even give us phone numbers to the care providers or their staff. I get calls from staff telling me that it is very, very important that I contact them and then they give me a number to the VA Appointment line which is another nightmare to get through. This process should be looked at by the VA Office of Inspector General to root out this bad process and come up with a better solution. This is really, really bad.

Honestly, the staff and doctors are amazing, they even got a guy who never misses a stick on blood draws. The one star review is because it is ABSOLUTE HELL trying to get in contact with ANYONE at this office. You’ll stay on hold forever for just the front desk, then they can only let your primary care team know you’re trying to contact them, and refuse to give extensions. Then if you miss that call, you’ll have to do it all again. God forbid you try to get ahold of your own team, none of the nurses take messages, so you’re directed to the VA hotline where you’ll wait even longer on hold and MAYBE they put you in contact with the right person. The whole process needs to be reworked ASAP.

Go in for labs at 1500hrs, when they close at 1630hrs. I was informed, “oh, they already picked up the labs for the day.” I asked, when do they pick them up? Receptionist answers, “1415hrs, but you can go to Audie Murphy.” I came here to avoid having to travel all the way there.

VA clinic , when you call to set for an appointment it takes so long for them to answer and then when finally someone answered, the transferred you to someone else and wait another 30 minutes for that person to finally response, then that person would tell you that he will transfer you to someone specialized to what you needed, then after that no one bother to say how long the approximate wait. The another
at very least 30 minutes or longer for someone speak to you and seem no one cares. Basically they will give you a run around like they don't want to do their job.I don't know what it is? I hope someone would actually pay attention and change their way to handle these situation. We are in the new generation with new technology to speed up the process!!

Communication is terrible. No way to call in and talk with anyone for anything. No wonder so many vets would rather live with a disorder or pay for treatment then to try and navigate through the red tape and comms issues.

Was on hold for an hour and a half on the telephone than was auto transfered on the phone to another VA hospital that hung up on me. All to schedule a Covid test. I am a disabled war veteran and new to the area this is the worst experience I have ever seen with the VA
