Al's BBQ

First of all, I’m a big fan of “hole in the wall” type places as long as the food is good. Al’s BBQ did not disappoint! I got the sliced beef sandwich with my sauce on the side, because I don’t like too much sauce. It was tender and delicious! And of course, Al is so likeable that it makes the experience even better….I will be coming back for more for sure!

We wanted BBQ and read the amazing reviews, one even posted earlier today! Yes, it's really a shack on the side of the road but we are SO happy we stopped there. We got the "Plate Lunch" to go (times four). The gentleman inside was very friendly and got us our food nice and quickly. We took it home and it fed four adults plus there are still a LOT of leftovers. It included three types of meat (brisket, fall-off-the-bone ribs and sausage), beans, potato salad, corn bread, and had pickles and onions on the side. We all agreed that all three meats were amazing and we enjoyed all the side dishes too. I needed to write a great review for this place because that's how we found out about it. :)

Roadside bbq, best in the area. This gentleman has been here for a long time and his bbq is my favorite in East Texas. He gets just the right proportion of lean meat with a small bit of outside fat and a perfect sauce. I stop every time he is open and I am in the area.

Uncle AL is a really friendly man, and his BBQ could be the best in Texas...

Always good. Plus Al is always so friendly. Building may not look like much but the BBQ is worth the stop. And my family also says he has the best burgers in the world

We travel to East Texas at least twice a year. We also stop in at Al's BBQ at least twice a year. Best rib sandwich in Texas.

The brisket is some of the best I've ever had, the guy running the place is a kind and humble gentleman.
