I couldn’t be happier with the care we received here. My golden had seizures non stop for over an hour and we truly don’t know how he is still here with us.. it is truly a miracle. Dr Gomoll went above and beyond and explained everything to us and she was very compassionate to our situation. The staff were very knowledgeable with everything we had questions and concerns about with his past experiences at the vet we usually bring him to. I can’t recommend this emergency vet enough! If it wasn’t so far for us we would absolutely switch here for all of our dogs routine care. The Neurologist was so great to deal with as well. We are so thankful to every staff member here, they saved our boy and we couldn’t be happier even with how traumatic the whole night was for us. Highly recommend this vet for any emergency needs.

The team at NVS is top notch! From the staff to the docs we felt like priority when our sweet Stella was there. Thank you for making my girl feel like a rock star, for taking such good care of her during her ICU stay and especially during her surgery.
NVS team calmed my anxious nerves and even let us see our sweet girl later hours after surgery. They gave us updates consistently and were very diligent on getting to the root cause of Stella’s condition. The surgery team helped us feel calm over a major surgery to remove a tumor and never let us feel uncomfortable asking questions.
This place is on top of things and we were really impressed. Thank you especially to Kersti from the front desk for greeting my Stella like a celebrity and all the techs for loving on my scared girl. All the ER docs were extra compassionate, throughout and diligent! You guys are the best! THANK YOU!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about NVS. It is the best place you never want to be! They treated my Eleanor who came in with what we thought was a severe case of pneumonia, efficiently, but with gentle care, putting her immediately on oxygen. They were communicative and kind hearted! Turned out, my sweet angel, had a lung lobe torsion and needed immediate surgery! The surgical team and Internal Medicine team were so detailed and gave me all the information and answered all my questions making me feel very at ease at a very scary moment! I was contacted directly by the Surgeon, Dr. Armstrong, upon completion and told all went well and exactly to his plan! My sweet girl has a road to recovery, but without NVS, I’m not sure where she would be! Everyone from the front desk staff, to the nurses, to all the Doctors, and everyone in between, were so kind and so gentle and so understanding! I don’t have enough words of gratitude in my heart to truly express how thankful I am for them!!!

I can't thank Dr. Tidwell and the staff enough for the special care my Yorkie, Priscilla, received! I also appreciated the transparency regarding the costs involved, while also determining the best care plan for my pup!

Dr House has been amazing! Our shih tzu has encephalitis and she is now on a path to recovery due to the professional knowledge of the oncology dept. Highly recommend this place when you need more help/medical attention than your vet can provide.

My cat, Ophelia, became ill in the early morning hours. With our previous pets we had been fortunate enough to not need to seek an emergency vet. We found Nashville Veterinary Specialists and called to let them know I would be taking her in. They immediately took her back to try to stabilize her. Dr. Kara came out to explain her condition to me and was very thorough with the information she did have and answering my questions. Unfortunately, after some more tests it was determined that Ophelia was too critical. I had to make the hardest decision one has to make for their pets. The staff took me to the family room, which was quiet and calm. They allowed me all the time I needed with Ophelia and I will be forever grateful to them. All the staff showed great compassion and care. They also gave me a print of her paw and little nose. If your pet is having an emergency after hours don't hesitate to call and have your pet seen here.

Seriously, this place has the kindest staff. They were so gentle and sweet to my boy, Rex. I especially liked the ‘wait at home’ option available, rather than sitting in a lobby for hours. We were able to keep Rex at home nice and relaxed while we waited and the staff kept me informed via text on wait times and when to come in. Highly recommend.

I cannot express enough how AMAZING Dr. Sessions and his team are!! Betsy took really great care of our girl too❤
Dr. Sessions spent time with us explaining each and every line on her blood work, concerns, symptoms, causes, tests and results. He made sure results made sense or he had them redone to ensure our little girl was treated for the right issue.
While she’s not out of the woods she is home after 7 nights and doing better❤

As fate would have it we found out Dr. Sessions had also treated our daughters dog back in 2016 while he was in Memphis. She always praised him and now we know why❤❤❤❤

My oldest dog Zoe passed away in the early hours of the morning, today. I took her in to have her cremated. We’ve been there many times before but, this was the hardest. Kristi and the rest of the staff were incredibly supportive! Love this place!

Our 4 year old lab became sick around April of 2023. After several different tests, xrays, and ultrasounds, a mass was found in her intestines. She was referred to NVS for surgery. Dr. Salinas and her team were great! We got in very quickly and the surgery went well. Following the surgery, we received the unfortunate news that our precious pup had GI lymphoma. We met with Dr. Vancil in oncology and he was honest and compassionate regarding the situation. We opted to put her through chemo to give her the best chance and the best quality of life. The NVS team was great along the way and treated our girl amazingly. We couldn’t have asked for better support through this very difficult time. Unfortunately, she became very sick and her fight came to and end on December 22. The compassion from Dr. Mallard and the oncology vet tech, Courtney, was unprecedented. We never felt rushed through the process and they made one of the most difficult days a little bit better. NVS uses Pet Angel for the cremation and they also provided a great experience for us. While the care at NVS is not cheap, it is incredibly worth it.

No one ever wants to take a trip to the emergency vet, but if you have to, being greeted by friendly people matters. Every single staff member I came in contact with was lovely. They got my pup in in a timely matter, and kept me updated along the way. I hope I don't have to come back anytime soon, but would trust them with any of my pup's future needs.

We brought in our GSD puppy who had a dog treat stuck in her throat. Our normal vet couldn’t reach it with the regular scope & they told us to be prepared to pay for her to be put under anesthesia. The veterinarian technician at Nashville Veterinary Specialists,Jessica, was able to look at the x rays taken by our vet and acted quickly by massaging her larynx. Out popped the treat! She saved us over $4,000!!!! And they even refunded part of the exam fee because she solved the problem before the doctor even saw her. From start to finish every single staff member was unbelievably kind, understanding, honest, and thoughtful. I hope I never have to come back here lol but if my puppy ever gets into trouble again we will absolutely be coming back here!! Don’t hesitate to take your pup here when you have an emergency!! THANK YOU EVERYONE & THANK YOU JESSICA!!!

Our dog, Sadie, was admitted into the ICU at NVS where she spent 4 days. Drs. Sessions, Tidwell, Patterson and Clark were all wonderful. They answered all of my concerns and questions. I was in the loop the entire time. Thank you for taking excellent care of my girl.

Fantastic place for your fur baby. Clean and the staff was amazing. Everyone from the front desk,techs, doctors were all so kind and caring with my maltese who came into emergency care . Im very pleased with the care we received.They even cleaned him up and brushed him.Gave him a sponge bath after the long week we had keeping him alive. Sent him home with some chicken for our hour ride home. Thank you for caring for milo like we do ❤

We trust our boy with the competent & caring staff at Nashville Veterinary Specialists. They are extremely knowledgeable & transparent up front in terms of cost, which we appreciate. Many thanks to them for the work they do! You can tell they truly love their patients. I recommend them to everyone.

My little terrier has congestive heart failure and was having difficulty breathing. They put her in oxygen and did tests and adjusted her medication. They were very kind and kept us informed of her progress. She is home and doing well!

My dog Franklin had a small mast cell tumor on his head, and I was nervous about getting it removed as I just moved to Nashville and didn’t know any vets. NVS came highly recommended and not only did they get me right in and explain every step of the process, everyone on their team was obsessed with him :) They were so sweet with my shy little guy, and I’m so glad they came to our rescue!

They are the absolute best! My dogs have been treated by their ER vets, cardiologists, and orthopedists. My beloved heart dog received the absolute best care. After she passed away, her cardiologist even sent my daughter a children’s book about losing a beloved pet. My best buddy was seen in the ER a few days ago and they were wonderful. They fit us in immediately and gave him the best care. He has also had an ACL repair, chemo, a malignant mass removed and emergency tail amputation. We have never received anything but the very best care. I recommend them to all my friends and family!

The staff is wonderful! Recently, my dog Lucy was very sick and as a newer dog mom I was experiencing one of the most scariest moments and they were understanding, patient, caring, clear, responsive, knowledgeable, and thorough in explaining next steps and what’s going on. Even when we found a mass, their team was so great at explaining what if situations and transparent about pricing. It made a very stressful situation so much less stressful.

Brought my Sweet Baby Girl in thinking she was possibly poisoned many tests later thoughts were not a poisoning but unknown what actually happened to her but better safe then sorry. Everyone was absolutely Fantastic Companionate Understanding and Patience, answered all my questions and most importantly treating my Baby Girl as if she were the only patient from intake to discharge A+
