We were passing by this town on the way to San Antonio and decided to stop by the Longhorn Museum. It was free with obviously a donation box and it was definitely worth the stop.

For a small town museum it was packed with artifacts, old fashioned exhibits, and history. The new windmill exhibit was open and it was nice.

We spent about 45 minutes here. You could see it all faster or you could read about everything and stay much longer.

This was a fun and quick highway stop. The museum was donation-based, and featured a variety of mounted animal heads, and a few full taxidermies. There was also an original train that you could go in, and a room full of windmills from across America.

A museum worth every penny. Can’t believe this place is 200 years old. Best display of Texas history and taxidermy. We paid $45/ticket. You are allowed to take drinks from the cafe into the museum. Takes about 2-3hours to tour this place. The gift shop has interesting souvenirs.

FREE museum!! FREE parking!! A good place to bring kids of all ages! Easy to walk through the museum (no stairs to climb). Amazing collection of taxidermy! The lady working at the front desk on February 24th was pleasant! There are picnic tables outside so feel free to sit in the shade.

The Longhorn Museum is a charming Texan and American history museum, well worth a stop for any history buff. The displays include lovingly arranged cowboy and homesteader tools and antiques, complete with descriptions of where they were used and from whom they were donated, an assortment of windmills, and a Union Pacific traincar. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Donations are accepted but the museum is free!

Great museum! Staff are wonderful and very helpful, and you could spend hours reading all of the descriptions. There's an interactive area for kids, and plenty of tables in the back to do activities. The Yesteryear festival they hold has so many amazing and talented people brought in, I've seen everything from leatherworkers to riverdancers to historical metal detectors present.

The museum society usually has a new person come in every meeting to explain what they do or share stories to the society members, so it's really worth joining if that interests you.

I can't believe they do all of this while being free admission. Using the donations, they help the community by putting together scholarships and hosting events. It's truly incredible how much they do.

A very interesting museum featuring local western notables, antique ranching implements, and many interesting, unusual, and obscure items from the immediate area and South Texas. The entrance fee was free, and donations are accepted and appreciated! A must-see if you are in the area!

Excellent! Great staff and fun collections of life in the 'old' times. Fantastic windmill collection; real caboose to go on; lots and lots of stuffed animals and heads; hearse carryage; spurs; photos; etc. Etc. Etc.
