Went to Haystacks to get dessert after eating lunch. They offered something called State Fair Waffle that wasn't even on the menu! The sweet server we had suggested it, and it was so delicious and had the best flavors! Lots of cinnamon and caramel, and I think toffee ice cream on top! I'm posting a pic for everyone to see. My hubby got the key lime pie, which he said tasted better than most other ones he's tried. Cute little place to stop in if you are walking down the streets and sightseeing at Sulphur Springs like we were and want a specialty coffee, a yummy treat or even lunch!

Amazing brunch! Love that they have a coffee bar with a great selection so you can enjoy a specialty coffee with your brunch. My tip: get a large coffee (I prefer iced) and drink it with your brunch and then the rest of your coffee with you to walk around the downtown area.

The skillets and bowls that they offer are really good. Looking forward to trying some of their other brunch offerings, as well as some lunch items. We will be back for sure!

Staff was incredibly friendly and the restaurant is also very clean! Nice atmosphere for a quick, quiet lunch! The food was great for a home style type meal! Parking is on the street, no designated parking area, but easily accessible! Definitely recommend trying if you’re in the area and want something nice but laid back! Posting an updated menu because the ones I found online were a little outdated!

I have never had food that tasted as rich and delicious as the Classic Eggs Benny. I wish I lived near here so i could eat here all the time.

This place was all-around GREAT!! We arrived at 10am on a Thursday and chose to eat out front at a table for two. The staff was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was homy, clean and welcoming, and the menu has just enough variety with unexpected options throughout. We had the beignets to start, CFS w/eggs (Hopkins fixin's) and a hash bale (hashbrowns mashed together and formed into a small haystack shape), and the Eggs Hoko- an English muffin topped with smoked salmon, red onions, capers, poached eggs, and Hollandaise- w/ a hash bale. The flavors were perfectly balanced, textures were on point for each dish (the CFS batter melted in your mouth while still being crunchy), and it came to us quickly.
I highly recommend this establishment and we decided to return regularly before we'd even finished our plates.

Nice downtown place to have breakfast with family, super attentive waiter.
We ordered hot chocolate for my little boy and she requested the appropriate temperature for a little kid.
Food was delicious, best waffles ever, eggs Benedict were so tasty!!!
Coffee hit the spot!

From an aspiring food critic:
The flavors this place brings to the food is an absolute treasure. THE COWPOWKE BRUSCHETTA EXPLODES IN YOUR MOUTH WITH INTENSE satisfaction. I will however add a quick side note: next time we come back I will order the cilantro on it( for all cilantro lovers out there.)
I got the gydn Benedict with bacon added and it was glorious, the ball of hash browns was an amazing idea, however I wish it has a little more flavor and a more decent temperature. However, the entrees, atmosphere, appetizer, and appearance won me over for a complete five star review; (Even the bloody Mary’s were flavorful and it’s so hard to find a good bloody Mary.) I wish we had room for desert but I will be back for sure. Can’t believe we found this diamond in the rough, in such a quaint little town. This compares to no restaurant in either Fortworth or Dallas. Trust me, I’ve been to every so called “amazing eats” place you could think of but let me tell you… This is it.

This is the only place I’ve ever been satisfied completely from in the door to paying the bill. Server KB was fabulous. She anticipated what we may ask for before we could even open our mouths. Food was excellent, and piping hot when served which was perfect for us. Relaxing atmosphere on a Wednesday evening which is what we were looking for. Haystacks met every expectation for me and my book for what I want my experience to be when I get to get out and have a meal away from the kiddos.Price wasn’t a downer either! When I go out to eat, it’s not only about the food quality for me. It’s the experience all around and Haystacks you’ve got a %100 score for my checklist. Thank for an amazing meal and service!!! First time, definitely not the last! We started with a key lime pie martini and lobster and crab on brioche. Then I had a lemon pepper sea bass and they ordered the chicken fried steak. The rosemary mashed potatoes were unforgettable!! Everything was absolutely perfect. Great service and i can't wait to go back for brunch!

I was here visiting from Florida and was killing time talking around downtown &trying to decide where to eat. We stopped outside this place to read their menu. The owner came out and greeted us! He was super kind. We ended up walking around more before deciding to come back. I ordered some tacos that were OUTSTANDING!! The owner came up and gave us some “cowboy” cookies on the house. He said that he enjoys giving his baked goods away. I felt like it spoke volumes about him as a chef and a business owner. The atmosphere was so cute!! Such a huge selection of food as well. Would absolutely recommend if you’re visiting (or local) to the area!!

On a quick visit to Sulphur Springs, we decided it was time for lunch and gave this place a try.

The food was excellent, especially the waffles. They had a sweetness and a crisp exterior that made them very good. I didn't need syrup to enjoy them, but they had it available and also a spicy maple syrup that gave it a kick.

Eggs and bacon are cooked how you like them, and they came out just as we asked.

Our server was very attentive, but not annoyingly so. Our drinks were refilled promptly, and the table never had a discarded plate for long. The place was fairly busy, but we didn't have to wait long to be seated, served, or attended to.

The prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food and service.

We absolutely love this restaurant! We drive over an hour just for the food. It started with my sister, then my mother, and now us. We came from all over to meet here for brunch. Every meal we have tried has been delicious: shrimp n grits, chicken fried steak, french toast, biscuit n gravy, lox bagel, steak and eggs, avocado toast, mimosas, sunrise, and the lattes iced. The servers are great at what they do, the owner walks around checking on people and they remember faces. We enjoy each visit, they are child friendly and we have not had more than a 20 minute wait, at most, when they were busy. Highly recommend eating at Haystacks!

Chicken & waffles were sooooo good. Perfect crisp to chicken and juicy in the middle and crispy edges on the waffles with fluffy in the middle. The waffles were sweet enough without syrup, which was delightful. I enjoyed the spicy syrup but could be more spicy (I eat a lot of hot foods). The shrimp and grits were good, but definitely not Cajun (Louisiana girl, so a little biased). We will be returning so I can try the biscuits and gravy!

Soooo good. After driving 12 hours we stumbled upon this place and today we drove all night to start our day here once again.
Why?
Because after being cooped up in a car with three people and 2 dogs a nice spacious restaurant with friendly staff and really good food makes it possible to face the long day ahead.
This trip I've discovered the gift shop section and love the Flowers by Ann which supports local nursing homes.

I highly recommend coming in for breakfast!

Reservations are required, booking was easy and we were greeted pleasantly by a smiling host who confirmed our reservation and seated us with a smooth hand off to our server who already had fresh glasses of ice water when he introduced himself, we ordered a pitcher of mimosas which contained a full bottle of champagne and enough oj to top off a half gallon pitcher, we could've had 4 at our table with enough for everyone, but we only had us 2 and gave a little under a half to the table next to us. She ordered cinnamon rolls, that were light and airy, the proof had to have been perfect on them, because they almost melted in your mouth without having to chew!

I ordered chicken and waffles, waffles were big and fluffy and hearty with the original syrup and house butter slathered everywhere on them. I chose to eat the chicken nuggets with the Sriracha maple syrup. All in all it was woth the great price we paid. $60ish for 2 brunches and a pitcher of mimosas. If I'm around there again I'll definitely go eat there again!

The food here is above the top. It's excellent, all the way around. The service was great. The waitresses were very polite as well as tentative. If you're a fan of bread pudding this place makes the best I've ever eaten.

They have a specialty sandwich called the Hannibal which is to die for. Ha! The ambiance is country chic which fits right in with the great downtown face-lifts. Service was awesome and super accommodating.

We get to talk to the owner each time and have a great relationship with him and our servers. It’s a relaxed atmosphere for any time of the day with perfectly amazing food, coffees, appetizers, and beer.

The food is always fantastic…best pastries I’ve ever had and creative takes on sandwiches. Also, they always create new desserts and let the guests try them out (they’re always amazing!).

Our favorite restaurant in town!

This was a exquisite lunch at a bistro style restaurant. The chicken bacon club was an excellent choice. The location was fairly busy as there were 6 or 7 tables of 2 to 5 people each. There seemed to be plenty of servers as we did not wait long for our meal. The waiter we had was very attentive with our drinks and checking on us throughout the dining experience. Excellent job Haystack!
