Great shop. She is awesome. Even opened the the store for us when she wasn't there. Great shop. Guys moms and the kids all enjoyed it. Lots of History. Worth a visit. A must if you like hand-made stuff. If you like hummingbirds you have to stop there. Alpaca wool at a great price.

What a great store! Nanette was so kind & took the time to share the stories behind some of the hand-crafted items made by her family. We loved our experience & this will definitely be a place we shop again! Go check it out too!!

Nanette’s Knits and Gifts is the coolest place for a knitter like me. I can make a run up to the shop and grab beautiful yarn and Nanette helps me choose a pattern that is at my level - beginner trying to advance to advanced beginner. When I get home and mess up, it’s back to the shop for a bit of help. I do notice that I am getting better at fixing mistakes myself which is the point, but the shop is such a neat place to hang out, that I feel more confident picking harder projects because I like the atmosphere of sitting around the stove and knitting and listening to Nanette tell clients about the products available. Not just any products, almost all are made by family members.
Take the hummingbird feeder. I have tons of feeders in my room shed, all promising different things. When I bought Nanette’s brothers feeder, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. This feeder is so easy to use and the hummers love it! It is also indestructible and dishwasher safe.
Nanette is also a children’s book author, and her book about a story her Grandmother told her about wolf pups and cookies is destined to be a grandchild’s favorite. It’s pretty amazing that it’s a true story!
There is too much to tell you about, but don’t worry if it’s a bit of a drive, it’s an amazing experience and some of the best pasties in the area are right next door!!

Great little yarn shop in Upper Michigan. The owner Nanette is so nice and friendly. At her shop you can find a beautiful selection of different types of yarn, knitting supplies, and locally made items. When we come up every year for our family ski trip, my mother in law and I always make sure to stop here.

Perfect place for us fiber artists that want and need fine yarns and supplies. The gifts are amazing as well. Love the fireplace and couch in the back but I’ve never had occasion to enjoy it. Nanette is a good source of help with yarn, supplies and techniques. ,

Calming Homespun feel yet stimulating colors, textures, smells and bells. All USA made or sourced. High quality Gifts for every one. "Brother made" carvings next to the corner fireplace. Nanette uses her Alpaca's fur to hand craft comfortable, soft and durable socks, hats, scarves and more. Unique hummingbird, Oriole and butterfly feeders, local maple syrup, honey. Souvenir t's, flannels, hats, and license plates! Did some Christmas shopping for next year, it's that nice.

Beautiful stuff in here. Can't wait to wear my sweaters and socks. I will finally have a warm winter in the UP. Thank you Nanette for sharing the family involvement in the business. What a great story. I will cherish your sisters hard work stitched in my sweater. It was nice chatting with you.

My favorite store in the U.P.! Wool, yarn, gifts, and local creations by very talented people. Nanette, the owner is just adorable and you can see her love for her customers, her family and her store. Can't recommend enough, definitely worth a stop. Once I forgot a ball of yarn and she went out of her way to contact me to make sure I got everything I purchased. 10 stars
