Very sweet little place with great breakfast options. The staff is always so kind & engaging, it's inside a locally owned bookstore, and the coffee is good; what more could you want? The bookstore the cafe is in, Toadstools, is a favorite haunt of mine when I'm in town. There's nothing better than picking out a new book, getting a fresh coffee, and enjoying by the river in the warm months.

The very sweet bearded man had the kindest, funniest personality while my older mom and I were figuring out what to eat. We split the apple, bacon and onion sandwiche and had a cup of the curry carrot soup each. It was absolutely perfect for us. We roamed around the bookstore after and we just kept talking about that sandwich all day. My only note is that coconut cream would've been awesome in the soup

Always a great selection of pastries and coffee drinks- the cinnamon rolls are super yum! Staff are kind and helpful. The atmosphere is quaint- a perfect place either inside or out to have breakfast, lunch or coffee with friends. Being in a bookstore is a plus as well

A cozy spot to sit with a friend or alone with your journal or to get some work done. Delicious coffee and pastries and sandwiches too! Friendly staff make you feel right at home. The bookshop that shares the building is lovely as well.

I love tucking in here for a latte. The Bengal is the crown prince of breakfast sandwiches that I have had, highly recommended. It’s a tiny space with some nice outdoor seating. The staff is great and likes to get to know the regulars.

Small place but wonderful soup, baked goods, etc, and outdoor seats housed at a wonderful bookstore, Toadstool. My favorite spot.

The veggie breakfast sandwich was great and they subbed spinach with avocado which was actually delicious.

Aesop's Tables had the best sandwiches on Bagels from the local Bagel Mill vegan and Vegetarian options, and the sweetest little cafe environment with the tastiest treats! If you like prompt service good inexpensive food, and relaxing with a good book this is your spot :)

Best service, Coffee, breakfast, lunch, and atmosphere in town. a perfect place to hang out, meet friends, or just read a book like no other!!

Good coffee in ceramic mugs, hearty squash carrot soup, cozy atmosphere, great salt and pepper shakers!

This place is a little gem in town. Right inside the bookstore, they run great food specials daily. There are always vegetarian options too. I have picky kids in my house, so they usually choose a baked good option instead of lunch. Coffee is really good. The seating area is quite small inside, so head outside if the weather is nice or take it to go.

The food here is local and absolutely delicious. Staff is very friendly. For local eggs and such the prices are excellent! Everything on the menu is under 9$ and some of the best quality in town. So glad to have found this beautiful gem. The cafe is beautifully decorated with local art for sale and really adds local flavor to the town. Thank you for an amazing breakfast salad!

Truly delicious food. And a wonderful staff - everyone is so very kind, warm and friendly. Definitely my favorite place to eat in Peterborough.

First visit and will be back. Friendly employees and yummy foods. Bagels are from another local business and amazing dairy free egg sliders. Scone and cookie were to die for and locally brewed coffee too.

Amazing peanut noodle bowl with udon noodles, vegetables, and loads of scallions and ginger! Finished off with a raspberry hibiscus tea cake and mocha - everything was so delicious!

Had a yummy house salad with fresh roast turkey for lunch today. So so fresh and colorful. Cormac working the front was so so sweet and helpful on what to order!

Very friendly and helpful. I forgot my drinking water bottle behind, called them once we got home. They cheerfully found it and has set it aside for me. Awesome breakfast too.😊

Great little cafe inside toadstool bookstore. Lots of great sweets including gluten free and vegan options.
