Peterborough Community Theatre

The Peterborough Community Theater is cozy and welcoming. The movies that they book are high quality, often already gone from big cinema. The matinee deal is great!

We love this family-owned local theater. The community movie theater experience is very different than the experience at big cinema chains. We also rented the facility for my son's 18th birthday party. The owners were great to work with and very accommodating and even displayed a message on the marquee

The popcorn was the best I've had in any movie theater in the United States of America..... $6 for a large and real butter 🥰🥰🥰🤗..... I don't even care what the movie was.... But it was good too

We just rented the theater for a socially distant birthday. So fun! Wizard of Oz really holds up -- noticed so many details we'd never seen before on the big screen. Really love this theater, the owners, and this idea to keep going during a pandemic. Highly recommend!

Delightfully welcoming and intimate setting to experience a film. Efficient and friendly staff sold tickets and concessions from the same window in seconds. Instead of ads there were musical performances and short films. Can't wait to go to the next film, I almost don't care what's showing.

Simply the most adorable place to see a movie! Not a bad seat in the house. We guesstimated that there are only 100 seats available.
Fresh, hot popcorn with real creamery butter and salt if you choose. Also they have bottled drinks and candy choices.
It is a bit of a hike from where we live (almost an hour) but we made a day of it with a late breakfast and some errands in Peterborough before the afternoon matinee at 3.
Get there before the box office opens (45 minutes before showtime) if you want to be sure to get a ticket. There are no pre-sale or online tickets.
It fills up fast on rainy days or popular movies.

Locally owned business is a fabulous place to spend your money. Owners are kind and caring and go out of their way to make sure you have a good time. Have an indie movie you want to see? Just drop them a line, tag them on social media, etc. Homemade all natural flavorings to add to your popcorn is free.

Update: 2023. Still locally owned by the same folks. Thinking that it would be a great place to host Rocky Horror Picture show with live cast. 🤔

A very pleasant local theater. Small by cineplex standards, but it has a decent sound system, good crisp projection, and comfortable seats. The ticket price is very reasonable, and the snack bar, although not outfitted with the junk food smorgasbord that has become de rigeur for the chain cinemas, still has enough to satisfy most for a couple hours. My first visit, but I will happily return in the future.

So cozy! The popcorn is delicious and fresh and you can sprinkle any combination of toppings on it for free!. They have real butter and it tastes great! Ticket prices are reasonable and the sound system was excellent. Woman working the counter was very friendly and welcoming. This would be a great place for a date night. We intend to check back often to see what is playing each week as we would definitely return.

We have always loved going to movies at PCT. We've been twice since the re-opening, and thoroughly enjoyed both. The choice of movies has always been great--a nice mixture. The staff is fabulous and keep the theater, lobby and restrooms very clean. Thank you Vanessa for all your hard work!

Peterborough Community Theatre is doing a wonderful job during an extremely difficult time. They are offering great movies in a safe space. I really appreciate their Vaccinated Only shows. It's the only way I feel comfortable sitting in an indoor space with people that I don't know for 2 hours while the Delta variant is on the upswing. Offering Vaccinated Only shows means that I get to go to the movies! Thank you, PCT!

My children and I had an amazing time there! It's one theatre only, so one film runs at a time. The popcorn is organic and GMO free (if that's your thing) and you can choose from a wide variety of topping shakers or opt for high quality butter. Assortment of candy and beverages for sale. They have seltzer flavors too! Very cute decor inside, clean too. It flows perfectly with the whole Peterborough vibe.

A good local theatre. Ticket prices good, snack prices alright, a good variety of candy/drinks/snacks available! Cartoons shown before the movie, which is lovely, and the theatre kept nice and warm. Have gone a few times, and even when I haven't heard about the movie they're showing, it always turns out to be an interesting title. Will be visiting again soon.

I love this theater. Here in our little town we feel very fortunate to have this friendly and personal space to call our own. It plays current movies but unfortunately they don’t stay for long so you must be patient if there is something you truly want to see close to home. All moviegoers respect you and your space. The chairs are comfortable and easy to get in and out of. Your feet will not stick to the floor.

We are so lucky to have this community theatre here in Peterborough (the oldest running theatre in NH). It is truly one of the gems of our region. We feel much gratitude and appreciation for the owners who reached out to the communiity (via questionaire) and responded to those with Covid concerns by offering a few showings that require proof of vaccination. For those that don't care about that, there are other days and showings available - limited to 50% capacity for public safety. The shows have been terrific and it is a special treat to be greeted and served in such a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere!!!

Wonderful small theater and very accommodating considering covid times. Rented it for my birthday at the start of the pandemic and then again for valentines day when they had special valentines themed packages available. I'm glad these folks are keeping the PCT alive and running!

I love this theatre. It's small, intimate and clean. The sound and screen is very up to date and excellent. Popcorn is first rate, and then of course there is Carol smiling at you behind the counter. What's better than that?

Great small town theater, very traditional experience. They recently got an updated digital projector so the viewing quality is very good. It's usually easy to get a seat, on the opening nights of large movies it can get crowded but that is to be expected

I have always enjoyed this movie theatre. Always a friendly service, clean and great popcorn too! It has been difficult times with Covid but they have their clear protocols that makes me feel at ease with going back to the movies during a pandemic.

PCT is a wonderful community ‘gem’ for our local region! Management takes great care in cleaning and following protocols recommended by the CDC during Covid-times. And, their personal service is exemplary. It has always been a pleasure to frequent this business!
