Candlewood Pediatrics: Tatyana Shkolnaya MD

Dr. Shkolnaya has treated both of our special needs children, one having multiple rare genetic disorders. She has saved my daughters life when other hospitals could not figure out what was going on. She is the best competent doctor I have ever come across, as I have seen many many physicians. She takes her time with each and everyone of her patients. A rare breed indeed. You will not be disappointed. Her staff, and Natasha the office manager is prompt and precise.

The entire team at Candlewood Pediatrics is amazing. Dr. Shkolnaya is knowledgeable, thoughtful, caring, and effective. We cannot thank her enough for the amazing care and guidance she's given us in raising our two children.

She's an amazing doctor and I'm so grateful to have found a pediatrician for my daughter like her!

Great pediatrition with great staff...

What a shame. Such a great doctor. Unfortunately office staff is unprofessional, rude and dismissive. Called for appointment. Was told I needed to receive and sign email to get records switched over. Didn’t get email. Called the next day to follow up. Was told they didn’t send it yet. After 2 full weeks, called back and was told they still hadn’t sent it. Gave all my info again. Then was given a canned response about “patients need to be prioritized” because they are short-staffed etc. I offered to go to another doctor if they weren’t taking new patients and was told, “we ARE taking new patients. I reiterated that we were patients already from 4 years ago and just needed the doc so I could bring my daughter in for an issue she was having. Was put in hold. They never came back on. And no. I still didn’t get the email. It’s been a month since first call. For a document you most likely have saved to your desktop.

My now 2 year old daughter was born with a very serious condition at birth that is known to have future effects. We had an emergency situation and were advised by Monmouth Medical to contact our Pediatrician Dr. Shkolnaya and go for a visit in the event any suspected issues were to arise. When my daughter was experiencing issues, we called to make an emergency appointment and were refused service and Natasha the office admin was condescending, rude, and dismissive to my wife and acted as a gatekeeper to gain access to medical attention. Dr. Shkolynaya refused to even get on the phone to give her professional medical advice. It took 5 hours later and me screaming at them (appropriately) to get their attention. Dr. Shkolynaya was well aware that my daughter suffer from her condition and how fragile of a situation that could become and how deadly.

Long story short, thank God we took my daughter to the Hospital in the meantime because she almost died of a Bowel Blockage. If we had waited for Dr. Shkolynaya to finally respond to us, she could have...

When we returned home from what turned into an emergency surgery and a 2 week hospital stay on life support the entire time, my daughter was advised to see a pediatrician ASAP as a follow-up. Due to the lack of care and absolute inappropriate attitude we were met with, as well as the feedback we received from all sorts of medical professionals that our Pediatrician should have seen us immediately and at the absolute very least should have gotten on the phone personally... we had made our minds up to start seeing another pediatrician immediately. When my wife asked for my daughter's records (which are needed to transfer pediatricians) we were told with an authoritative attitude by Natasha that they "legally have up to 90 Days" to transfer them. Again, it took a week and a half later and screaming (appropriately) at them to get the records transfered so my daughter could get the care she direly needed from a real medical professional and we were again met with a tremendous attitude.

I would have given zero stars if that was possible. If you hate your children and want them to be seen by a staff that has absolutely no care for them whatsoever, bring them here!! I hope they respond with their usual condescending attitude to this comment so I can get off the fence of whether or not I'm going to sue them. 😊

Terrible experience ! Would not recommend! Awful office staff! Unprofessional. Lied about sending my child’s records to our current pediatrician when they actually never did. Then I had to pick up my children's medical records and was charged 30 for them!
