I love the ingredients they use here! Alexis was able to bleach my red & brown-black curly hair to a light yellow with NO damage, something I’ve struggled with even at curly salons. She knows curly hair well and does what it takes to get it shiny and straight without damaging the integrity of the curl. Jewels and Alexis are both the sweetest, and I always feel welcome and included here. I’ll never go anywhere else!

This is the only salon I will trust with my hair. As a transgender man it’s very difficult to find a place where I know they won’t mess up my thick curly hair, but where I know I’ll feel comfortable. Do or Dye goes above and beyond in both areas. I would recommend this place to anyone.

The absolute best. I am so particular with my hair, I only cut it about twice a year and I color it. After living in NYC for 10+ years my standards are very very high.

Not only is Jewels super super talented, but she has created a very special environment where you feel so comfortable. It’s not an uppity salon, I literally breastfed my newborn while Alexis who also works there hung out with my three year old so I could enjoy my cut and color. It’s a dream come true for moms because, real life!

I left feeling mentally refreshed, and she breathed fresh air into my long but postpartum hair making it look fuller, glossier, and healthier than ever!!!

My first time at this salon and I absolutely fell in love with it. First of all, the vibe in there is not your typical salon you see nowadays. Once you go there, you’ll know what I mean. Second, Alexis welcomed me with such a warm smile— she did a beautiful cut on my hair and was so friendly. We had the best conversation, and I left the salon with the biggest smile on my face! Jules is a fantastic hair stylist and artist. I really appreciate her ability to look at a fashion haircut and then replicate it on me. Many stylists can't do that. I also love the punk rock interior design of her salon. It's fun going there.

Jewels was amazing! She did a phenomenal job on my hair and she's very personable and friendly (super easy to talk to). She made me feel comfortable and right at home, and was very collaborative on ideas for my new look. Her shop is super badass and super clean to boot. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Besides the fact the name of the salon is amazingly clever, this place was so aesthetically pleasing with a cool punk rock atmosphere. The staff was amazing. Super sweet and friendly and they gave my fiance a great color for her hair!

Jewels is fantastic!!! She just made my brassy blah blond head a hot and ashy head! She did even better than I thought was possible and her integrity is even more appreciated. She said she could get the results I wanted with the least expensive option, and she delivered!!! She probably could have told me she could only achieve the look I want with a more expensive process and I would have had to believe her...but she didn’t...because she’s a true professional and I’m thrilled! The cut is great too. Simple but a big improvement on my neglected locks. Thanks so much Jewels!!! I will def be back and couldn’t recommend you more!!!

This place is a gem. I needed a new salon and learned about this place through a friend. Jewels was so thoughtful and attentive, and I really appreciated her knowledge and creativity when we discussed my new 'do.

It's not often that you find a stylist so professional and next-level talented. She's a rock star in every sense of the word. Not only did I leave with an amazing new look, I had a ton of fun during my appointment. Jewels is an epic human and I'm so happy to have found this holy grail of salons.

I had an excellent experience here. I got my hair done by Jewels and she was really great. I needed a haircut and she was very accommodating to what I wanted. We had great conversations about music, Aveda products, etc. I will absolutely be back, and back, and back.

After a year of trying to find someone that could do a proper undershave in the style tgat i wanted to i found Jewels. She took her time was super competent and focused, and and made me feel comfortable. Super great with directions and understanding the style i wanted. Really lucky to have found this place ! Id recommend this place to anyone especially alternative cuts and punk/ metal styles. Shes a complete professional and knows her craft. She also was super great with covid safety wich was important to me.

I LOVED THIS PLACE!! Giuliana was so awesome to talk to, she was so so thoughtful and helped me throughout the process because I had an idea and she helped me figure out what I wanted to do. I love my hair, I put my trust into her and it came out great. She also has vegan and cruelty free dyes (aveda) and the salon smells like cookies ALL the time.

Jewles is the best hair stylist in the area! She is always professional, extremely skilled and fun! She has all the safety measures in place for Covid-19 - screening at the door and masks. I would recommend her without hesitation!
