Swan Mountain Outfitters (Glacier Division)

The wife and I did the 2-hour Glacier Gateway ride. Our instructor at the corral was very friendly and knowledgeable. The wrangler for the trail ride was also very friendly and knowledgeable. She shared information about the area, fauna along the trail, and talked about the local wildlife. I rode Butterscotch, and my wife rode Buster. Both horses did a great job walking the sometimes rugged footing with the tree roots, soft ground, and big rocks. The wife and I enjoyed the entire experience and would be very happy to do it all again. Thank you, Swan Mountain Outfitters, for a great time.

We had a group of seven - we all knew each other, we were all beginners and three of our riders were boys between the ages of
seven and nine, and everything went perfectly. Even the seven year old who was riding for the first time, had a wonderful experience riding on his own horse. Nate was so patient and so great with the boys and very concerned about everyone having a safe, fun ride. He took time to fit the stirrups and saddles to the boys' smaller stature and matched the horses perfectly to each rider - it couldn't have been better. I rode Maverick- he was amazing!! Best horse ever!! Very sure footed and so sweet and just the best horse to ride - hopefully I'll get to ride him the next time I book a ride with Nate and the Swan Mountain Outfitters.
We took the two hour ride, which gave us plenty of great trail experiences and time in the woods, but wasn't too long for all of our beginning riders. When you book a ride with this outfit, be sure to tell them you want Nate as your wrangler - you definitely won't be disappointed.

My granddaughter and I went on the Apgar Meadows 1 hour ride. We were blessed to be the only two booked for the 3:30 ride. I rode Odd Job and my granddaughter rode Jaime. Both horses were gentle and obedient. Our guide Penelope was great about engaging my granddaughter in conversation and explaining things to us. We mostly rode through a forest. I have to say that the views were not as fantastic as riding in Colorado, but we had a great time and my granddaughter loved it! Thanks!

Did two hour CM Russell ride. Originally had different trail at many glacier, but staff was very understanding and helpful when wanting to switch to a different ride over the phone.
Leader was knowledgeable, and fun. Ride was mostly thru wooded terrain, brief pass of riverside. Horses were obedient and well mannered. Overall, good experience in the mountains! Thanks for the great time 😊

We enjoyed our morning outing hitting the trails. Shawn and Lily were our wranglers and were fantastic! Not only did we get a great trail ride, with very well behaved horses but also got fun facts and knowledge about the surroundings. Will definitely recommend!

Just did a one hour trail ride with my 15 yoa daughter, had a great time and would recommend the trial ride next time I would consider the 2 hour park ride. Brett did a great job as trial guide. I liked it better than mule ride at Grand Canyon.

We really enjoyed our 2 hour ride and delicious food we had after with the Cowboy cookout! Our Wranglers were very kind and fun.

We did the Cowboy Cookout. The whole experience was great. We loved Jason as our guide. He was so nice, informative, kind and funny. We also loved the dinner and our cook Luke - a trained chef.

Just my husband and I on this two hour ride with Ethan, our wrangler. The horses were steady and foot sure, as we were taken around narrow and twisty paths. Ethan pointed out interesting facts along the way, including trees which had been marked by bears AND we saw a young black bear. Enjoyable ride, pleased we did it. We chose to do the trail ride outside of National Glacier Park

We had a wonderful ride this week, early in the morning. The 2h Cracker Flats trail Varied a lot, shady forest parts and open fields. The horses TomTom and Butterscotch were great! As well as our guide. We also saw a black bear. Thanks for a great adventure!

My wife and I had a great experience on our horseback ride! We were originally scheduled for a 2 hour ride at the Apgar corrals within Glacier National Park, however, due to all of the rain right before we got there we got bumped down to the 1 hour ride. Definitely wish we could've done the 2 hour ride but the 1 hour was still fun with some decent views. Our trip included about 13 people and they had 3 wranglers with us dispersed throughout the line which was helpful. All of the wranglers were very nice and helpful and made the experience fun! Pretty well-behaved horses if you follow their instructions on how to handle them.

Our horse trail guide, Quinn, was incredibly cheery, informative, and helpful! Every other person we interacted with was just as polite too! I was surprised the horses they gave us could hold up me and my three-quarter ton friends, but the staff's tutorial made mounting these powerful beasts easy!

Great ride. First time on a horse and was a experience of a lifetime. The apgar trail I enjoyed but was just through the woods. Oddjob the best horse there 🐎

Went on the 1 hour trail ride from West Glacier and it was a blast! The people over the phone were very helpful when I was scheduling the ride. Our wranglers Levi and Ethan were very knowledgeable and fun to be around. I do wish the trail was a little more scenic but it was still a cool ride through the woods nonetheless. I would definitely come back if I have the opportunity.

We went on a 2 hour ride on 5/18 and it was wonderful! I have never been to Montana and wasn’t sure what outfitters would be open this time of year but it was very easy to make a reservation with them! It was raining but not enough to stop us from having a great ride.
Ethan was our guide and he was awesome. He was extremely knowledgeable and informative about the plants, animals, and overall ecology of glacier and surrounding areas.

My wife and I rode on an early 2 hour trip. Our wranglers were professional and friendly. The ride is a nice introductory experience for teens and adults. I've only ridden once before and felt very comfortable with my horse. The trail is relaxing and beautiful. We really enjoyed ourselves!

Such a great experience yesterday at Swan Mountain Outfitters! It was our first time riding and everyone was very helpful and made us feel comfortable and safe! Levi made the trail ride so much fun and shared facts about nature and horses. One of a kind experience here in the Glacier area.

Hiking in the mountains is great, but when you're riding the trail on horseback with a guide it's even better! If you've never ridden a horse, but have always wanted to, I highly recommend the guides at Swan Mountain Outfitters. The horses are beautiful and well trained. On top of that the staff is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Steve was our guide for a two hour adventure near Strawberry Mountain and it was a blast. Thanks for the great experience and lifelong memories.

Levi and Ethan were excellent hosts and we really enjoyed our 2-hr horseback stroll through the woods. Would definitely do it again!
