North Shore Trailhead

The trail starts with a bridge over the creek. Very wide and smooth for the first part. We didn't go very far as was very windy that day.

Bears and Cougars... Come prepared, and avoid early morning, late afternoon hikes.

Great Trail! We hiked this trail to No Name Lake passing moose along the way. The views are good a couple places of Two Medicine Lake but it is mostly in the trees and above the lake. Once reaching the trail junction the trail climbs steadily with switchbacks to No Name Lake. I would have went on to the pass but time didn't allow. No Name Lake was frozen and had a dusting of snow on the north sides of mountains and on the trail near No Name Lake. There wasn't any creeks flowing until almost No Name Lake as well. Erythroniums would be beautiful here in summer on the switchbacks.

Saw a big blond grizzly from Pitamakan Pass trail! Also found huckleberries close to the trail in July. The scenery is beautiful.

All three times I have been on this hike I have seen grizzly bears. Please be careful!
