Courthouse Cafe

Some dinner items should be available all-day. If you can do burgers, you can do Chopped steak. A soup of the day should be offered (not just clam Chowder) Megan (our waitress) was outstanding. The mgr on duty was abrupt when I asked a question. Thank goodness the cook was over there as he answered my question without attitude. The smashed burger were excellent. However, best eaten on a plate with a fork as the bun is crumbly and falls apart. The bird in the hand would have been tasty if the chicken wasn't dried out. Did a great job on remodeling. Menu needs some dinners available for late afternoon.

First visit to Courthouse Cafe at Hanover Courthouse. We both ordered the Meatloaf Sandwich on Sourdough bread from the day’s specials menu and it was To-die-for, moist and slathered with BbQ sauce. The sourdough was grilled perfectly. The shoestring fries were literally mounded up and falling off the plate and cooked just right. Good iced tea (don’t underestimate the importance of properly brewed iced tea!).
For dessert we shared the Nightingale Ice Cream Sandwich - Banana Pudding flavor, with a chocolate drizzle… SO YUMMY!

They’ve done a great job of renovating So Far Thus the 4 stars in atmosphere, they really need some wall decor. The Bar area looks very inviting.

Definitely will return!

Found this place while going to a near by event. Glad we did! It was near closing time so it wasn't busy. The waitress was the best!! The drinks were tasty. We had smashed burgers, fries and onion rings....delicious!!! Service was quick and the waitress was super friendly, chatting with us like old friends. Definitely will be back again!

Staff was very sweet even though we got there late, right before close. Food was excellent!! You have to try their ice cream sandwiches. Support your local business and give courthouse cafe a visit! <3

Got there right before closing but wow.. great pulled pork, great fried shrimp and the best onion rings I've ever had. Great comfort food with great service.

Food was quick and good. Meghan was awesome. I left my credit card when we left to go to a local attraction. She figured out where we went and brought the card to us. That is absolutely awesome. Will definitely be back

Great local spot - so glad it is in the neighborhood. Definitely worth the visit. I had fried oysters and fries with an appetizer of pimento cheese and crackers. Fried fish and shrimp were also served at the table. The burgers looked great! Service was great, food was delicious. We'll definitely be back!

What a gem we discovered on our way from Atlanta to Philly! I had
famous Hanover Tomato stuffed with homemade Shrimp Salad. The tomato was sweet and a beautiful texture and the salad was chock full of perfectly cooked shrimp in a unique mayo-based dressing. My husband had their Smashburger and it exceeded his expectations! He makes them all the time on our griddle and was humbled to admit these were far better than his,especially with thick cut apple-woodsmoked bacon on it! Service was perfect and the owner was so welcoming, friendly and shared great stories. Definitely recommend you go out of your way to break bread here!

Quaint cafe across from the historic Hanover Courthouse with attentive service and freshly prepared food. Wedge salad was spectacular, smash burger was filling and delicious. Don’t leave without trying the ice cream sandwich for dessert!

Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food! Very clean and the patio is perfect. We will be back, for sure!
