As a photographer, I enjoy capturing moments at venues that offer flexibility. Having both indoor and outdoor options for couples, especially during the peak season from March to November, adds to the appeal. The well-kept and manicured grounds, along with the venue's historic charm, provide a picturesque backdrop for my photos. The reception area, housed in a spacious white tent, makes lighting arrangements effortless. My past experiences at this venue have been consistently positive, and I eagerly anticipate working with my next couple here.

My husband and I got married at Mankin in September and I truly cannot put into words how amazing it is.

From the moment we toured the property, we knew we found somewhere special. The venue itself is stunning. We wanted to get married outside but wanted a suitable back up option in case of rain. Both are absolutely beautiful. The grounds are magical and the whole vibe is really cool.

Mankin is far and away beyond just a venue though. The best part was the team (shout out to our Mankin planner, Leah, who may be the best person I know). They are professionals in every sense of the word and really embrace each couple to make their unique relationship shine. Without the Mankin team, our wedding would not have what it was and I am truly beyond grateful.

My husband and I visited Mankin Mansion and we instantly knew that it was the perfect venue for us! We worked with Gillian over the next 2 (ish) years to create the perfect wedding and timeline for us. We loved how much was included in the packages and how easy they made everything. Gillian and her assistant Emily truly make you feel so cared about during the entire process. On our day it did rain but the team were absolute pros and made the whole transition inside so easy and didn’t ask or “bother” my husband or I with any detail related questions about any of the decor they had to find a new layout for. It was so nice being able to trust that they would be able to handle the new plan without stressing either one of us out. We absolutely love Mankin and would recommend it to anyone!! They are the experts and treat you like family!

Historic Mankin Mansion is a stunning venue for weddings, with its grand southern architecture and meticulously landscaped gardens. The mansion's elegant interior, complete with crystal chandeliers and hand-painted frescoes, provides the perfect backdrop for saying "I do," while the outdoor spaces offer a variety of options for ceremonies and receptions. From the sweeping lawns to the charming gazebo, there is no shortage of beautiful spots to celebrate your special day. We knew from the moment we first visited the Historic Mankin Mansion that this was "our venue." HMM's grounds are gorgeous year-round and is constantly maintained to ensure it is photogenic from every angle. To be honest, it does not feel like you're in Richmond or Virginia when you're there—that's the best part! Historic Mankin Mansion is so unique as a venue, especially for weddings in Virginia where so many couples get married at the vineyards over and over again. HMM is special and was the best to work with. The team is small AND mighty! The owners, Paula and Martin, are with you throughout the process and know how to plan for and execute weddings. Their planners are just as amazing! We worked with Gillian and Lauren and they made us feel loved and respected and cared for throughout the many months we spent planning for our wedding... IT WAS PERFECT! We knew that our wedding was "a dream wedding" and now that we're married, we look back and can still say it was a dream that came true. The entire team is detail-oriented and cares about every moment. As a well experienced team, they share such wonderful insight and ideas for you and are candid—which meant a lot to us. Trust us when we say you want to work with a team that cares about you enough to give you candid feedback and suggestions ... they are experts at what they do! We truly enjoyed every moment of the process and could not be happier with how our wedding weekend went at HMM. Everything was perfect! Our family and friends are still raving about everything weeks later and continue to share how much they loved our venue, the team, the grounds, and how much fun we had celebrating together. We will cherish our memories at HMM for decades to come and proudly tell our family and friends about the venue that perfectly celebrated our love.

We had our wedding at the Mankin Mansion last weekend (9/30/23) and it was incredible. I can’t say enough good things about this venue. Emily was our coordinator and she made sure everything about our wedding was perfect. When the day finally came it was exactly as we pictured. Yes this venue is pricey, but you get so much with your money, for us it was all worth it.

My Nephew just had his wedding here and I was very impressed with the whole venue. The grounds are quite beautiful. There is a quite a unique charm to the place. Very well manicured and well kept. The little chapel area where the actual wedding was held, is very stunning. Lots of antique looking chairs, mirrors and chandlers. They have a number of rooms located on the property that all the wedding party stayed in before the wedding and then they all spent the night there. They have a little maze with some Greek looking statues. The reception was quite fun. They had a tent and catered everything with an open bar. They even had a little gelato cart for dessert. Open bar and the whole staff was super nice, attentive and professional. It is quite an amazing place. Well worth holding any event here or just staying overnight. Don't think you can go wrong booking this place!

My husband and I met in Richmond, VA and knew that was the place we needed to get married - even if we now live out of state! Five minutes after stepping onto Mankin’s property, we knew this would be the perfect place to get married. The grounds are pristine and are perfect for gorgeous photography and fun for guests to explore. They have a coordinator that guides you along your planning process and is there to support you on the day of your wedding. Of course no one expects it to rain on their wedding day, but we were SO thankful that we were at Mankin when we had a few showers during our ceremony. The indoor gallery ended up being a gorgeous place for our ceremony. Our coordinator, Gillian, was incredible to work with throughout our 1.5 year planning process. She kept us organized and was there to give advice when we needed it. On the day of our wedding, it was so nice to have established a relationship with her because we 100% trusted her when anything needed to be changed. The evening ran so smoothly and was the best party. My husband and I both keep saying this was the best night of our lives, and we’re both very thankful to Gillian and the staff at Mankin Mansion for all they did to make our night the best. Highly highly recommend to anyone getting married in RVA.

Beautiful historic place. Excellent chioce made by the bride and groom. The grounds are maintained well and the inside ball room was so beautiful with all the chandeliers and lighting. If your looking for a very formal place, this is it... #kermitslife

Getting married at Mankin Mansion was the best choice I made in the entire wedding planning process. The space is beautiful, the planning team is incredible, and they made our day run so perfectly.

We picked Mankin because we wanted an all in one experience, to make our lives easier, and to make it easy for our guests, and they delivered. From the first meeting to our grand exit, as a bride, I knew the entire time that our special day was in great hands.

First of all, Mankin Mansion is simply beautiful. The grounds are amazing, and beautiful year round. And they fully customized our ceremony and reception in the gallery and tent to make it really come together. And the BRIDAL SUITE is to die for. Having a beautiful private space to get ready with my mom and bridesmaids made me feel like a queen. Pictures do not do this venue justice.

Second, the planning team is unmatched. Leah is outstanding. She made it all come together perfectly. She kept me on track with planning, coordinated between all of the vendors to make sure everyone knew just what to do, She made me feel like I was the only wedding she was planning the entire time! And on the day of the wedding, she seamlessly maintained the flow of the day. She even bustled my dress for me outside in 20 degree weather. I wish I had a Leah for real life.

Plus, having the music team available through the venue was so great because it was just one less thing to worry about. All the equipment is there, and they are fully involved in the ceremony and reception planning, so there was no hiccups or confusion.

There just aren’t enough words to describe how happy I am with how perfect our wedding turned out and it is all thanks to the team at HMM. They made sure every detail was handled and made it so that my husband and I were fully present with our friends and family on the happiest days of our lives.

I cannot say enough amazing things about the beautiful venue, but it’s really the team that makes Mankin so special. They are MORE than impressive. They are the ne plus ultra of the wedding industry. They are like family to my husband and I. I am so thankful for all that they did and the amazing memories I will get to cherish forever as a result of their hard work.

The minute my (now) husband sent me photos from The Historic Mankin Mansion after we got engaged, I knew we HAD to get married there. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, the staff is super helpful, and our wedding experience was just perfect. They really take care of everything from start to finish so you can truly enjoy your special day. I can't recommend them enough!

This was my second time attending a wedding here and let me just say, each was amazing in their own way!!! The staff was amazing and the property is picturesque. Amazing facility if you are looking to get married any time soon. You can have an indoor or outdoor wedding.

Not only is the location and setting gorgeous (which you can see by photos or visit), but the full service attention is what really set the Mankin apart. Special thanks to Leah who was so helpful throughout the process and ensured no detail overlooked. If I could give more than five stars I would.

From the very first moment I stepped foot at the Historic Mankin Mansion, I knew it was the perfect wedding venue for me! We booked the full week weekend package and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it!! Everything was so perfect and flawless and stress-free because of this venue. From having a wedding coordinator built in to the package (shout out to Lauren!) to providing cottages for up to 16 overnight guests, they really have thought of everything and give you a lot of bang for your buck! At our very first meeting to tour the venue, we were greeted by Martin (one of the owners with his wife Paula) and offered heart shaped cookies and beverages. That alone shows that they go the extra mile to make you feel special and cared for during your time on their property. They do such a great job planning and coordinating with you and your vendors, on the wedding day you pretty much just have to show up and let them run the show! Lauren, Madison, Martin, Paula and the entire team truly made us feel welcome, loved, cared for and completely at ease during the planning phases and the entire wedding weekend. I swear when I needed a straw during the wedding night they found me a straw within 2 seconds! Their level of professionalism and customer service is high quality and our guests couldn’t stop raving about how amazing the venue was! If you’re getting married you should really consider this as a top contender for your special day!!
