Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours

This was, hands down, the most incredible vacation ever. My husband I were treated like royalty! The ship was immaculate, the food and service were amazing, and all of the extras (e-bikes, spa, gym, butler service, tours) pushed it over the top. My husband is in the restaurant industry, so we are very picky. We loved our trip so much that we booked another one before we left the ship! We met so many wonderful people on the boat who have done multiple river cruises on different lines, and all said Scenic is their favorite.

I was just on the Jasper on the Danube. Most of the crew were great, but one stood out as Excellent. His name was Marko Ristic, from Croatia. He is a restaurant server and did a great job. Nice person and did a great job without any need to request any attention by our table of 8.

Scenic Cruise Lines refused to accommodate us after an emergency surgery required us to miss our cruise in June, 2023.

That cruise was arranged and fully paid for in spring of 2021, and originally set for May of 2022. HOWEVER, Scenic CANCELLED that cruise (“SUSPENDED OPERATIONS”) within days of our non-refundable flight to Europe. IN SPITE OF SCENIC’S OWN FINE PRINT, they refused to offer a refund and insisted our only option was to take a future travel credit.

We decided to book the same cruise a year later. This was the trip planned to commence on June 14. HOWEVER, on June 7 I was diagnosed with ACUTE APPENDICITIS and scheduled for emergency surgery.

We called Scenic FROM THE EMERGENCY ROOM on June 7 to inform them of this development and to cancel our trip, as we did not want to be no-shows, and to allow them to RE-SELL THE CABIN.

IN SPITE OF THE HISTORY OF SCENIC CANCELLING OUR CRUISE ON US IN 2022, SCENIC REFUSED TO OFFER US ANY REFUND OR FUTURE TRAVEL CREDIT DUE TO THE MEDICAL EMERGENCY.

THIS IS NOT FAIR.
WE DID NOT GET WHAT WE PAID QUITE A LOT OF MONEY FOR.
ALL OF OUR EFFORTS TO REACH SCENIC TO DISCUSS THIS MATTER HAVE NOT BEEN ANSWERED.

When things go right they seem to meet the specs. However when they cancelled my cruise mid-March due to the COVID-19, they have yet to honor the refunds as promised and it's mid-June! We had three(3) cabins on a credit card, how hard is it to issue a credit??? Good customer service holds true when things go bad, too. Not sure I will give them a 2nd chance, too many competitors with similar itineraries.

Bus never arrived at pick up. Was forced to arrange other transportation. Missed several appointments. Less than 1 star.
