Went there for a nighttime investigation with three other friends. I had a fun night even though no activity was observed. I would love to return. However, there is about a one-year waiting time to get a reservation. My friend and I experienced more spirit activity at a local bed and breakfast that we stayed at the night before.

The May-Stringer House is a wonderful place to bring your family to learn about some history and Brooksville Florida. Admission is $10 for an adult and $5 for children 12 and under. The house is considered a Victorian style, ginger bread home. The outside of the home could be in need of some refurbishment and a touch of paint, but overall the house itself looks to be in fine shape.
The interior of the home is very well kept with many items being donated from various people. All of the items are said to be in the correct time period. There are three floors to discover.
We were greeted by three staff members all wearing Victorian style outfits. They were all very knowledgeable about the home and were able to answer many questions. Thank you for the wonderful experience. It is a must-do for anyone that is a local in the area.

We had an amazing experience! We did the ghost tour and one of our tour guide Steve was awesome! He gave us so much information and history on the house and even let us use some of his personal equipment! We will definitely be going back again :))

Very awesome daytime tour that I did last Saturday! This place is filled with a ton of historical items and there is so much to look at here! They offer $5 daytime tours on Saturdays from 11am-3pm. All the money earned goes towards the restoration of the house! The volunteer tour guide I had was absolutely awesome! 👻🎩📸

My daughter and I stopped by randomly to check it out. We love history and was surprised it was by tour. Our tour guide did a wonderful job of telling us the history of the home, who lived there, and showing us a lot of pieces. My 6 yr old was thrilled to see older items to compare to what we have today. We did not know that there may be ghosts there and my daughter says "it's by the window in the attic" and she felt the "heebee geebees".

We arrived for our 2 hour tour and were greeted by Bonnie and Karen. They toured us through the rooms of the house giving us glimpses of the past. Then they gave us some gadgets andet us investigate on our own. We were a group of 8. 10 is the max usually. It was an educational and interesting night.

Wonderful place to visit. There is so much to see. The docents are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They take great care in "reading" the visitor and tailoring the tour for them. This is a place you will want to visit several times. Just a bit of warning though, be sure to check the website to see when they are open for tours. If the American & Florida flags are out on the porch, they are most likely open.

Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable! She has been a part of the house for quite a while and her grandmother was one of the owners! Nothing happened during our day trip but we plan a night one to see if anything happens! Decor and house are really worth checking out. For 8 bucks you can't beat it!

My husband, my son and myself visited the May-Stringer house just the other day. Unfortunately we were one minute too late for a tour, literally got there at 3:01pm. they close at 3pm. As I always say everything happens for a reason, wasn't meant to be that day. (Now keep in mind I didn't know any of the history of this house just that it was said to be haunted)
We did get to visit the gift shop and get a bit of information from Vicki, she informed us of when we could return for a visit and tour. When my husband asked her if she believed the house was haunted, she responded with "oh I know it is" she was very serious.
the little glisten in her eye brought me to believe she has had more experience than just one to make her a firm believer! She told us that we needed to be sure to take pictures because we would see things when we got home that we didn't see while we were here! Creepy! Though my photos don't show anything I've got to share this anyways
Now I am a photo phonetic, so of course I went to the front to check it out and snap some photos even though I knew we'd be back for a tour before too long! Now I dont know what exactly I saw, I DO KNOW THAT THE TOP ATTIC FLOOR WINDOW HAD A DARK SHADOW FIGURE IN THE WINDOW! IT WAS QUICK IT WAS THERE THEN IT WAS GONE, I HAD A HEAVY DARK FEELING WHEN I SAW IT. The window below it had white curtains, they moved as if someone was looking out the window. Now if someone else was there im not sure, I do know that what I saw in the attic window was mean, dark, it was not a person and it freaked me the hell out! It was very unsettling and a bit overwhelming.
I immediately told my husband that our son would not be going inside that house! I refused to let him inside that house! My husband agreed! I left there sweating and freezing cold and I didn't even go inside!
Now its been A few days and my son is on the phone with my sister, he is on 3. He tells his auntie that we went to a haunted house, that in the window he saw a old man, the old man looked very scary my son said and told him not to come inside! Then he was gone.
I got goose bumps listening to this! Now this is something I didn't know about until today! I had to share because all you who are interested in this kinda stuff must go visit this house, all you who don't believe will after visiting the May-Stringer house!

Beautiful decorations. Some staff more informative and knowledgeable than others. Parking was difficult and needs better planning. Overall a very nice event and would definitely go back again.

Wow, what a great site to visit! So much to see in one historical house, I will be going back because it is just amazing and nostalgic. Bring a camera. And the knowledgeable volunteers make it even better. Thanks again!
