The Hinson House Bed & Breakfast

We stayed at The Hinson House at the beginning of February 2024. The home is beautifully decorated with antiques and took me back to a simpler time. They have complimentary refreshments available around the clock and when we arrived the wonderful fragrance of fresh baked cookies filled the air. Our room was well decorated with antiques and a wonderful comfortable bed that I melted into and rested well for the entire night. Each morning we were greeted by a beautifully set and decorated dining room with fresh fruit, followed by freshly prepared foods such as French toast, bacon, biscuits, and eggs. Our hosts, Olivia and Keith, were wonderful and a delight to converse with. They shared a vast amount of great information on the history of Marianna, Florida. There were about 10 people in our group and there were plenty of beautifully decorated, comfortable, places for us to sit and visit including the ample, yet cozy dining room, a large sitting area with lots of seating, and a porch with a swing and rocking chairs. We loved our stay and felt like welcomed guests. If we are back in the area would definitely stay again.

We found The Hinson House by chance while biking through the southern USA.
We were warmly welcomed by Keith and found a cozy house, a very nice and comfortable room upstairs with a bathtub and extra walk-in shower - just what we needed!
The Hinson House Bed & Breakfast welcomes guests with a beautiful front porch. Enjoy complimentary coffee and an assortment of soft drinks (from a shared fridge), and some delicious freshly baked treats (dangerously yummy!). Not to mention a near five star breakfast in the morning! We only stayed one night, but we met guests here who are returning several times a year!
Our personal story with Keith would go too far here, but we just had the best experience with him as a helpful and just practical soul - just ask him about "the German cyclists who needed rescuing" - we hope he remembers us!

You walk back in time as you come through the front door. Our 1st time staying at a bed & breakfast, Hinson House was comfortable, cozy & a home away from home. Keith was very nice & informative. Leah was amazing & her cooking was fabulous along with her personality. The decor was fabulous & rooms very clean. Will definitely be staying there again.

We love this bed and breakfast. The rooms are always wonderful, clean and neat. The house has an old charm and “homey” feel. They always make you feel right at home and comfortable. Easy access, easy pay. While we usually leave before breakfast there are always snacks and hot coffee to grab. Definitely recommend this bed and breakfast.

I got nothing but love for these people. My wife and I were originally set to have a quiet anniversary weekend. They had the perfect room in a place close enough for the babysitter to issue a recall if needed. Unfortunately, our child care fell through and what was supposed to be a quite, romantic weekend turned into a family getaway. My wife and I were, of course, a bit upset at losing our anniversary getaway but Keith and Olivia jumped right in. They worked it with another guest to switch rooms and they even babysat our boys long enough for us to have a quiet anniversary dinner.

I gotta be straight - doing that was not a requirement. Regardless of the circumstances, you can't ask someone to do more than what is contracted for without first determining what the cost would be. This never came up. Keith told me he understood the problem and he would provide a solution that he was capable of arranging. He did a fantastic job. We had a comfortable, two room suite that was absolutely perfect for my family.

These are good people. Leah and her husband manage the day to day and the meals and they are good people. Can I say that? These are good people. I enjoyed every conversation and interaction with them and I have nothing but praise and appreciation for them.

Book a room. Book it for several days and go exploring this area of Northwest Florida - there's some rather cool things you wouldn't have normally thought.

Should it happen that my wife and I find ourselves in a place to reschedule our missed getaway weekend, yeah, the Hinson House is gonna be at the top of our choices.

So I give the Hinson House FIVE STARS!!! I assure you, you will not walk away from your stay complaining about anything. There won't be anything to complain about because there won't be anything to complain about.

There ain't many places that can be said about.

The Hinson House has new owners since the last time I visited in 2017 and WOW! The house was clean as a whistle and has everything you need for a fantastic stay. Our room (Sadies Suite) was wonderful, Leah's breakfasts are absolutely amazing (you won't need lunch)! Keith and Olivia (owners) were there to greet us when we arrived and take great care to make sure their guests are taken care of and comfortable!

Hinson House was beautifully decorated and extremely clean. Leigha was super friendly and an amazing chef. The highlight of each morning for us was her delicious breakfast and her excellent customer service. We will most definitely be back!

The Hinson House was amazing From the location to the room The breakfast was just plain awesome. The owners were super friendly and the Chef was amazing. They went over the top with the Cinnamon Buns to take with us. The only draw back which was road noise. We will return again we are customers for life.

Upon arrival we were met by Keith to greet us. He took time to explain the history of the Hinson House, show us each room, and make sure we had everything that we needed during our stay. Leigh was absolutely amazing. She had coffee and breakfast ready early so we were not held up during our departure. We have never stayed at a B&B in all of our travels and I do not think we will book a motel/hotel going forward. I highly recommend staying/visiting if you are in or near Marianna.

I just realized I never left a review. We stopped by on the way through around this time last year, luckily a room was available.
The innkeeper, Karen, was friendly, knowledgeable and made a fabulous family style breakfast for the guests.
The home was immaculately clean and had everything you could need.

We picked the perfect spot to meet and enjoy the panhandle….this home was perfect for my daughter and I , it was so beautiful!! They treat you so nice and they were so welcoming. Very well cared for and our room was so beautifully decorated and spacious. We looked forward to our amazing breakfasts. They sit out yummy sweets , wine, waters, coffee , hot chocolate for any time of the day. What a nice weekend we had and this place was so relaxing. We want to go back!!!

The house is lovingly maintained and decorated in a charming manner, and Karen is an excellent inn keeper. I just spent two weeks in the Sleeping Porch and had everything I needed for a comfortable home away from home while I worked on a project in a nearby town during the day. Each evening I returned to The Hinson House to clean up, grab some delicious food in Marianna (with a great Japanese restaurant right across the street!), and often had cuddly attention from Piper the dog and a sweet treat baked by Karen or one of the owners. My relatives came down from Atlanta for a weekend and really enjoyed their stay in the Crigler Mansion suite. We all loved the breakfast each morning!

This Bed and Breakfast is a gem in Marianna. Beautiful inside and out. Wish we had had a king bed instead of a queen (only one room has a king) but the bed was very comfy. Breakfast was delicious and the atmosphere very laid back yet elegant. The Hostess is friendly and a good conversationalist. I highly recommend the Hinson House is you are saying in Marianna, FL.

The historic home was beautiful and we (two adults, a 7 year old and 2 month old boys) felt welcome and had plenty of space and plenty to eat. Karen and Piper, our hosts and new friends, were wonderful to our family. Our 7 year old said that the Bed and Breakfast was the highlight of his trip (we came to Marianna for the caverns), and I agree with him. I’ve stayed at many nice hotels over the years, but the Hinson House, with it’s historic charm, is by far my favorite.
For large families, we recommend the Crigler Mansion Suite, which is where we stayed.
Side note: how do they get the sheets so soft?!

This review is delayed because I've been trying to find words to do justice to the wonderful experience we had at the Hinson House, which boasts beautiful historic accommodations and an outstanding host! I recently booked Friday/Saturday nights at the Hinson House Bed & Breakfast for my husband and I. Drawn to the photos on the website, I made arrangements for The Sleeping Porch on short notice. Our amazing host kindly revised our booking to Friday in The Sleeping Porch and Saturday in the Homeguard Suite, then also upon request, she provided rose petals and candles for our anniversary. Everything about our stay at the Hinson House was excellent; the home itself, the antiques and collectible pieces, the smallest details (the pretty metal corner caps on the stair treads), the comfortable beds and luxury linens, it all added up to a charming, relaxing experience. Our host presented delicious and varied breakfast items both mornings to be enjoyed while conversing with other house guests. Our lovely host inquired about excursions we had made, made wonderful suggestions for points of interest in Marianna and nearby; and makes the most amazing restaurant suggestions! I highly recommend Hinson House B&B. This was our first stay in a B&B, as a result of this outstanding experience, we will look for B&B's first in the future. We look forward to our next visit to Hinson House for a little longer stay and thank you Hinson House, our wonderful host and the best guest relations expert ever (Piper) for such a memorable getaway!

Our stay at the Hinson House was amazing! I would recommend it to anyone! The house is so beautifully decorated with plenty of room. Everything is super clean and welcoming. The host, Karen, was phenomenal! She catered to our every need and made AMAZING breakfast. I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you so much!!!!

The house is so clean and pretty and full of all the little extras that make your stay feel like they’ve gone out of their way to make you comfortable. And the beds were so comfortable and cozy!
We haven’t been able to stay for breakfast but the dining room looks so beautiful and the smells from the kitchen are wonderful! We appreciate the snacks and drinks provided at night. The homemade brownies were delicious! This home is always above our expectations!

This was our 1st ever stay at a Bed and Breakfast!!!! This place is charming, comfortable, the southern hospitality of Karen was amazing. Keith was so welcoming and answered our questions. Karen went above & beyond to make us feel at home. She even made me a special vegan breakfast which was delicious!!! The owners were there. They were so pleasant & gave great recommendations for places to visit. It was so beautifully decorated for Christmas. We will definitely be back!!!

This really was a joy. My sister Susi, Wyatt (service dog), my 84 yr old Mother Susanna and myself stayed over the memorial day weekend.
For Susi and I it was a quick getaway to relax. For my mother it was freedom from COVID isolation. We all really enjoyed ourselves, from the comfy rooms to the wonderful breakfasts. My mother really enjoyed the atmosphere. It brought back many childhood memories.
The location is convenient to the caverns, which we all enjoyed.
I highly recommend staying at Hinson House.
