Swampy's Bar & Grille

I love this restaurant so much. Not only is the food fantastic but the view is great too. The entire work staff is a great team even when they are very busy. The shrimp sausage grits and corn casserole are two must get dishes. I also love their gator bites. The tea is delicious too. Next time I will paddle right to restaurant now that I see they have a dock.

2024-02-13: I have been to Swampy's Bar & Grille in the past and have always enjoyed the food and outdoor seating overlooking the Rainbow River. Today, I ordered a bowl of Clam Chowder, a Philly Cheesesteak, and a side of Onion Petals. The food was fantastic! The bowl of chowder was a fairly good-sized bowl. Crystal was fantastic and kept me with a full cup of sweet tea. While waiting for my meal to arrive, other servers asked if I have been taken care of showing great teamwork.

We live in Ocala and like going to visit Rainbow springs and every time we go to the springs, we have to visits Swampy's on the way home. Have a drink, some amazing corn nuggets and some of the other awesome food they have.

My wife loves seafood and the selection here is nice, she is super happy. I on the other hand do not eat seafood and I end up ordering the same two things (I feel that selection is limited)... I get the chicken tenders or the Philly cheese steak.

I had to give it a 5 star because we are only rating the food, service and atmosphere... but this is not an affordable place. The drinks are expensive for the amount get you and the food is (like everything now a days) more expensive than it used to be.

Tuesday afternoon threat of rain, so busy but not slammed. Front row River seat. Good service , good food.

Our server was so attentive and the food was delicious! We sat outside by the water and it was a lovely experience. We will definitely be back again!!

Leah was very attentive as our server. We had the corn nuggets as the appetizer and they were delicious. I had the fish tacos and cheese grits. My husband had the surf and turf. We were very pleased with the food quality, the temp on the food, and the tranquility of our surroundings.
This has been our favorite place to eat since arriving back in Florida on Monday.

We were in Ocala so it was about a20 minutes drive away, but well worth it! A little bit of a wait for a table on a Saturday afternoon should be expected. You can grab a drink from the bar and hang out on the the Rainbow River bank while you wait. You might even see a manatee, so I've been told. Lots of activity on the river but it gives you something else to look at. The bar was booming and even though the lady seemed bothered the young man made up for her poor attitude. Highly recommend the bloody Mary! The food was hot & delicious. We were seated on the rivers edge which was awesome.

This was such a cool bar and grill. We sat outside next to the river. Lots of people out floating! Live music was awesome!
Food was ok, was super busy so we did wait quite a while to get food. I got the chicken poppers with chili sauce.
Server was great, she did well at making sure we had everything we needed!
Overall, I'd give it a 8/10.

Swampy's was excellent all the way around! Great atmosphere! Unbeatable view of the river. We were seated quickly! Our waitress was nice! The drinks were cold!! The food came out fast and was DELICIOUS! I had the peel and eat shrimp and my husband had a grouper sandwich. 10/10 Can't wait to come back!

An AMAZING atmosphere, directly on the gorgeous Rainbow River, (we like to paddle board or kayak up to it and hop out for a quick drink 🍹 or bite to eat), good food and service too!

This place is awesome! The food was amazing, even the sides were better than most! The tables by the water are scenic, as the water is so blue! Beer is such a decent price!

Great food, good music, and nice views! I really enjoyed myself and the dessert was amazing. I would return if I come back to town.

After the weather nixed our plans to float Rainbow River, Swampy's was a great option to still be able to enjoy some time riverside, and maybe a beer or 2.
Ms. Norma on the patio took excellent care of us and everything from the onion petals app to the fish tacos was delicious.
We were also able to enjoy some time on the water right there as well! So Swampy's kinda saved the day!

One of the most beautiful and serene spots on the planet, combined with great service and food that will leave you more than satisfied and if you’re into it, they even have a full bar. whether you’re in town enjoying the springs or just simply passing through or local, you will definitely enjoy this place and want to keep coming back for more.

Food was great and so were the views only 2 complaints were that it took a little for us to be waited on and with 3 kids, that can be a pain. Other issue was the food. The gator bites tasted amazing! However, the portion size of the appetizer was laughable, definitely not worth the price. Food portions were good other than that so my advice would be to try a different app! Beautiful view of the water though!!

Our first time visiting was such a great experience! It's a lovely spot on the river with great food and live music. The service was wonderful. We are excited for our next visit.

Love Swampy’s!! There is seriously nothing like getting off the river and grabbing a meal at Swampy’s. Atmosphere is top notch, staff is awesome, locals are welcoming, great value for money.

Their crawfish etoufee is unbelievably good. Beer is always cold. Love their catfish (Basa) sandwich (pictured). Huge portions!! I would pass on the ceviche, which is more like shrimp in Tobasco sauce. Anyway, Swampy’s is the absolute best and we are lucky to have it!

Really great local seafood and cocktails! Our giant party basically got everything on the menu and everything was great!

We didn't find this place til our last night. Great find! Excellent in every way. Lots of cars when we pulled in so we thought there'd be a wait, but nope. Service & atmosphere great, super relaxed and friendly. The food was amazing! Beautiful plating, outstanding flavors. We had the Mahi and Shrimp and Grits. Oh, also had one of their specialty drinks which I rarely do, and it was very good as well and reasonably priced. Will be my go-to place on my next visit to the area!

Very popular place. Make sure you have time to wait. We waited longer than 10 minutes to get seated. Once in, though, the food & drinks was so worth it.
